We arrived midweek without a reservation at 6pm but managed to get a table for 2 so make a booking. Service was very helpful and we started by sharing the pumpkin & feta arancini ball entree (5) which was very nice. For mains I had...the duck Maryland special at $34. The size of the duck was very small with not much meat on it and it needed the jus for flavouring which was served separately. The accompanied chat potatos were plentiful and the salad nice. My husband had the slow cooked beef rib on the bone for $29 which was very large and tender. The chips were very good and coleslaw tasty as well. Both meals and entree were served very hot which was great. We decided to have dessert with the sticky date pudding the clear winner. I had the Pretty Please with chocolate cake chunks, Bailey's, mousse, butterscotch sauce and cream. I didn't want cream so asked for icecream which I received. The dessert sounded better than it looked and tasted with it presented in a glass. I would have presented it spread out in a shallow bowl. We were out by 7.20pm which is just what we wanted after travelling all day. We plan on eating there again on our return trip home and staying at the Rose City Motor Inn again which was excellent. See my review if you wish.More

Food was fantastic and it's timing was fine. Drinks service was bad at first on the first night but some staff did resolve this and it was much better thereafter. We did go back the second night and it was all excellent.

Decided to try the pub after reading many good reviews. Staff were excellent, professional and friendly and the food was served quickly. Entrees we ordered .. prawn twisters and salt & pepper calamari were exceptional, fresh and tasty, however would have expected more on the...plate considering the cost. Mains were a let down, slightly dry chicken parma, a medium porterhouse that was served rare, salmon was on the small side, served with 2 tiny chats. Pork rib eye, also very small serve. The only winner was the battered flathead, salad again the letdown. A smattering of rocket was about all the salads consisted of. If you are going in hungry, best to order extra side salads/veg. Considering the prices charged here were a bit steep, more could've been on the plates. It's not really pub food, more like a restaurantMore

The northo is always accommodating for allergies in my experience. However I always call ahead and let them know so they have time to organise something for me rather than assume they can just whip it up on the spot. I also... More

I did not stay at the hotel. I only had a meal there. I stayed at The Top of The Town Motel, which was very good and 3 of us stayed there in 1 room for $170 for the night.
