We tried this place for the first time on Friday night. We were pleasantly surprised with good service and good food. I had the rump chips and salad which I really enjoyed. The rump was perfect in all ways and my wife had a schnitzel...which she was very happy with. After this good experience we decided to go back for dinner on Sunday night as my wife really wanted to try the steak. Unfortunately we had a totally different experience. First we ordered drinks and then looked at the menu before ordering our meals. After a little wait I noticed a waiter carrying a plate of food around and then return to the kitchen, he than repeated this. On his third attempt he actually approached us and asked if we ordered a rump cooked rare. I told him I did so he said the other one is on its way and sat it on the table and took off. He quickly returned with the other meal and sat it down. I than asked him where the salad was as we both ordered salad. He replied with “we’ve run out”, I than asked him where Our drinks were as we ordered them before ordering the meals and we’re still waiting, he said they were in the way. The drinks finally turned up as we were over half way through our meals. The steaks were very ordinary, they were chewy with a lot of fat and sinew. I couldn’t believe how different our 2 visits were. Not sure if I will make a third attempt.More

For a midweek dine out experience my partner and I decided to try a new bar and grill we’ve never been to before. Corner Pocket had the best views and the menu looked mouth watering! We arrived and were greeted by an amazing waitress with...the best personality. We ordered a few drinks and decided on our mains. Not long after my partner sat down, the chef came out and apologised about the delay and said he would refund our whole Parmi. We were confused, and went up to the waitress and asked her what was happening with the food. She told us that they had run out of avocado, however my partner looked over into the kitchen and saw said chef scooping out an avocado. Maybe it was for a previous meal, maybe not. But we said we didn’t want a full refund, just give us what you had. Our Breakfast Parmi (which was meant to be served with Bacon, Avocado and Hollandaise Sauce) came out with Ham and Avocado only. So the only thing they said they didn’t have, was in fact the only thing they did have. We also ordered the 300g Rib Eye Fillet cooked medium rare with chips and salad as well as a side of mushroom sauce and aioli. When this main was served to us, there was no aioli, I let the waiter know and he went back to get some for us. We then noticed that our “salad” consisted of nothing but a few bits of wilted rocket and leafy mix. Upon cutting my steak with only the butter knife that was given to us, I noticed it was almost Bleu and was tough to cut. I took my plate up to the chef and let him know not only was the steak not to its standards but there was no “salad” on the plate either, to which he asked me “where’d your salad go?” I don’t know man, you tell me. I said to the chef to save time I was more than happy for him to just chuck it back on the grill for an extra few minutes each side. The waiter brought us out our dish a few minutes later and we were happy to see that not only our steak improved, so did our poor salad. We happily started to dig in, I told my partner the steak didn’t taste right, maybe it just needed some seasoning. He put salt and pepper on it, took a mouthful and agreed that it tasted like it had been frozen, microwaved then cooked up for service. By the end of it we were okay with the Parmi. As we’re finishing our last drinks, we witness what we thought were a couple of young ladies with kids complaining about the food, and after they left, we saw the chef, the barmaid, and the manager standing around their table having a serious conversation and then saw the manager grab a handful of food on one of the plates and eat it, much to our disgust. It was time to go home, we went up to pay our bill and the barmaid asked how everything was, we told her the Parmi was okay, however the steak tasted like it had been frozen, microwaved and then cooked on the grill. To which she replied that they always get amazing compliments about their steaks, however they are frozen and then cooked as per ordering. Overall, the place has so much potential with the spot that it is in, a great venue, however feel as though they need to find a menu that works best for them.More

It wasn't the manager that ate the food but a regular customer. He was very unhappy how the customers acted and said there was nothing wrong with there meals. I apologise for this. We will endeavour to fix this.

Australia Day dinner with wife and another couple. Nice ambience, with young lady singing at the bar. Wife and I ordered the chicken schnitzel. Looked good on arrival. The chicken was golden, hot and tasteful. Sadly the chips were cold. Not tepid or warm, but...frankly cold. Must have been plated at the time of order, then left in wait for the schnitzel. The salad was a bland affair with shredded iceberg lettuce, little diced tomato and supermarket cucumber pieces. No dressing. Tasteless I'm afraid. Started the evening with great expectations, but sadly unmet. We had had much better fare at the surf club on the previous evening.More

Appears to be under new management and definitely going through some growing pains. The waitress took our drink orders and brought my husband a Hann light when he ordered a Heineken, and when he told her she went back behind the bar, and came back...with the same beer and said I don’t know. We ordered an eye fillet with potato and veggies, and a rump steak with chips, salad and creamy garlic sauce. There was so salad with the rump, and the creamy garlic sauce was curdled and flavourless. The eye fillet was beautiful. I feel like there is potential for success here, but many things need improvement.More

Family dinner for 5 while on holidays. The mid week special is what swayed us to dine here. First impressions were not great. The waiter (male) spilt my cocktail and didn’t clean up the spillage. We were then told the rump and brownies (dessert option)...were sold out. We ordered the chicken parmigiana; good size but lacking in flavour so much so our 12 year old commented. My husband ordered the black Angus, he ordered medium but was cooked rare and he described as underwhelming. The side salad was very lacking but in both presentation and flavour. What restaurant uses ice berg lettuce??? The lack of customers speaks volumes, very quiet for school holidays. On the plus side, the waitress who bought our food was friendly and accommodating. The decor was fresh and clean. Overall we wouldn’t recommend.More

I chose the $18 calamari, chips & salad. The chips were not hot so I returned them to the kitchen. The calamari was the smallest serve I have ever had for a main. Salad was ordinary with a tasteless dressing of something mixed with olive...oil. Other customers had the rump steak & seemed reasonably satisfied.More

We visited for the third time and this time was as good as the other. The service was prompt and courteous and the food was excellent as usual. We will certainly be going back again.
