We found this restaurant under strange circumstances. The roads around Jindabyne heading to the national park were blocked due to the fires and the very nice people manning the checkpoint suggested we go through and try this restaurant. What we found was a big city quality Thai restaurant with a great menu selection. What was even better was when the meals arrived. The massaman curry was fantastic as was the stir fry dish. The service was very friendly and the views over the lake would have been great except for the excessive bushfire smoke haze.

The flavours of the food are amazing, it's just such a shame the servings are a bit stingy, and served by a person with such a sour face you wonder if shes made to suck on lemons all day as punishment for something.
We had the wings and satay chicken sticks as entrees. Again, amazing flavours. It's just that the wings were the wing tips, and the chicken sticks had 3 that were a good size and one that was so small it really should not have been served. Chicken wings have to be the cheapest thing to buy for a restaurant. Surely, if you're cutting them into separate tips and mini drums, you can serve more than the tips.
Mains were the chicken red curry and caramelized pork belly. Again amazing flavours. The pork belly was a good serving, 5 large chunks of caramelised meat, lightly crisped skin and soft, jelly like fat- delicious. The chicken curry had so little chicken in it that we initially thought they had brought us a vegetable curry by mistake. With the prices of vegetables at the moment, you'd think they'd make more money putting more chicken and less vegetables in, but no.
This stiffness stingyness with the chicken cost them 1 star in the review. The other star is lost for having someone, already mentioned regularly by other reviewers, serving people with such an angry, sour demeanour and look that they are either an owner or the place is so desperate for staff they'll put anyone in front of customers. Keep this person seeing up and cleaning tables rather than serving customers, she puts them off their food.
Maybe bring your own chicken breast and wings and ask them to cook them for you, then you'll actually get to taste some., because the cooking is great, just not the serves or service.

Beautiful. Went off other recent reviews and glad I did. Ordered the cashew nut stir fry with beef and some spring rolls. Under 10mins to cook, had takeaway to take back to my motel. Beef was super tender and the dish packed with meat and veggies I didn’t need the rice to fill me up. Staff friendly and was cute inside restaurant, I will definitely go back!

Our experience at this restaurant was horrible enough for me to create an account to write this review.
After a long day, we headed in for a nice meal but the whole experience was downhill from there on. Hungry and frustrated, we waited thirty minutes until any of the staff even looked at us, regardless of our repeated requests for service.
After an hour, we received one of our three starters (one of which never made it to the table). After complaining once again, a chef (from the kitchen) informed us that it would be a further twenty minutes until we would receive our food. They even told us that they would gladly let us leave if we couldn’t wait.
Orders were messed up, we were accused of eating the wrong starter, the attitude of some staff was atrocious and this experience was probably one of my worst.
I would probably give this place a 0/10 if I could. Definitely wouldn’t recommend in any situation.

We were 2 families ( a group of 10).
Because we are a big group we walked in the restaurant and made a booking for 730pm.
When we showed up at the restaurant at 730pm. We were greeted by a lady, who first of all was very rude in her way she addresses herself to my husband. She was going on and on about a group that overspent time at their table and she could only accommodate us as 2 tables.
When we said we wanted to be seated together her tone was even more rude, she didn't make the effort to organise the 2 tables together. She wanted to give away our reservation to another group This prompted my husband to have another talk with her.
Finally, our table was organised and we were seated. The lady took our orders but she made a face obviously over the issue over the earlier discussion.
The last order was a fried rice. One of the kids removed a long hair from the rice and then showed us another hair. Our first reaction was is it from of our kids but all our hairs were tied up and the hair we witnessed was wrapped around a piece of chicken so if it was a hair that accidentally dropped in the dish it would have been at the top of the dish. One of the kids said they found another hair in a dish but removed it earlier.
As we knew this would lead to another discussion, we simply advised one of the waiters that we found hair in the fried rice.
The waiter took it to the kitchen then came back asking us if we wanted to be served a dish again to which we answered "No". My husband then settled the bill without asking for a discount. All we wanted to do is leave the restaurant.
As one of my friends left the table, the lady came back to her and whispered behind her back...." all the kids have got long hair".... insinuating it was one of the kids hair.
Why on earth do we want all this discussion when we are travelling as a family and having some time off with the kids. We've done outings as 2 families before and never ever have we been treated like this to any restaurant where we take our monies. Please avoid this place by all means, you wouldn't want to ruin your holidays and time off arguing over seating and confronting a lady who treats guests with no respect.
Overall: The restaurant needs to improve big times on their attitude towards customers and basic hygiene is a must when serving food. If a customer has advised there is hair in their foods but has not asked for food replacement or a discount, accept the feedback.

We had a delicious meal here.
We arrived late at night and fully expected to be told we couldn’t get a meal but were invited to sit and eat.
We were treated like royalty! Attentive service, and nothing was too much trouble.
Meals came quickly and were piping hot. Rice was done to perfection.
My partner reckons his laksa was the best he has had In years!
We definitely will be returning when next in the area.

Nice set up and very good culinary flavours. A true escape from the oppressive burgers and parmigiana hovering every second place in Jindabyne.
It was a one man show at the moment I came in and the cook was so friendly and helpful.
It’s located about 2-3km outside of town in a quiet location above the water.

Took the kids to dinner on January 2 when it was a bit quieter. Was worried about how the kids would go but we ended up having a fantastic time!. The staff allowed us to choose a different table a bit further away from people. The kids enjoyed the fish cakes and satay sticks, I LOVED the Massuman curry and partner loved his dish. The staff were attentive in bringing drinks and deserts and were friendly. Will definitely go back again👍

What a horrible experience had with this restaurant. Chef very rude and after waiting for food more than a hour she come and say if u want food wait 20 more min or leave. Kids crying with her behavior . Please avoid this rest at all cost specially families. Very very rude.

Nice spot for something different in Jindabyne. Friendly staff serving good honest food.
I was looking forward to trying some Filipino food on the menu but it was sadly not available. But we will definitely be returning on our next visit to Jindabyne.
The Massaman Beef was pretty good and the kids loved the Satay Chicken.

A group of 11 of us have a reunion in Jindy every year. We usually dine, on one night, at Maya Asian Cuisine. The food is fabulous, the service is great, the atmosphere - for what we want - is ideal. So, we'll be back next year and highly recommend this restaurant. In contrast, the reception we received at Baccos Italian Restaurant was arrogant and unhelpful.

Went to Maya for the long weekend. Restaurant full understandably given its long weekend. The food was worth the wait. We ordered the chicken fried rice, prawn fried rice, masaman curry, maya noodles, curry puff, satay chicken, fish cake. All dishes were great! Will come back again...

Howdy, got this just now. $26 for salt and pepper squid. The photo shows the portion. By the beach that would be $15. At Canton in Chinese in Queanbeyan, for the same amount, one would receive a giant bag that would feed the family and still have left enough for a serving the next day. If only Jindabyne had a McDonald's to push prices down in this protectionist town.

We are a family of interstate visitors (2 adults, 2 kids) back for the fourth? time to this restaurant on our annual trip to Jindabyne - and it did not disappoint. Staff were attentive, the gentleman who seated us next to a window opened the window to let a lovely fresh breeze in. Was very patient when explaining the drink options to the kids.
The female who took our food order was focused but lovely. The food was yummy! Each family member had The Thai soup with chicken - kids had way more than we expected 😳. Chilli basil chicken, Massuman beef, Thai fried rice.. mmmmm. Kids loved the Maya noodles with chicken. It was getting late by the time we finished so no banana fritters but the waitress organised ice cream in fancy glasses for the kids.
I am a bit disappointed at previous reviews focusing on staff not being ‘friendly’ by smiling. People need to understand people of different cultures or different neurodiversity may communicate differently. As mentioned the waitress was focused but when hubby and I said how great the food was and the kids said Thankyou - you should have seen the beaming smile.
See you again next year!

Visiting this place for dinner with family. While the food was tasty and we had nice time. My only feedback is on the the Hokkien noodles tasted raw and might be bit old or not cooked properly. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
