A group of 10 of us went here for dinner we were booked in for 6.30pm and found the service very slow as we got our food an hour and 20 minutes later. Drink service was also very slow. But on saying that the food flavors were amazing as we knew it would be as we entered and the scents of the spices being cooked took us on a journey before we had even sat down. One of the best Indians we have ever eaten.

Not being regular diners at Indian restaurants, we probably only dined at Indii because of few other choices in Clare on a Monday night. Our recommendation would be to make it your dining destination regardless of the night. Fabulous drinks menu (as you would expect in Clare), good service, and a comfortable modern restaurant that thankfully was not adorned with Taj Mahal pictures, Hindu Gods, and Hindustani music. The highlight though is the food. Simply outstanding flavours and spices. Punjabi butter chicken and Goat roganjosh are both signature dishes and excellent, but there is a very extensive menu which no doubt will contain your favourite. Our allocation of four stars rather than five just reflects that we thought it quite expensive for regional Indian fare.

My wife and I enjoyed a superb meal here last night. All of the dishes were superb especially the butter chicken (blows all other renditions of this classic out of the water!) and the Masala Puri (puffed crisp dough balls filled with Bombay style stuffing and chutney).
The drinks selection is outstanding and well-priced with strong focus (rightly) on Clare Valley wines, while the ambience and service is first class. A genuine must-visit.

We came to this restaurant as they are able to cater for most food allergies, in our case GF and DF for my partner. We ordered the Chicken Madras, beef Bombay and Garlic and cheese naan. Both of the curry dishes were average at best, with the chicken madras having only a small amount of chicken in it. The naan was probably the worst one I had ever eaten. It had no flavour at all, I could not taste either garlic or cheese and it was really oily. I would not recommend this restaurant

We had a golf trip to Clare and needed a group friendly dinner on a Sunday night.
We were very impressed with our Indii experience.
We ordered the butter chicken, beef vindaloo (hot requested), chicken korma and lamb madras, a selection of naan and a couple of accompaniments.
The only food criticism was that the vindaloo (while ordered as "hot") didn't meet our hot curry lovers in the group expectations but a side of fresh chillis certainly helped.
The service was very good, but they didn't allow BYO and that was a bit disappointing, but we found a couple of wine options on the wine list.
I would highly recommend Indii if you find yourself in Clare and good Indian food is what you are looking for.

Indii was recommended and we enjoyed our meal. Couple of areas for improvement exist:
- We asked our waiter for recommendations but she couldnt/wouldnt provide any which given the extensive menu would have been beneficial.
- The brochure in our B&B stated BYO allowed so we took a couple of very good bottles to enjoy for my birthday. When we got there the manager said they don't allow BYO given their licence. I accept that the brochure might have been dated but in looking at the the liquor licence for this venue there are no restrictions on BYO. We would have been happy to pay a decent corkage given the age and quality of the wine we brought. We ended up buying a young, modest wine at a very high mark up given it was a local wine.
So we were happy enough with the food and place itself but were disappointed with the wine experience, which is important for us.

Indii of Clare is an excellent Indian restaurant offering an extensive menu and many interesting dishes not commonly available. We particularly enjoyed the tandoori mushrooms, goat curry and a very delicious daal tadka. The service was both friendly and prompt and the restaurant is very modern and tastefully decorated. We were only staying very briefly in the region but would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Do book however as they were very busy on the Monday evening when we visited.

While staying in Clare we heard good things about this restaurant. The first night was great, getting 3 dishes plus rice and naan sharing between 4 people. Went back a few nights later and ordered different dishes. Everything we ordered was so yum. The only thing is there’s not much meat you get in a serving for the price you pay. Staff were friendly. Would highly recommend!

We are house sitting in Clare and whenever we ask locals for suggested highlights, Indii is mentioned.
We visited for lunch and as soon as we entered, we knew it was no ordinary Indian restaurant.
Crisp white tablecloths, a beautiful display cellar ( as you would expect inClare) and a professional friendly host.
We chose the chilli mango scallops and chicken tikka ( my personal favourite) followed by goat curry ( his personal favourite) with Dahl, breads and rice.
We knew that was too much but thought we could take the leftovers home to enjoy again.
The scallops and chicken were beautifully presented and tasted equally spectacular.
His first taste of the goat led to exclamations of delight. Even I had to admit that the flavours were beautiful. This is a big admission from a non goat lover. The Dahl was the only small remnant of our meal we were able to take home.
Don’t miss Indii if you are in Clare.
It is open 7 days for lunch and dinner.
Alternatively, we were told there is a Indii flavours in North Adelaide and the staff alternate between the two.

Passing through Clare and noticed signage. Decided to chance it and were blownaway by the quality and wider than usual range of styles on offer. Had tarka dahl, hyderabad 'dum style' (slow cooked in sealed pot) chicken and lamb in cashew (?patliana) with naan and rice. All three curries were excellent and we will detour if necessary to return. Staff were very attentive, not invasive, and knowledgeable. This is the best indian cuisine we have had in Australia. With a beer and a cocktail it cost less than $100. Do yourself a favour and visit.

I was here with my husband on a Friday night and it was quite busy. After reading previous reviews we booked ahead and were seated at a nice table. We had Beef Vindaloo (medium) on staff recommendation which was the right amount of heat. Really enjoyed the food and the staff were very friendly. Wine was expensive however it did compliment the food well.

Made a last minute booking and the team was customer experience orientated with a welcome, friendly service and attentiveness throughout our meal. Then great tasting food of Charcoal Chicken Tikka was tender and tasty. Buttah Kebab, Madras Curry medium, Raita, garlic Naan and Mango Lassi were all beautiful. Even the complimentary pappadams, sometimes elsewhere prepared early in the night and left sitting, were fresh and tasty.

Booked for Sunday lunch for 2 at 12.45. Bottom line was that the meal took almost 2 hours for 2 courses, one course of which was a shared starter. Friendly service, excellently presented, but the mains took well over an hour from the time of ordering. Not really that crowded but there was a flow of people picking up takeaway orders. I would probably give the food 5 stars (delicately combined flavours, well presented), but 2 starts deduction for the delays..

Highly recommend Indii of Clare. We celebrated my husband’s birthday there and we couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable evening. The food was sensational, the staff went above and beyond to make it a very special celebration and it was the best Indian food we’ve ever experienced. We’ll definitely return. Ordered the Hariyali fish which was described on the menu as...
"Fresh spinach mint marinated charcoal cooked fish"
Well the spinach gravy was the main dish not the fish. If the fish was charcoal cooked one couldn't tell as it was buried in a soup of saag. I have since found photos on the net of Hariyali fish where the grilled fish seems to be the hero of the dish topped in a spinach marinade unlike find the fish in the gravy that was served at Indii.
I have visited this restaurant often and have previously sang its praises but not on this occasion. The second disappointment was the "mushroom Jalfrezi"..again the mushroom should be the hero of this dish not the tomato onion gravy.
Too many Indian restaurants rely on the fact many diners think of Indian dishes as curries and accept the fact that they are served masala gravies as a substitute for substance and of course there is greater profits serving sauces than decent portions of meat and fish.
The reason I used to love this particular restaurant was the delicate flavours and the minimal serves of gravies, but things have changed.
Not sure what has transpired but guess I'll explore alternative eating houses, though many are simply disappointing.
