From the time we arrived we were very well looked after with superb service from several of the waitresses during our meal. The meals we had were beautifully presented, good sized portions and very tasty. We loved the whole experience and would highly recommend Ton Khao Bistro at Mooloolaba to anyone looking for good authentic thai food and great service at a very reasonable price.

In a highly competitive ‘eating area’ and an abundance of Thai restaurants in the locality, what sets this apart was the attention to detail. From perusing the menu to the time of leaving we were excellently looked after and engaged by the staff and management. The menu has a few different choices from your standard and is well constructed. The entrees we had were wonderful (Rhoti chicken curry, scallops and pork skewers) and set the scene. Followed by mains of two versions of Pad Thai, a mixed seafood (very generous), sizzling lamb (slightly overcooked for my western tastes) and two different Tom Yum. Thank-you to the floor staff who were lovely and attentive. Definitely to become a Thai choice of preference.

The food was very good, with a-lot of interesting flavors that went deeper than a typical meal of this genre/price. They are definitely punching above their belt. The menu has a very large selection and there is a-lot to choose from.
The atmosphere is good, very lively with vibrant vibe - it's in a great location with plenty of scenery and people watching if you need conversation starters.
The only negative was that our table did seem to be forgotten for a while, they were busy, but I can't let that go. That said, the staff were very accommodating, pleasant and professional.
All in all the experience was very much above average though, and the price was pleasantly lower than I expected for the caliber of food.

Food was ok, although sauces were very watered down and not as flavoursome as I expected.
Service was very slow as they were completely under staffed, yet they still charged a 15% charge for public holiday....
When asked whilst paying how the food was, I politely told the girl all of the above and she seemed very disinterested
Won’t be going back there.

We couldn’t decide on dinner while on holiday, we chose Thai as this is a favourite take away option for us back home. Upon arrival the staff were very approachable and laid back. We were greeted immediately with fresh cutlery and plates.
My drinks order was a xxxx gold which was served with an ice cold glass, nothing better then that a small touch made it so much more enjoyable.
We ordered veggie spring rolls, veggie panang curry and prawn & veggie pad Thai ( our go to Thai meals ). Entree spring rolls were served within 10 minutes, once these were finished they were followed by our mains within 5 minutes.
Panang curry was delicious light-medium chilli heat and packed full of flavour.
Pad Thai was also delicious with decent serving of prawns and veggies, with a good amount of sauce on the noodles.
Throughout our dining we were checked on twice by staff to ensure we were happy with our meals which was great. Upon paying for our meals the staff checked again that were were happy with the food we paid for. No complaints here, very fast and high quality authentic Thai food. Would defiantly be a go to if we were locals. Will be back if we are here again.

Once again many thanks to fellow TA Reviewers for pointing out this restaurant in Mooloolaba and better still suggesting the Crispy Pork Dish. It was very very good.
Great help from the restaurant manageress in suggesting and changing a menu dish to accomodate her dislike of tofu. Very attentive service from the waiter and waitress.
All in all a great meal and a restaurant we will use again during our stay in Mooloolaba. Recommended.

Excellent Thai food cooked the authentic way with fresh Mooloolaba seafood and local produce. The staff are exceptional and the venue is so convenient and walking distance from most resorts in Mooloolaba. They cater for dietary requirements, wheelchair access, high chairs a bar and inside outside dining. The owners have operated their business in a truly professional way for over 7 years in Mooloolaba and that is something for them to pay themselves on the back about. 🙏

As a frequent Thai food consumer and a lot of restaurants closed on Monday evenings I was happy to see this place open this night. Going online to order my take away it said my order would be read in 35 minutes. When I arrived 45 minutes later I was told it wasn't ready and will be another 10 minutes. I know other Thai restaurants supply rice when you order your meal, but not this place. It's extra.
I had ordered a green curry with chicken and a Pad Thai with beef. Both of these meals were unbelievably bad.
The green curry I could push the four pieces of chicken and very little else into half the container with the juice in the rest.
The Pad Thai was just a horrible brown colour with the meat overcooked and tough. It looked like it had been in a pot for a number of hours. There was no colour presentation to it whatsoever.
Never have I been so disappointed in a meal. When I rang them up to complain I also declined a replacement meal as I was just disgusted and over it. On the positive side, the rice was ok.
I will never even go near this 'restaurant' again.

Ton Khao Bistro Thai Restaurant is a stand for affordable and flavors that are stand outs every time. Recently we had a birthday and the owner and staff were great - friendly and we call this a regular restaurant we have turned to this restaurant again and again. Excellent Thai cuisine for young and old. The food is 5 out of 5! Run by a true Thai restaurant with the staff. Friendly, the best we've sound in Mooloolaba.

Ordered food online, to take away. Food was ready in the time frame promised. Staff were very happy and friendly. The food was only warm and not hot. Both chicken dishes only had around 4 bits of chicken in each dish. The Chicken Cashew Nut had lots of vegetables which was nice. The Penang was mostly just sauce and lacked both meat and vegetables. Coconut rice tasted like regular rice. This meal was $40 total as the website offers a 20% discount for all online ordered for pick-up. Overall, nothing about this meal blew my mind but for $40 it was ok. Will probably try a different Thai takeaway next time.

I ordered beef with Chilli and basil and garlic and ginger chicken with Thai fried rice with vegetables.
I actually ordered this two nights and it was delicious both nights but also slightly different which showed that it is all hand made and very fresh.
Really fresh, clean tastes and very happy to cater for gluten free.

Such a relief to dine out and have the food AND service exceed your expectations.
This is a gem of a restaurant- the chef and the staff are to be commended: the food was Devine, served with a smile ( nothing was a difficulty) and the price is so very moderate.

An unassuming venue just off the main drag of Mooloolaba, this restaurant had escaped our attention until last night when we were wandering, undecided what and where to eat.
After our experience were delighted that we had finally noticed it. The food was flavoursome and just the right amount of heat for Western palates. The service, particularly from Soni and Men, even exchanging an empty gas bottle for the overhead heater because I was finding it a tad chilly, was fantastic and always with a wide smile.
Add to that the food was very reasonable priced. Then add to that it is BYO wine.
All good reasons to return.

First time at Ton Khao what a delightful surprise although the venue is unassuming the food was brilliant so fresh so well cooked, the service was excellent with " a nothing is too much trouble" attitude. We had such a wonderful evening all at a reasonable price. Do yourself a favour and try this little gem in the heart of Mooloolaba.

Firstly the staff were absolutely wonderful. They were so lovely and attentive, they had a great relationship with some customers who were obviously regulars and it was great to see!
The food was absolutely amazing, hats off to the chef because it was all delicious. The satay chicken was the best we have had in years and the friend snapper was so well flavoured. We had a MASSIVE feed and it was so affordable for what it was.
Rest assured we will be back to try the rest of the menu very soon. A well-deserved number one position.
