Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everyone would enjoy this, the best high tea ever. Treated ourselves to the supreme high tea - the service, food, champagne, tea, atmosphere was magnificent. Treated like royalty and we loved every second of it. The retail range was extraordinary and the museum was simply...divine. There is no way I would ever miss this on a trip to the Blue Mountains.More

Interesting museum and tea house. It houses a collection of 5,500 teapots or more. And we learned the owner has another 5,000 or so in boxes in his home as nowhere to show them. The teapots are wonderful to see, very unique, colourful and whimsical....We also had some team and scones It is a nice activity after hiking much of the day.More

One of the highlights of our four days in Leura was the ‘Bygone Beauties’ Devonshire teahouse and teapot museum... There are literally thousands of antique teapots and every imaginable sort of modern teapot, as well as lots of antique crockery and giftware for sale. The...Devonshire tea was superb and the rooms full of teapots and curious bits and pieces are amazing … you could browse for days and hours.More

Yes would definitely go again, it's such a quaint place where you can have tea or coffee and eats, then after go through their little museum, so interesting and so many different teapots to look at.

Visited here in Jan 23 with my 81 year old mother and sister. They were not busy at all. Sat outside (it was too stuffy inside) on an extremely small round table. Ordered one Devonshire tea (2 scones) with a pot of tea for my...sister and mother. I ordered 16 points of sandwiches to share and a pot of tea. Young water told us what was in sandwiches - this is not what we got! Horrible tuna, vegetarian, ham & cheese and chicken & mayo. Very mundane fillings, all haphazardly thrown together on plain white tableware. When food arrived - there was no room on our table so they balanced some on the fence railing! Jam was strawberry (both my sister and I are allergic) and when we enquired if there was an alternative - waiter was very confused and said he'd ask the kitchen. Came out some time later with blackberry jam. Cream was a very small amount - direct from the can! Bill was over $80!! $48 for 4 rounds of sandwiches is outrageous - even half this amount was too expensive for what we received. Would not recommendMore

We came here for tea & scones & didn't realize there was a teapot museum inside. Tea was served hot & the scones were warm, served with plenty of jam & cream. Service was a bit of a let down as they were young teenagers...not knowing what they are doing. The teapot museum was very fascinating, the most teapots I have ever seen. They came in all shapes & sizes from being beautiful & delicate to trendy & funky. Well worth a visitMore

It’s very strange but the food here is excellent, the museum is excellent. But the service is appalling and appears very snooty, apart from Chinese lady. Even when it was relatively quiet it wasn’t good service. Do not bring impatient people here. So not for...young children. If you are not in a rush I would definitely recommend this place but the staff need to seriously work on their people skills.More

We got ignored for 25 mins before we can order and then another 45 mins to wait for the meal. And the most annoying part is the waiters, waitresses and even the manager just walk pass our table, ignoring our waving hands. And they didn’t...even say sorry for letting us waited for so long, without any explanation. I don’t know if it’s because we are Asian but whatever the reason I will definitely never come back.More

We booked a table for four for Devonshire tea (one gluten free) for lunch and were not disappointed. The venue was a warm and welcoming haven from the lunchtime mist and drizzle outside. We took some time to wander through the teapot museum (free entry...with a meal purchase) as well as exploring the interesting and at times, entertaining gift shop. At our booked time, we took our seats at our table, and were duly served our respective tea, chai, and yes, coffees, along with our delicious fluffy scones. One of our group had gluten free scones, which the recipient commented “as good as I make myself!” A great venue to relax for an hour or so on a cool, misty and rainy lunchtime in the mountains in July!More

Visited Bygone Beauties in October and found the place fascinating for it's eclectic and vast collection of teapots. Whilst I am not a teapot aficionado, it was nevertheless a fascinating display. An additional attraction of this place was the availability of really nice things to...eat in a morning or afternoon tea style. I particularly enjoyed the bread pudding and the waiter who I think was called Jason was very entertaining as well as efficient. The proprietor, Maurice Cooper was an engaging host with an encyclopedic knowledge of teapots and their general history and use in different cultures. Definitely worth a visit!More

We had a lovely Devonish Tea at Bygone Beauties. The scones as always were delicious, the cream and jam fresh and tasty. Tea selection enticing. I booked our afternoon tea during lockdown and was telephoned to have my reservation confirmed - this is good customer...service. Afterward, we strolled through the tea museum and with the assistance of Maurice purchased some fine assam tea. I had also ordered their Darjeeling tea over the internet twice, posted and delivered 2 days later-excellent! Highly recommended. Kerri.More

Expensive + Bad Service + Gluten Free Baking a joke = Disappointing. From the moment we walked in and had to search for a staff member the disappointing first impressions turned out to be a taste of things to come! Paying an addition $8.80 for...Gluten Free on top of an already very expensive price, one expects it to be top notch but the GF Scones were terrible and in this day and age when GF has improved so much, there's no excuse for it. The lemon curd tart i could hardly get my teeth through. There were a few nice cakes and the non GF Scones were ok but mostly Average. Drinks, we had various Teas & Champagne, were fine. What with it all being wheeled in to the tune of Pomp & Circumstance, it all felt tacky and a bit of a joke. There are plenty of better places to get high tea.More
