It was supposed to be a celebration of my son's 50th birthday. Our food took over an hour to come and when it did it was cold. The staff were doing their best but were also supposed to be dealing with an event. My husband...is a member of this club but we are unlikely to return. We were given a refund but this does not really make up for the spoilt birthday celebration.More

This establishment used to be wonderful. The small bistro/cafe by the entrance now only serves toasties and chips or lunch leftovers from the cabinet. The main restaurant is divided into two distinctive areas each with a unique ambience. You place your order at the Macdonalds...lookalike counter and take a seat either in the immediate dining area which although carpeted and less noisy, resembles a rest home in furnishing and design, or carry on into the adjacent space enclosed by enormous glass windows overlooking the carpark. This dining space is all hard surface, chairs scraping on vinyl, children shouting and cutlery clanking. Ok if you dont want conversation. Who designed this ghastly ambience? Unfortunately the food adds to the sense of eating in a factory cafe. My partners calamari was straight out of a pre cooked commercial pack, undercooked and swimming in oil, and the tartare sauce had been sitting around as it had a crusted surface. The chips were good. My chicken parmy was ok as were the chips. We also ordered the duck spring rolls which also were out of a commercial pack, tasteless and dry and certainly needed the hoisin sauce dip to make them edible. This is simply not good enough for the price of $60. I advise you not to eat at this club, there are many better e.g Kawana Club or Caloundra Waves or the Met. I am not sure what has happened to this once fabulous place but I shan't be going back.More

Unfortunately only of PUB QUALITY. Prawns appeared overcooked, Yellow Curry was tasty. Pricey for quality ($29?). Go to a resturant. Can't Recommend.

Waited in line for a drink at the bar, finally got to the front of the que and started placing my order with barman Zac, halfway through my order he turned away and served a young girl that walked up to the bar without waiting...and placed her order, she turned to me and said "It's ok he's my friend", He never came back to me so another person served me. POOR FORM.More

A lot has changed since COVID but unfortunately it appears that the RSL has not been listening. The food was delicious but the setting was dated and the tables and chairs were stained and grotty; indeed it will likely be our last visit to this...club as a consequence.More

The four of us attended the RSL for dinner as a last treat on our vacation. One steak ordered rare, overcooked to well done and tough. Two serves of salt & pepper calamari, limp and the two meals didn’t even have the same accompanying sauces!...Chicken satay rice bowl....don’t bother! The staff were lovely they even said if the RSL did a roast they would sell lots more!More

Been here many times as a member but it just is going down down from bad to worse. The food is very limited, bad & no specials. Totally understaffed. Courtesy bus driver thinks he has the right to preach anti-vaccination ( to vulnerable senior citizens)...& is rude. Matt the so called manager is useless dealing with complaints( about this) & has NO customer service or conflict management skills & is rude. Asked Matt to get a (Real) Daytime manager to call me back the next morning & 2 days later - zip nothing. Better off going to the powerboat club .More

Valentine's Dinner was not only a set menu but completely prepaid and booked out, so they knew exactly how many people would be there. So why did we have to stand in a queue of about 2 dozen people at the restaurant door (after already...having stood in a queue to get very slowly signed in at the the front door) because only one person was seating each table and then coming back to get the next, and she was also a waitress. Once seated it took roughly 20 minutes to receive our set bottle of wine, which they did not even pour, we had to send them back to get some water for the table. Eventually the lovely warm bread came, but while it was a decent amount of bread the one tiny packet of butter wasn't going to cover much so by the time we got the attention of eventually 2 different waiters and requested more butter figuring the first person had forgotten, the bread had gone cold. When you consider the menu was a no variation cold seafood platter, for which they did not even have to cook chips, the delays in being seated, getting a drink and getting bread and then getting butter (all up almost an hour) then suddenly the meal arrived mid bread eating - the meal was delicious by the way - but honestly what excuse could they have for those delays when they knew exactly how many people were expected and they didn't even have to time cooking?! Should have been at least 4 extra wait staff on duty.More

Food was lovely in the restaurant and meals brought out all at the same time. Can’t complain about that. But the RSL Club in itself has gone way downhill since I last went. Used to be great before COVID, good music, floor shows, dancing and...a place where the mature people could go and be entertained. Now it is terrible, very noisy, music didn’t start until 9pm last night (Friday) and the sound was terrible. The poor guy singing sang great songs but you couldnt hear the words properly. The place was overrun by teenagers who were on the dance floor drinking alcohol. Fighting took place in the pokie room and security had to come and intervene. Not enough staff serving drinks and the lines were long. Teenagers lining up to get in late were obnoxious and causing trouble. No one in the Cash room so you could cash in your ticket from the pokies. Had to stand there and ring the bell several times before someone came to serve. Staff were run off their feet. Tables not cleaned after people vacated them because of the lack of staff. Heard a few mature people complaining during the night how the place has changed and they wouldn’t be back. I have to say the same for myself. I thought an RSL was a place for the mature person to go and not a night club for teenagers. Looks like that is what it has turned into now. Very disappointed!!!!!!More

Around $5 for a schooner, cheapest in town from memory. About $25 for a bottle of wine.
