Decided to try here as it was No. 1 in the area. It was open Thursday despite what TripAdvisor said. I was a bit nervous what I was letting myself in for as I was walking past numerous dilapidated and empty shop fronts. The restaurant...itself was inviting although the atmosphere was a little disappointing. Service was quick and friendly. I had the mixed kebabs - chicken and tikka lamb - heavenly. Bread tasty too. Salad could have been presented better. That and the atmosphere would have made it 5 stars. 4 Stars and I would come back.More

Really fresh bread that comes with the dip. Ordered the oven kebab but didn’t expect a stew. Stew was part tender and part hard. Overall, still glad to try Afghan cuisine in melbourne!

There are tons of cheap Afghan restaurants in Dandenong but we chose Afghan Salang because we wanted to bring a bottle of wine and have a leisurely lunch rather than a quick dip in and out of a street cafe. The food was delicious. We...had the veggie dumpling type dish, with a mild eggplant dish mopped up with piles of the yummiest bread I've had in ages. Dips were also great. It's run by a friendly family and staff are helpful and pleasant. I hope to get back to Dandenong again to repeat my visit.More

I have dined at this restaurant before and can give them 8 out of 10 for authenticity and taste. Although the foods are quite pricy compare to the rest of Afghani restaurants in the area but it’s not too bad. I have tried their eggplant...dish, Mantu ( dumpling filled with minced lamb and onions) and Ashak ( dumpling filled with vegetables) and they were also equally delicious. I would say they probably need to improve on their customer service. Overall, if you like to try Afghan food, I would recommend this place.More

One of the best Afghan Restaurants. Service is great, fast, delicious and reasonably priced food, nothing to fault. Been a few times and definitely will be back again in spite of being 45 min away from my house, it’s worth it.

After driving out for an hour from Melbourne in the afternoon jam, arrived at the restaurant to find it closed instead of being open as stated. Waste of time Avoid at all costs

My friend and I ate at this venue on a Friday night, we were greeted with a smile from one of the waitresses while the other one was rude & unpleasant towards us as we were still eating at 8:45 pm. The meals were mediocre...and the worst part of the experience was being told their eftpos/card machine wasn’t working when we asked for the bill. It would’ve been really helpful to know that at the start or put up signage on the door. Extremely disappointedMore
