Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Loved this place, from our greeting, to the location, to the venue and of course the food and drink. We walked in and immediately felt calm, the decor and general vibe of the place had a real chilled laid back feel. The food was great,...they specialise in sandwiches as they are in essence a bakery. The owner (I’m guessing) immediately picked up we were from Ireland and we encouraged him to open a spot in Belfast. Highly recommend. 10 pointsMore

What a nice vibe this place had! Everyone from back-packers to families were dining here. Each table enjoyed its own private nook. The cosy atmosphere, thoughtful design and attention-to-detail was evident as soon as we walked through the front door. We were ushered through to...another split-level dining area, which was just as quaintly furnished. For some reason, something out of a fairy tale - like Goldilocks - comes to mind. We stopped here for cake + a cuppa. Their Blue Mountains Date Square with dates, apples & macadamias was oh so yummo and modestly priced at just $8! You could tell it was home-made. Actually, all their desserts were home-made. One generous serving was enough for the two of us. We also liked how their yellow coffee mugs and teabags featured their Yellow Deli emblem (see attached photos). Despite it being a busy Thursday arvo, the service was prompt. The owner made the time to ask if everything was ok, and took the time to chat with us for a few minutes. I'd like to try more items on their menu if in the area again, and would happily recommend this cafe to others.More

Food was good although not sure about the keenness on Brussel sprouts!). Had tomato soup which was lovely and really good value however the drinks options were limited to the healthy (only wanted a Diet Coke) which is cool if that is your bag. Later...in the day I was given a bit of an insight into the cult that runs it and did a bit of research - tbh I wouldn’t have set foot over the threshold if I had been aware in advanceMore

Although they don’t come right out and say it unless pushed, the owner told us when asked that the community that runs the restaurant support anti-LGBTQ teachings. Don’t give them your money.

This restaurant is most unusual and that includes the various food options. The greeting and attention from the staff is outstanding. The seating is a bit cramped but quite comfortable. The meals are generous and probably some options are good but my salad was predominately...lettuce with few additions. Mango drink was pleasant. Interesting decor and atmosphere but they don't take bookings and you may have a long wait if they are busy.More

This cafe is a gem. The staff are warm and welcoming, the service is excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. We both had a sandwich with a small side salad; the smoked chicken and the Deli Rose which is their trademark sandwich. This group...of lovely Christians exude warmth which carries through to their food which is produced with love and care. This is an experience that you should not miss in Katoomba. It does get busy but you can put your name on a wait list, go for a little wonder and come back. Thankyou, we will visit your cafe in Honiton when we get home.More

Walking into the Yellow Deli is like walking into a big warm comforting hug. You may need to wait a little while to get in but it is worth it. The quirky interior has shades of fairy tale with little nooks and crannies to hide...away either solo (yes they have solo tables!) or in larger numbers. The staff are so fabulous and the food! OMG. I popped in for a late lunch so had a fruit plate with walnuts and wheatgerm - so delicious. The mate latte was one I had not tried before and I really enjoyed its flavour. I could not resist ordering a slice of their cream cheese pie with strawberries to take away. When I had it later that evening, the taste almost made me do a little dance around my room. Glorious! You really do need to go here - escape the world for a while and be enveloped in the calm and love of the Yellow Deli.More

I stopped there for coffee, but they didn't have any espresso or cappuccino available. Instead, I had a green chai latte, which was surprisingly good. The interior of the cafe is also very aesthetically pleasing!

Pleasant ambience... food okay... coffee quality pass (only just)... prices okay... small range of food. There are a lot of other higher quality places to eat in the area. Maybe go once for the experience.

I was in Katoomba to see the Blue Mountains in early August, staying on a Monday and Tuesday. Although there were coach loads of tourists and Scenic World was very busy quite a lot of the restaurants and cafes in the town were closed, and...only open Thursday through Sunday. However this place appears to be open 7 days a week and I can highly recommend it. Inside it has a charming and quirky interior with wood panelling and a blazing fire. There are some tables on the pavement outside with gas heaters which the staff kindly lit for me as they were busy inside. I had lunch, and the menu offers a sort of ‘build your own sandwich’ choosing rolls, fillings, sides, mayo, pickles etc I chose roast beef with Swiss cheese on a heritage roll and it was delicious. I also had an iced chai which was very tasty. The service was great too. I can recommend this to anyone looking for a light lunch in Katoomba, whether their competition is open or not!More
