Ate here 2 nights in a row. Fish very fresh and they take many precautions for gluten free, including grilling fish on foil and having a dedicated fryer for French fries. Staff were all very helpful and courteous. Between the two of us & two...dinners, we had 4 different kinds of fish - all very good. Green salad was excellent & portion generous. Not a fancy place and in the same building as a gas station - so not the ambiance of a fancy restaurant - but recommended!More

Astonishingly good

The best fish and chips I can ever remember eating. We just had whiting, one serve battered, one served crumbed. The fish was delicious - fresh and succulent and the outside perfectly crisp. It isn't the most salubrious setting but the food is so good...it doesn't matter.More

Excellent fresh fish

I went there and purchased fresh fish to cook at home. The staff were friendly and helpful. The fish I purchased was delicious cooked at home. I recommend this shop.

Great Seafood Lunch

Lucked out and got an assorted seafoods lunch for 6 of us eating in the shop. Everyone was happy. They were doing a busy takeaway business and you could get assorted seafood to take home and cook yourself too.

Fantastic seafood

Great place for some of the best seafood I've had and quite reasonably priced as well. Located attached to the Ampol service station with ample parking out the back. Has a few tables available to dine in. Is extremely popular so may find a table...difficult to obtain. The fish is extremely fresh and beautifully cooked and good sized portionsMore

World class fish and chips

This looks very unprepossessing as you drive along the main road into Kingscote. It shares its building with a gas station and looks like, well what it is, a chip shop! Do not be put off. It is spotlessly clean, friendly and it serves superb...fish and chips (or chicken nuggets etc) The batter is to die for, the fish is moist and cooked perfectly, chips are good too. We had a salad with ours- this was also excellent and generous. Worth a detour!More

Fish was good

The fish was good and fresh. They batter and then fry the fish rather than batter a bunch ahead of time. Batter could use a tad more seasoning, in my opinion. It's hard to find a place to sit that isn't under a gale force...wind from the ceiling vents.More

Fresh seafood cooked perfectly

Seafood options are extensive but you can’t go past the fresh whiting and fresh calamari, which we had crumbed. Menu and combinations options are extensive. Chips are great.

Good Service, Great Chips

We have been twice on this trip & the fish (whiting) was good & the chips were crunchy. The serving staff were friendly as well.

Average.

Nice friendly staff but we have had BETTER seafood. Mostly frozen stuff. NO sea scallops or nice fresh prawns. Cooked King George whiting was very average.

Some of the freshest seafood we have eaten

Arrived on the Island and did not feel like cooking first night. Went looking for this establishment based on the TA reviews. It had some of the freshest seafood we have eaten. The King George Whiting was superb. Service was great and there is plenty...of parking.More
