Fantastic lunch, I had the open steak sandwich and my wife had wavy steak and veggies. The service was outstanding. Staff very friendly and off to carry drinks out to us. Great country service. First night on our trip and had dinner here. Crumbed lamb cutlets were sensational and wife had the lamb risotto which was equally great. The table opposite us also asked for the cutlets after asking my thoughts when I eventually came up for air.
Deep fried lamb cutlets? Horrible. Why wouldn't you shallow fry? We wouldn't recommend going there. Chefs explanation didn't make sense. I hope he comes to realise that oily overcooked beautiful young lamb cutlets is an abomination of a delicious cut of meat. I'm sorry he...didn't understand my criticism as it wasn't personal. A solid country pub with a classic pub menu. All our meals were great. The turf and surf was excellent. A great selection of beers on tap including both old favorites and some edgy craft beers.
Decided to visit for a birthday dinner. Already quite busy but we had a good table. We ordered a garlic bread, lamb shank with mash and veg and the vegetarian risotto with roasted veg. The shank was large, beautifully cooked with a really yummy sauce....Most enjoyable. The risotto again a large serve very generous with the feta and Parmesan. It was very tasty but the veg weren’t roasted and missing some roasted capcicum and tomatoes or cauliflower just to freshen it up. The caramelisation on roasted veg would have lifted the flavour. Both meals were hot to the table which is a plus. Service was excellent and meals came out without too long a wait especially as it was busy. We have been here a few times in the past few months and has been great each time.More
This place is really popular, so book, or get there early to find a little nook to eat at. Most tables larger than 2 people are well booked out. And the reason why is the food. It is fresh, well cooked, and tasty. The meals...are also very large, what you would call generous servings. I had the Chilli Parmigiana. It was huge! I took half of it back to the motel and finished it off for lunch the next day. Highly recommended.More

In a cosy dining area, we were able to order from a good sized menu. The food was generously portioned, amazingly cooked and made us wanting to go back for more.
It was busy! We had booked and got a table by the window. Extensive menu with great choices Order at the counter and they bring it. Everything went as clockwork, the staff helpful and friendly There was no waiting for the food, it arrived promptly...and HOT from the kitchen. The serves were more than decent and the flavours excellent. Well done to them all.. I had to say that you would be hard pressed to get this level of service, quality food, all in a timely manner for a reasonable price in Melbourne or Sydney.More

The imperial has a restaurant, bistro and outdoor area where the food and wine comes from exactly the same place. It is a well oiled hospitality machine where this highly professional team,led by Richard and Jess , produce amazing food. The best squid I have...had anywhere. The Meals are in large quantities with attention to detail. Front of house, Caitlin,is just the person for the role. Advice: book ahead for the restaurant for the French ambiance.More
Worst pub meal I've had in a long time.Ordered flat head tail chips & salad. Fish & chip came out burnt . Glad I didn't order anything complicated. For $29 you expect it to be eatable
After queuing outside 10 mins, while waiting to be seated in a small pokey room with more walls than windows. Waiter was very pleasant and was kind enough to give direction on how to use the digital menu and ordering service on our phones. Not...for me. Spent too much time looking at screens throughout our meals and drinks, not one to promote phone action at the dining table so not a fan. Was disappointed with menu and underwhelmed with the atmosphere and layout of this highly anticipated refurb, disconnected and lacking in vibe.More
Good menu with tasty food. Good serving with plenty of active ingredients. Wine list lacks some imagination. Service was good. A bit on the expensive side.
Well what can I say. Yes the meals are huge but lack any sort of quality. Ragu slow cooked beef… should specify mince not actual piece of meat. Snitty always a good stand by in a pub… should have been put thru a tenderiser or...flattened somehow because eating what looked like half a Panko crumbed chook was not enjoyable. $3 extra if you want veg instead of a 1/2 cup of salad..really? Staff all friendly and efficient thou. Overall ?? Good local Chardonnay.More
