Staff were friendly, service was quick, and food was great too. Pricing was moderate with serving size plentiful (ordered Breakfast Wrap and Big Breakfast).
Location right next to the beach was great. Would recommend!

Twelve mains on the lunch menu all around $30.00 and five starters from $12 to $20. The house made nachos were a generous serve and very tasty. The house salad was crisp and fresh, and the steak sandwich also tasty.
This is the second time we'd been to Deja Vu (deja vu) – attracted back by the quality and value of the food of our first visit.
A very pleasant semi-alfresco setting with friendly and attentive service.
Parking can be a challenge around Mooloolaba.

We have been disappointed in the past with service here but to be fair, it is often just who is on the shift. This time we were quite happy with good coffee and a great selection of cake. It is quite expensive though. There is usually a special of the day with coffee and cake which is not bad - but if you chose your own you can be paying around $14 for coffee and cake. Nice to sit outside along the busy and bustling Eplanade in Moolooaba though.

Really disappointed with the cost and service.
We went to order, I picked something to eat and ordered a med $6.30 coffee. I paid and then realized we could actually sit down over the other side of the path. We were told we ordered takeaway, but the waitress reluctantly gave us a seat . Sitting there waiting for my coffee, I thought it was expensive, I was thinking it was a mistake, I returned to where I ordered and was told it was correct. Instead of a $6.30 med coffee, was given a tiny glass of undrinkable strong coffee with whipped cream. More than $4 for the cream on top.

What you want from a cafe is good food, delicious cakes and slices and of course excellent coffee. Just as important though is the quality of the staff.
De Ja Vu Cafe has wonderful owners and staff. Engaging and generous in their interaction with customers, you could not ask for a more delightful experience. During our 3-week holiday in Mooloolaba, we dined at De Ja Vu most days. Over time my wife and I developed warm relationships with many of the staff and the owner of this family business.
The coffee and food tasted even better as a result!
Try De Ja Vu Cafe; you won’t want to change!

We stopped here on our very rainy morning walk just for a coffee and were pleasantly surprised. We had banana bread and a muffin with our coffee and were very impressed even with such a little thing. Coffee was excellent and orange poppy seed muffin was beautifully presented and perfect temperature; banana bread with cinnamon date butter was lovely and again beautifully presented with a little edible flower. Will be back for a real breakfast soon - but given the polite staff and better than expected food on a morning when most places were closed due to bad weather, this is sure to be on our regulars list.

I didn’t understand (and still don’t) why is this cafe SO EXPENSIVE. Everything is “normal” execpt for the food that comes REALLY small for the price you’re paying. I got the Truffle mushroom one and $29 dollars for 1 piece of bread, 1 egg, a teaspoon of feta and few mushs it’s definitely WAY too expensive.
The pancakes (the photo is not how they come, i’ve already eaten) and the coffee are good tho.

I went here today with my family we go 1 cheesecake & 1 blueberry muffin, i was charged nearly $10 for 1 piece if cheesecake so i was expecting quite a large size but it was so small for the price, the cheesecake was so dry we could bearly swallow it then come to find there was hair stuck to the back of it. Then our muffin was discusting had this fishy taste to it as well as just pure flour, says they are in house made & sold they should consider not making them. The food was so unpleasant it all went into the bin i will never eat there again, overpriced & inedable, inedable especially when they refuse to refund.

De ja vu was a great restaurant, the food was really good and the staff were so nice and kind. The coffee was a very generous serving however their juices weren’t the best but their milkshakes were actually quite nice. The kids pancakes weren’t pancakes they were more of a pancake but they were one of the best I’ve ever had I’d rate them a 9/10. The avocado toast was easy to cut off not and the fruit toast was delicious. I would definitely eat here again and would recommend it to others.

I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for 8 years now and hardly ever go to De Ja Vu even though we eat out in the local area every weekend. Every 9-12months we decide to give this restaurant another go, and every time I regret that decision.
The food is average, not awful but certainly nothing to rave about, especially with so many cafes nearby that are excellent. The service is poor, the waitresses say hi and seem friendly..ish but it is clear they do not have proper hospitality training. When our food arrived, almost an hour after ordering I asked for table water. I was then told it was self serve, we should have been notified this on arrival. I didn’t want to leave my meal to go and get water but would have happily done that earlier If I’d known.
My husband finishes before me and his plate was cleared almost immediately, along with the Salt and pepper, and our drinks. Leaving only my plate on the table.
Overall this is an average restaurant that clearly gets customers because of its excellent location. I hope they do improve but I won’t be revisiting.
My recommendation is to walk a little further up the esplanade and visit some other nice cafes with that serve delicious meals with terrific service.

Hi there,
We are disappointed to hear that you didn't enjoy your time dining with us. Although we do agree our location is excellent, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent food, coffee and service to patrons as our number one priority.
I have passed your feedback on to the owner, and we hope that if you choose to dine with us again, we can live up to the standard we love to provide locals and holidaymakers alike.

Fabulous spot for breakfast. Food was absolutely delicious. As a group we have a number of dietary requirements and they catered to all of them. Great price for great quality food. And the service was fabulous too. The young man who served us was so polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. He interacted with your group of middle aged ladies and he was a delight. Highly recommended spot to enjoy the best of Mooloolaba.

Rude management and staff who disrespectful treatment law abiding elderly customers over checking in QR code. Insisted on checking our mobile phones for names when they clearly saw we had checked in corrected and were wearing masks as required. Tasteless coffee and stale cake provided as coffee & cake special. As elderly customers we were spoken to as if we were imbecilic children and considered as though we lacked understanding of covid safe regulations. Will never go there again.

You can tell from the outset this is a popular place amongst locals and tourists as their regular spot - and with good reason.
The coffee is good, the food is delicious with adequate portions, but the highlight for us was the staff that were both efficient and incredibly friendly.
Don't miss out on browsing the pastry cabinets before you take your seat!
A prime location in a tourist hot spot is of course not going to have budget prices but it's certainly reasonable.
When the weather is good, grab a spot nearest the beach and enjoy the view. There's plenty of shade on offer - and lots of places to sit even during wet weather.
Will definitely be going back again.

My partner and I attended a family breakfast here and we could not believe there were no vegan options listed on the menu. The young girl who served us was extremely helpful and kept going back to the kitchen to check what they could do for us. In the end they couldn’t guarantee us certain things were vegan and left us with no options to order. The rest of our party who aren’t vegan ordered drinks and food for themselves while I had to go for a walk to find something that I could bring back to the table. Very disappointing to see in this day and age that this business is still behind the eight ball.

My family and I went to De Ja Vu for lunch and were delighted by the friendly staff and quick service. The food was fantastic, but what really made this a memorable experience was just how approachable and kind the staff were.
With cafes, typically you have to find your own seat, but here we were personally seated by the staff, who made us feel welcome. Not to mention the fact that all seating is under shades, which is just lovely to ensure nobody gets sunburnt during lunch!
Our mood was then further boosted by the fabulous food (definitely try the Barramundi!!) and great drinks. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area and looking for a great spot for breakfast/lunch.
