An excellent alternative to a pub meal. The restaurant had a good sized menu. My wife had the soup and an entree of ribs and I had the spicy parma with vegetables - both excellent and served in a timely manner. Drinks were reasonably priced.

We ate here having booked earlier in the day. We were met by a friendly front of house and ushered to our table. It was very popular the evening we visited. Unfortunately, being say in a corner we were overlooked for about half an hour by staff. When the waitress arrived she was apologetic though by this stage we were... More

On the positive side, the view is really great and calls for a romantic dinner. Unfortunately, the rest was not that rosy. I've ordered a sweet potato soup, but did get a pumpkin one instead, did not want to make a fuss about it. For the main dish I went for the Gemfish ("seafood special"), which was not on the... More

Thanks for review and feedback, and I apologise that the dining experience wasn't up to your expectation. The soup on the night was a ' Potato, Sweet Potato & Pumpkin ' soup, rather than all three, so it seems there was a mis-understanding there, and am sorry we missed the rice when delivering your mains. The Gemfish was a special... More

We were sent here on the recommendation of our B&B hosts and weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, and we had a table from which we could see the mountains (albeit over the motel cabins). I had a Moroccan lamb targine. Very tasty. My wife had skewers of king prawns wrapped in thick bacon. She loved it. The portions were... More

We were pleasantly surprised by this fantastic restaurant in a humble setting such as Queenstown. The food was delicious, portions sizes generous, the waiters were delightful, and the overall experience was perfect. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Great service and good food. After a few nights of traveling and eating noodles Smelters was a welcome oasis. Varied menu and helpful wait staff.

5/5 based on the very friendly and inclusive welcome and attention we received, along with very tasty meals. The children were given a huge paper tablecloth and crayons to keep them amused (toys, books were also available). Try the homemade pasta...delicious!

We took ourselves and a guest to this restaurant and were very pleased with the meals and service. The menu is extensive, the wine list excellent and the wait staff are attentive but not intrusive. The servings are generous and the range of local Tasmanian options tempts even our finicky friend from the mainland. Thanks to Chef Grant, front desk... More

8 of us Travelling from Hobart, staying in the Motel - Silver Hills. Discovered this good restaurant attached to the motel. The lovely lady who works in the Reception also looks after the restaurant, very friendly and efficient. The pumpkin soup was beautiful in this cold area. The BBQ prawns were excellent, Lamb ribs ... mmmm yum !! Make sure... More

We stayed in another hotel nearby, walked around the town looking for a restaurant and stumbled upon this one. Every aspect was perfect for its class - Service, food, price and ambience. Possibly the only place for fine dining in Queenstown. Atmosphere especially was excellent.
