This little Italian Restaurant was so authentic! Yummy food and well priced. Close to our hotel at Crowne Plaza
Recently went back to this formally fantastic restaurant. Historically food was traditionally italian and of a high standard, unfortunetely that standard has fallen off a cliff in recent times. Excepting one of six dishes ordered, the main pastas were amateurish at best and honestly flavourless,...and given the price it was borderline offensive they thought it fine to serve us what came from the kitchen. Having paid for the group I am probably more annoyed than I should be if I had only funded a single meal, but we all tried to laugh about it and put it down to experience but unless there has been a whole kitchen change in the past few week I would steer well clear unless you are happy with SPC standard pasta.More
PROs -great ambiance -delicious meal - Veal Saltimbocca and Mussles -fantastic and friendly service from Otavia -great selection of wines -reasonably priced CONs -please give me a real cloth napkin- this is find dining- maybe save the cheaper one for the pizza customers -a bit...noisy- need some noise abatement on the walls or celings All around super experience and a restaurant I'd recomend!More
Took my family of 3 kids under 5 to dinner. Service was friendly and organised colouring in for my kids. Food and drink service was fast and pizza was delicious. Recommend the pizzas.
Delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. Attentive staff. Great wine selection and the best limoncello just like in Italy. Loved it!
Great service and great location, I normally hold pasta to a high standard and it hit the mark. The Gnocchi was well done, and the pizza hitting the spot We told them it was a celebration and they didn’t disappoint.
Arrived about 20 minutes before our wished we had more room reservation. The place was starting to come alive with staff and customers. We sat at bar for a few libations and moved to our table on time. The staff made great wine and food...recommendations. Antipasto course of caprese with tomato along with rocket lettuce, parmesan and pear salad. Entrees were veal/pork meatballs with melted mozzarella inside and sauce. We also had chicken saltambuco with potato and vegetables. The waiters and bartenders could not have been more accommodating. The food was fast, fresh and plentiful. Ended with coffee and tiramisu. While dining we noticed so many pizzas going to other tables and wished we had room, LOL EnjoyMore
Everything we ordered was delicious! Best Veal Parmigiana I have tasted in years. The Mussels, Garlic Prawns and Fetticini Marinara were very tasty too. Would definitely return and recommend.
The staff were incredibly friendly and happy to assist however they could. We had a slight issue with the menu but they were very quick to go above and beyond to happily rectify it for us. The food was amazing and authentic, everything was delicious....Would definitely visit again!More
Amazing food and great service this is my go to when in the area. The staff and management even know my regular dish and I’m only here every couple of months great experience
Always a treat to dine in at La Spiaggia - food and the staff are just the best. And also very reasonable priced in these difficult times.
Food was amazing! Staff friendly and helpful. great atmosphere. Best Italian in years. Will be visiting Coogee again purely for great food. Several of our guests have also planned to take their partners there as they were so impressed.
Dined with my wife on a recent evening. The restaurant was full, and unfortunately we were seated next to a table of VERY loud ladies, so that we needed to lean into the centre of our table to hear each other. Not really the restaurant's...problem but it made us want to leave as soon as possible, which we did. We ordered garlic prawns, oysters, and scallopine. The oysters were really disappointing. Very small, with no distinctive taste. the prawns were a little overcooked. This is always a problem when putting them into hot oil and then transferring them to a diner. The scallopine, however, was excellent. Very tender with a nice sauce and very nice vegetables. Wine by the glass prices are what you would expect, but we did not want a bottle, so paid the asking price. Ho hum. Service was professional although the wait staff appeared to be in a great hurry, all the time. The evening was a little spoilt by the table next to us, but the scallopine is recommended.More
