It's tapas style, so sharing is the best way to go. I have to say the service was excellent, staff were all very friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious, but be warned, if you're on a tight budget Mr Mick is expensive. We've been here twice now and I'd recommend going with the chef's selections option for the best value.

The rose’ is light and delicate and the muscat is divine with hints of rose petals- they have a muscat spritzer which is great to sip as you eat the food. It’s tapas style and very filling- we had haloumi chips, excellent fried potatoes, pita bread with a tasty corn dip and olive tapenade, Greek salad and a pear and balsamic vinegar salad, tomato arancini, fabulously soft and creamy broccoli and feta croquettes, as well as squid and crab. All came with a variety of well made sauces and glazes. We sat outside and there was a guitar player who contributed enjoyable background music. Service was good and all in all it was extremely good.

A great place to enjoy a tapas style lunch, the menu is so varied we struggled to narrow down a few dishes to share. Every dish we chose was perfect and we paired it with Mr Mick wine by the glass too. As an added bonus we got a discount at the cellar door where we purchased some wine to take home. You can have the chefs selection of tapas if you find it hard to decide.

Made a booking indoor only to be told on arrival that they are capacity inside. We understand there is covid restrictions however these aren't new and the indoor seating limits were already in place at the time of booking so they should have accounted for this and advised so we could have booked lunch elsewhere.
The outdoor seating is shaded but still allows light through, leaving me quite sunburnt. The service was average however the time it took to get the food was long. From the time of being seated it took an hour to get our 4th serve of tapas so we cancelled the final plate.
Food was average and about $20 a serve.

Nice cellar door area for wine tasting. Friendly and nice tasting. Was a nice prelude to an amazing lunch. We had the feed me selecttion by the chef's. Six dishes plus sides and salad and dessert. All good made homestyle tapas which were very tasty. We left not being able to eat another bite a great deal for $60 each.

My husband and I were booked in for lunch at Mr. Mick Cellar Door and Kitchen (initially as part of a Riesling trail bike tour) Unfortunately I woke up that morning with a very sore back and had to ditch the bikes. We went to the restaurant to have lunch anyway. The staff , and especially the lady that was front of house, were so accommodating and mindful of the pain I was in and seated us outside in the beautiful garden setting with comfortable chairs. Nothing was a problem for them. We had the chefs selection menu and the first couple of tapas offerings which was delicious. Unfortunately by this point my back was getting much worse and we had to leave. The staff were great and insisted that they make up some takeaway containers that we could take with us. They didn’t even charge us for the two drinks we had! Could not have got any better service and would definitely recommend!

We had the Chefs tapas selection of 6 courses which was brilliant and great value for money, plus the wine paring. The squid, pork belly and dessert were the standouts. The staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend a visit and we shall return.

What a delightful place this is... lovely ambience lovely waitpersons. Good menu true to the descriptions and very reasonable prices for the food plus the wine. The girls were chatty and friendly and very efficient. Lovely sitting outside under the trees not rushed but tapas of course is like that the time is taken to enjoy the taste and the different dishes.
All in all a great and surprising experience!

We chose the $55 per head lunch and we were provided with a great range of items from the menu with too much to eat. The food was all very tasty. Some of the dishes we were served was squid, tuna, dips, potatoes, lamb (very nice), lamingtons (for australia day only). All of the dishes were top quality and a great way taste a lot of the menu. You need to book to make sure of a table.

This was our second visit to Mr Mick's and we weren't disappointed.
Absolutely love the share menu, and would highly recommend the lemon myrtle squid, and the Chennai India Barra. The food service was quick, everything cooked perfectly, and packing a lot of flavour.
We then did a tasting at the cellar door nextdoor and used the 10% off voucher we got with the lunch bill to buy some wine.
We'll definitely be back!!
Just a note that we went on a weekday and the kitchen shut at 2pm, so don't rock up later and miss out.

We had a delightful, tapas style lunch, sharing a few dishes between the two of us. We started with bread, olive oil and dukkah, then progressed to vegetarian croquettes, followed by the barramundi and greens. We finished with a marinated chicken dish. All very nice. We would return here again.

My daughter and I shared 4 dishes and a bread. Unfortunately the bread with dukkah was the tastiest of all the things we ordered. The lemon myrtle squid was the best tapas dish with a really lovely flavour itself, but the dipping sauce was sickly sweet, so I ended up eating it without any sauce. The next up was the stuffed mushroom, which didn’t seem to have the spinach stuffing as advertised, but rather just more mushrooms. The rocket pesto was the highlight of this dish. Next came the duck salad with some fancy kind of cous cous, which was giant in size (almost like a pea) compare to standard cous cous (which I like) and had a weird texture. This dish lacked any real flavour except the duck meat itself, the most disappointing dish of the day. Last came the beef brisket with slaw and jalapeño and lime dressing. It was flavoursome but the dressing didn’t really have that chilli tangy flavour I was expecting just a hint of lime and virtually no heat. Not horrible food by any means but just average, which given the reviews I had read that motivated me to try three times to get in before getting a booking, was really disappointing.

Nice winery to stop at in the heart of Clare. Restaurant offers tapas style food and wines from both Mr Mick and Tim Adams. Also had a few craft beer brews on the menu all from SA. We decided on the dips and pita bread plus pork belly on mash with pumpkin. Dips freshly made, tasty and quite a good serve for the price. Pork belly cost $22 and was a great size for a lunch meal, not to mention taste... wow! Could’ve eaten two serves. Service came with a smile while all waitresses made us feel welcome and “at home”. Sampled the Mr Mick Pinot Grigio and Tim Adams Riesling. Great choice to go with our meals. Highly recommend but would suggest booking as seats as limited.

Called in for a wine tasting & it cost $10 for 5 tastings.
We found the person who served us cold & was quite abrupt over the $10 charge. We chose the wines from a tick & flick form.There was no personal interaction, no conversation. We didn’t mind paying, as we understand companies are doing it tough these days. We did not like the quality of the wine or port which we tasted. We won’t be calling in when we next visit Clare.

Have had a lovely weekend in Clare with my family. Great service and beverages at Jeanneret and Clare Valley Brewing, as well as Clos Clare Winery. Extremely dissatisfied with Mr Mick Wines. The lady who served us was moody, not engaging and couldn’t care less. When asked if she was okay she replied with ‘can’t wait for the day to be over’. Supposed to be 20ml in the glass for tasting at $10 and we were lucky if there was 10ml poured. Not to mention the brut which was flat! We certainly won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.
