We just had the Tomato & Herb Braised Beef Cheek and the Crispy Skin Salmon lunch special and it was absolutely delicious. Salmon cooked to perfection and one of the best meals we enjoyed for a long time.
Well done Chef and service was fantastic.

Table of 3 who dined for lunch on a weekend after seeing a post on Instagram recommending for Vegans. One in our party who was very impressed with the options on the menu and the meal itself. All really enjoyed our meals: steak and pork dishes very tender and full of flavour. Vegan loved her caulifower curry and the fries were shared and enjoyed by all. Will return and recommend

The local golf club members recommended this hotel to us when asked. They were spot on. A warm, friendly welcoming atmosphere which puts some other far more expensive venues in Tasmania to shame! My husband had the prawn and chicken stack which was delicious and I had a Mexican chicken schnitzel which was so tasty. All meals served hot just as we like it. The salad you added to the plate was so tasty and fresh. A pleasure to eat at you hotel!

A pleasant venue in the Main Street of George Town, we went here for a family lunch.
It has a good menu that includes available gluten free options. Servings were generous and prices most reasonable.
It is a comfortable space and offers ample cafe parking out the back.

Food was Luke warm, vegetables were uncooked, whole experience was lousy.
The restaurant decor is good and spacious just let down by poor cooking.

We enjoyed our lunch here at a reasonable price. Better than the Communion in Burnie. We will certainly recommend this restaurant with its modern interior design, clean toilet and good service.

Always a terrific pub meal. Can’t go past the chicken and prawn stack or a parmi, not too mention the bruschetta! Service is spot on.

It seems that my wife and I have an unfortunate knack of going to places that have rave reviews saying about excellent service, great meals, quick service etc.. and we get none of the above...and so our luck of the draw continues...
We went to Gray's for a meal on Friday 3rd January, just after 7:30. We noticed there was a party on in the beer garden behind the bistro, (it was hard not to notice) with a tab going at the bistro bar.
The $20 Friday night Rump steak deals caught our eye, so my wife went up to order, as we had already found out the kitchen was due to stop cooking at 8. It took her nearly 15 minutes to get our meal order taken, because the meal orders are done at the bistro bar, and the bar staff were flat out serving a constant stream of party goers wanting great jugs of beer and whatever else they were drinking refilled, some politely, some not. Then more of them would arrive and seeing as one of their fellow "party mates" were already being served at the bar, they’d let them butt in as well.
Nice....Oh well, at least the bar staff apologized for the delay...
Because it was so busy at the bar constantly, my wife thought it would be a good idea for us to get a jug for our own table, then we could just refill our own drinks as needed. But we couldn't. ALL the jugs were already in use by the party.
For the next 3/4 hour, we watched meal after meal come tearing out of the kitchen, thinking surely the next one of those has to be ours. So much for the kitchen closing at 8...
Finally at 8:50pm we got our steaks, and...yeah... a free floor show as well. Some drunken lady staggering around slopping her drink asking us and everyone else if they having a good time? And then the bar staff stopped the party tab. They must of maxed out their credit limit...that didn’t go down too well. After some colorful language from the party goers and some intense negotiations with the senior bar management, the tab was re-started, and we decided to leave the revelers to it before anything else happened.
So check if there’s a party on if you intend to have a meal here, you might just get more than you bargained for.....

Needed somewhere to kill time and have dinner before a trip up the road to see the penguins.
This was recommended to us and it didn’t disappoint! A play room for our 4 year old was perfect as it kept her entertained. As for the meals, no one was left hungry - the serving sizes were great, and best of all, delicious. Speaking of which, the Turkish Delight Panookie for dessert..... OMG! Yum!
Staff were super friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our evening here.

Lovely hotel right in town. Older style rooms but very big and all the ammenties needed.super Comfy bed. Great staff super friendly. Lovely food. Very happy. 5 star.
