This deli cafe is definitely worth a visit & is one of the best in the Blue Mountains. Great service, interesting menu & very reasonably priced. We ordered the Beef Chilli Bowl & Ruben Sandwich which were delicious. Our cappuccinos were well made & served nice & hot. The decor in the cafe is what sets this place apart from all the other good cafes in the mountains. It is to be experienced. It’s a small cafe, therefore, it can be hard to get in to during peak times.

Loved this place, from our greeting, to the location, to the venue and of course the food and drink. We walked in and immediately felt calm, the decor and general vibe of the place had a real chilled laid back feel. The food was great, they specialise in sandwiches as they are in essence a bakery. The owner (I’m guessing) immediately picked up we were from Ireland and we encouraged him to open a spot in Belfast. Highly recommend. 10 points

Had the Reuben sandwich and my partner had the chicken pesto sandwich. Both were delicious, served with chips and two pickles. We also had the root beer and a hot Yerba Mate. Everything was fresh and had quality ingredients. The menu was extensive with lots of options for vegetarian, vegan, and more. The servers were friendly and attentive, they asked another table (they got there about 10 minutes before us) if they’d like to have their food inside since a table had become available. The restaurant is located right in the middle of Katoomba with lots of other shops around for a browse after your meal. They also offer take away which would be good if you plan to have a picnic at one of the nearby lookouts.

Yellow Deli is a charming and quirky spot with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely takes the time to get to know their customers. The sandwiches we got for takeaway were fresh, filling, and delicious. Most come hot by default, but they’re happy to make them cold if you prefer. The salads are massive—almost too big to finish—but they’re fresh and flavorful. The dining room is cozy and full of character, making it a great place to sit and enjoy a meal. Only after eating here did we learn about its possible ties to a religious order or cult, which was unexpected but didn’t change the fact that the food and service were excellent.

Walking into the Yellow Deli is like walking into a big warm comforting hug. You may need to wait a little while to get in but it is worth it. The quirky interior has shades of fairy tale with little nooks and crannies to hide away either solo (yes they have solo tables!) or in larger numbers. The staff are so fabulous and the food! OMG. I popped in for a late lunch so had a fruit plate with walnuts and wheatgerm - so delicious. The mate latte was one I had not tried before and I really enjoyed its flavour. I could not resist ordering a slice of their cream cheese pie with strawberries to take away. When I had it later that evening, the taste almost made me do a little dance around my room. Glorious! You really do need to go here - escape the world for a while and be enveloped in the calm and love of the Yellow Deli.

I was in Katoomba to see the Blue Mountains in early August, staying on a Monday and Tuesday. Although there were coach loads of tourists and Scenic World was very busy quite a lot of the restaurants and cafes in the town were closed, and only open Thursday through Sunday. However this place appears to be open 7 days a week and I can highly recommend it. Inside it has a charming and quirky interior with wood panelling and a blazing fire. There are some tables on the pavement outside with gas heaters which the staff kindly lit for me as they were busy inside. I had lunch, and the menu offers a sort of ‘build your own sandwich’ choosing rolls, fillings, sides, mayo, pickles etc I chose roast beef with Swiss cheese on a heritage roll and it was delicious. I also had an iced chai which was very tasty. The service was great too. I can recommend this to anyone looking for a light lunch in Katoomba, whether their competition is open or not!

After an absolutely appalling meal and treatment at nearby Red Door Cafe (warning: please do NOT go there!!!) we were thrilled to be welcome to the Yellow Deli. The food here was absolutely wonderful — we had the potato soup (pictured), the chili, the smoked chicken sandwich — and everything was so hearty, delicious and tasted very fresh and flavorful. The bread seemed like it was fresh-baked, and the beverages we ordered (especially the mango smoothie) were so refreshing and tasty. But what my family enjoyed most was the wonderful and genuine service. We were served by an incredibly kind older gentleman who knew how to speak my father's native language, and went above and beyond to make our meal pleasant and make us feel so welcomed. The establishment itself is so cozy and warm and inviting — like a little log cabin in the woods. Try and ask for a booth in the back of the restaurant for added privacy if you have babies like we did. Just a wonderful place. Highly recommended!

This was our first visit to Katoomba and our friend took us to try the Yellow Deli. We liked the location, ambience and food so much that we decided to go back the next day) again and shout my friend a meal to say thanks. The cafe is conveniently located towards the end of the main commercial strip on Katoomba Road. It is only a short walk from most hotels/B&Bs in Katoomba so not worrying about having to drive and then find a parking space. The ambience within is very quaint and rustic with the place being dimly lit and everything made of heavy solid wood. It is also probably a nod to the fact that everything used for the food is pretty much organic. Over the course of our two meals here, we opted for sandwiches , salads (Garden salad, Chef's salad) and the more regular breakfast options of eggs, toast and sausages. All of the dishes were delicious. A very specific hats off to the coffee that is served here. It is probably some of the best coffee I have had anywhere. And that’s saying something. There are many organic items on sale at the counter for those who want to take some gifts. back home. The extremely personable staff at the cafe spend a lot of time with explaining the origin of each product for those who are interested, although that wasn’t quite possible the next day as it was a busy weekend.

We stopped at the Yellow Deli on a weekday and after a short wait were seated in a cute booth inside. We were pleased to see a child's menu accompanying the adult fare as we had a five year old child with us. The food was very tasty and the service excellent. Really enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and root beer! Only wish was to have room for dessert but the meal was too filling.

Our Blue Mountain tour guide dropped us here for lunch and because he had some "pull" with the place, we got a neat little table inside, although the weather was perfect outside. The menu is varied (breakfast all day), and the restaurant was full for the 1.5 hours we were there. The only difficulty was that, after ordering a bowl of tomato soup and a Reuben sandwich, they forgot about us and we had to wait 45 minutes for the food. Upon paying the bill, they didn't even say "sorry about the wait". BUT, we'd go back for sure becasue the food was great.

The best sandwich I’ve ever eaten, served by the most beautiful people in a lovely Harry Potter style cafe. Simple loving and ever so delicious. It was busy so we had to put our name on a list and wait for 30 minutes, but the high street was lovely to walk through, and I promise it was worth the wait. An absolute must for breakfast or lunch in Katoomba. Try and book first if you can.

My friends, their baby and I went for lunch recently and enjoyed constructing our own sandwiches. The lamb filling with spicy pepper cheese on a Kaiser roll that I ordered was especially good. There were green juices and I liked the privacy of the cute wooden booths upstairs.

Interesting little corner cafe with wooden booths and tables. We went for a quick bite to eat and found a wide variety of sandwiches on offer. Our choices - roast beef, corned beef and cheddar cheese were all delicious and filling. Crisps or a small bowl of veggies were interesting additions to the plate. Coffee was rather weak but came in a large mug. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We ordered steamed sandwiches - I can only describe both as unpleasant. Had hoped for something fresh but what we got was a heavy, stodgy and really unpleasant lunch. We threw half of each sandwich away - at $25 for the two, that made it even more disappointing. Service was average - staff were offhand (I realise it’s COVID lock down, but not site why that would affect your service delivery). Overall, would rate the food 1/10

This cafe is a gem. The staff are warm and welcoming, the service is excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. We both had a sandwich with a small side salad; the smoked chicken and the Deli Rose which is their trademark sandwich. This group of lovely Christians exude warmth which carries through to their food which is produced with love and care. This is an experience that you should not miss in Katoomba. It does get busy but you can put your name on a wait list, go for a little wonder and come back. Thankyou, we will visit your cafe in Honiton when we get home.
