Emu Cafe @ Wildlife Wonders
Review
About
The Café at Wildlife Wonders is only 5km outside Apollo Bay, but our beautiful window on the Otways bush makes it feel a world away. Enjoy a cold drink and a light meal in our courtyard, which has plenty of space for the kids to run around. Or snuggle up inside with a hot drink or soup and enjoy the beautiful bushland setting. The café is open daily (except some public holidays) for coffee & cake, and serves light meals and daily specials. We’re open to the public, so you can drop in any time.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great cafe at Wildlife Wonders (note you can access the cafe and giftshop without paying for tours). There is some seating inside (next to the tank of a friendly turtle) but I've always sat out the front where there is ample seating in the shade. Outside is dog friendly, has some some fun statues of native animals for kids to play with and you can sometimes see the emu through the fence. Great coffee and yummy cakes/slices always available in a lot lovely ambience.

Regular local visitor - this is the perfect place for coffee catch-ups, lunch with friends, or treats with grandkids. Lovely light spacious inside (with turtles, lizards and kids colouring corner) and plenty of outside space too.
Seasonally changing lunch menus, great sweet treats and good coffee in attractive surroundings with friendly staff.

I recommend the Emu café at wonder wildlife for its friendly staff, yummy food and peaceful environment. The building, facilities and Carpark are new, spotless and wheelchair accessible.
I was pleased with my lunch/ hot beverages and so was my mother. Bonus for the wifi access.

This is a great spot to get away from it all and enjoy the GREAT coffee & breakfast. The outdoor area lets you enjoy the outdoors away from the Main Street of Apollo Bay and only 5 minutes out of town👍 …..and all this while supporting conservation efforts in The Otways. Highly recommend this as a stop along the Great Ocean Road or a getaway from Apollo Bay.

We had lunch prior to a 1pm tour of the sanctuary.
Friendly efficient staff, great atmosphere and warm on a cold wet day.
Best cauliflower soup ever and the tomato soup was also delicious. Toasties, focaccias & menu available.
Service was prompt and we did a tour at 1pm.
Probably worth ringing to check tour times at this time of year.

I love that you can sit at this cafe without having to go on a tour, it's such a lovely spot to have a coffee. A hidden gem in Apollo Bay! The cafe has a huge window overlooking the sanctuary and I even got a sneak peek at the emus who came up close to the window to say hello! The coffee is also amazing and they have lots of food (plus a whole menu) that looks great too. I'll definitely be back!

In a delightful outdoor space we were treated to delicious Turkish bread toasties and smoothies. Friendly service in a tranquil setting. Will be a routine lunch spot from now on. A real gem!
