My wife and I had dinner at Connors last night. The lamb meat balls and the lemon myrtle squid were a great start to the night. Beef cheek and barramundi were delightful. Date pudding and apricot pie were really nice. The service was faultless: leaving us time to consider the menu and between courses. The waiter was happy to pass our request for custard with the pudding to the chef. The restaurant has a good view out of floor to ceiling windows but it was dark and raining last night. We were tempted to have a port near the open fire on the way out but decided to leave it for next time.

Connors has such a great vibe, and the staff including the kitchen staff, make it an excellent experience that keeps up coming back time and time again ....
I would love to see a change in the menu though .... we have tasted all of it over again .... I think you should keep a few favourites but add some new choices and taste sensations :)

It's easy to dismiss hotel restaurants as that convenient spot for business travellers to grab dinner but being a bit boring. Conners feels like a hidden gem in Clare with great food that isn't pretentious and over priced. The Kangaroo is my go-to dish which always goes well with a glass of local shiraz. The staff are friendly and Leah and Kayla go out of their way to look after you. Breakfast was good and it was nice to see the buffet back with a good selection on offer.

We chose to eat here because we arrived at 6pm and didn't fancy leaving the property. There were a few issues and the place was devoid of any atmosphere. The waiter tried hard but needs some training. Food was just reasonable and the wine list needs an up date. Put some music on and liven the place , the menu and the wine list up and you'll pack it out every night.

Came here for dinner on a whim. Staff were amazing. Restaurant tables spaced out and staff atttentive. Food was amazing with attention to detail and locsl produce, all at reasonable prices. A place hidden away a little but worth finding, at the Clare Countty Club.

Had breakfast and dinner in Conners. Breakfast was busy but we enjoyed our feed, felt sorry for the staff dealing with some difficult guests! Dinner was great, service was spot on and really enjoyed the kangaroo.

First time here..I must say i have been through Clare over 100+ times and stayed overnight in other hotels/motels a few times.The meal,service is up there to 1st class..We wil be back

We had one dinner and 3 breakfasts at Conners and could not fault either the dinner and especially the breakfasts.
The dinner menu has plenty to select from, prices were acceptable and the wine list featured a number of smaller Clare Valley wineries. Service was quick and helpful especially selecting wines.
The breakfasts were great, all the food was hot in the self serve area and there was a large variety to select from. Service from the staff was quick and pleasant and congrats to the Chefs for great offerings.

On our visit to Conners restaurant at the Clare Clountry Club, we had a disappointing night. We chose to stay at the Clare Country Club because it had a (well reviewed) restaurant, meaning we didn't have to travel eleswhere to eat.
From the very start, our experience was disappointing. I asked at reception about making a restaurant booking and was told it was optional - certainly not told to make a booking to guarantee a table. Yes, you guessed, no booking, come back in an hour.
We arrived later and were seated. (Being night, why are diners seated looking out into the darkness looking at the reflection of other diners in the window?) We were asked if we would like water, yes thanks. After waiting a further 20 minutes and being ignored, we finally got one of the two waiters' attention and asked if we could order some wine and to avoid further delays, our meals. The first wine we chose wasn't available. The second wine we chose, was also not available. Finally we agreed on something else that was available. After being there an hour, we finally received our meal. Overall, the food was not very good. Where was the sauce? The chef needs to take more notice of Manu (from My Kitchen Rules) - always serve a sauce with a meat dish.
After we had finished our dinner, it was time to settle up. We received the bill but the waiter noticed that the wine had not been included. We got the amended bill - but it wasn't ours, it was someone else's bill. Anyway, finally we got our bill - at least I think it was ours. I just signed it just to get out of the place.
Overall, this was not a pleasant dining experience. I have highlighted the difficulties we encountered in the hope these might be corrected to save further embarassment of staff and frustration of diners.

I am most disappointed to learn of your recent dining experience in Conners Restaurant. We regularly receive high quality feedback for both the quality of our meals and the service we provide and I can only apologise that your experience did not meet those expectations. We certainly should be securing a reservation for our guests in the Restaurant on arrival to the hotel, and apologise that this wasn't done for you and therefore left you waiting for your dinner booking on what was obviously a very busy evening. I can also only apologise that there were delays in the service provided to you and a mix up with your account at the end of the evening. We will certainly provide your feedback to our team so that we can continue to improve on the quality of service and the produce we provide, and do hope that we may have the opportunity to welcome you back again to deliver on the standard that we pride ourselves on.

We visited Conners restaurant in the Clare Valley Country Club as a group of 4 couples celebrating 2 birthdays. We ate at Conners for convenience as we were staying at the Country Club.
The choice of food was really good, a great variety.
Every meal that came out looked great and tasted equally good. Great choice, great presentation and great staff.
Only minor criticism was that they didn’t need to squeeze 8 people around such a small table set up, there was lots of elbow banging and struggling to find a spot to put your wine glass down.

Always and consistantly great food and even better staff and management.
We are regulars as we appreciate quality service and quality food .... although we would love to see a bit more variety in the specials menu to create a bit more choice for us ..... the regulars!

After a 2 hour drive to arrive at the country club, we have a very enjoyable dinner in the Clare Country Club restaurant. While the restaurant decor is a little dated, it remains a pleasant venue. Dining during daylight would certainly provide a more entertaining outlook.
The service was prompt and very friendly and the food was plentiful and very enjoyable. So for a regional restaurant I rate it as a 4, however in the city it would be a 3.

We had dinner here upon arriving and staying at the Clare Country Club.
It is a comfortable venue offering a good offering of food. It was quiet on the Friday evening that we attended. I don’t mind that. Would be happy to recommend.
