First time to Airlie Beach and went to Trip Advisor to find a quality restaurant. The Belvedere was at the top of the list so we gave it a go. We are regular tasting menu diners in a very competitive southern market so have some solid benchmarks to compare with. This restaurant would sit comfortably with the good degustation restaurants in hometown Melbourne. It’s located in an elevated position with great views, every member of staff we encountered was well trained and professional. The decor is not high end but very comfortable and, in our opinion, entirely appropriate for this setting. Tables were well spaced so we felt we had plenty of room. Now to the food. Check the menu before you go because it’s not for everyone but in our mind this was excellent food and excellent value. For a seven course tasting menu we would usually pay north of $175 but this was $79 and we can assure you, the freshness, quantity and quality did NOT suffer despite the lower price. If you’re a foodie like us we strongly recommend you give this restaurant a go.

We were given a gift voucher for The Belvedere at Toscana and booked in for an evening child free, which is a very rare and special occasion for us!
This was absolutely the right place to go! The atmosphere was sophisticated, romantic, and was a very adult environment, which was exactly what we were after for our night out. From the very beginning, everything was 5 star. The service was timely, staff were polite and friendly and very attentive. They knew the menu, topped up water and wine, and left us wanting for nothing.
And then there was the food! An incredible meal, we had the homemade focaccia bread and butter which was mouth-wateringly delicious, followed by the steak, potatoes and brussel sprouts. We can’t wait to go back and order the same again! Highly recommend!

My partner and I went here for date night! We had THE best time! Every dish we ate off the menu tasted amazing, as we enjoyed the tasting platters. The staff were all wonderful and helpful throughout the evening, and we could enjoy every minute of our date, all whilst listening to beautiful music overlooking spectacular Whitsunday views.
We can’t recommend this place enough, and already can’t wait to go back! Thank you for our magical evening Belvedere!

After careful consideration over days, this meal was( it could have been if it knew what it was doing). The location was great looking over the Airlie beach marina 👍 but unfortunately location and views do not add up to the cost of the meal. The restaurant makes out it’s this 4.5 star meal however it’s more a 2 star meal, the menu is limited which makes you think that ever bite is to die for, this is not the case.
The cheese platter well it had 6 very small slices of cheese from Woolworths some dried grapes and 3 very small pieces of fig jam, it also come with some very cheap Woolworths crackers. I personally if I’m paying $31 for a cheese platter I would expect it to come with restaurant made crackers. The olives over all were the best from this experience not the best I’ve had but the best out of the meal, so if you like olives then order them.
Next come the main meal, well the truffle mash potato was just dripping in oil, the mixed veg come out not only cold but uncooked, the lamb backstape with beetroot purée and goats cheese well the goats cheese is whipped with I don’t know what but it does not break down the over powering beetroot purée. We also ordered the Scott filet for $50 it come out on a plate with a very small jug that was half full of sauce. Very boring we did not finish our meal but even though the cold veg was removed from the bill it still cost $185
The one glass of wine I had was well average my husband had a coffee we had no dessert included in this price, other then a sparkling water we had nothing else very over priced and over rated not worth the expense the cost or the time.
We also dined at the
Sorrento restaurant
Coral Sea Pavilion and the
Anchor bar these 3 restaurants live up to their name all 3 are worth dining at
IF you wish to spend this amount of money on a meal then try the Zin house restaurant in Mudgee NSW as you will get the experience you are looking for as each part of your seven cause meal is not only explained to you but it comes out of their own garden or locally resourced WELL WORTH THE MONEY

First the very few positive things: great view!
For the food: we ordered focaccia and olives for the aperitif. Focaccia, a very thin slice per guest with very good paprika butter - OK, fine dining is reduced. The olives only came with the starter, but they were really great.
For the starter, zucchini flowers and melon with Italian ham. The zucchini flowers were a bit "killed" by being fried too much, the melon OK.
For the main course, steak and ravioli filled with scampi, with "brussel sprouts". The steak was quite unnaturally soft and "refined" with a cheap-tasting spice. The rice ravioli were OK in terms of the dough, the filling rather indifferent and the sauce more like fast food. The vegetables were rather dead from being in the pan for a long time; the chef doesn't seem to like vegetables.
For the drink: we chose a Chardonnay from the list of 5 white wines, but there was only one glass of it left. The Sauvignon Blanc was also good. The red wine from Margeret River (Pierro) was excellent, but there was a long discussion with the waiter about whether we should refill our wine ourselves or whether the waiter should. Really weird, normally the guest is king and if he wants to refill his own wine, the waiter smiles and walks away.
Overall: never again!

It was ok. Noisy seat near the kitchen pass. Decorated like somebody’s living room which personally I didn’t think was too great. Food was ok, decent enough quality and cooked well. I ordered a steak and basically got a lump of meat in a bowl. Veggies were extra. Waitress didn’t know how to operate a corkscrew so I had to do that for her. Nit her fault, but she should have been trained.
All in all ok, but pricey for what it was. I wouldn’t particularly recommend it.

This was one of the nicer restaurants in Airilie, so I thought I’d treat us. Although this is tagged as fine dining I didn’t have high fine dining expectations because the price of the tasting menu was so good.
Plus points - the restaurant were fantastic re my daughter’s nut allergy. Thank you for this it was appreciated. Thank you also for allocating a table on the balcony it was ever so nice, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice.
The reason this is a 3 instead of a 5 - the food was nice, but not amazing. It was a bit over salted. My daughter, who usually shovels salt on food, found it salty, it was a bit much for me. Nothing was horrible, it was just quite average. Though the figs were really good. We also had to ask a couple of times for fresh plates. You really need a fresh plate and cutlery at each course on a tasting menu.
Overall good, but not amazing.

Reading the reviews of The Belvedere makes me think that mistakes were made during our visit. We were a group of 6 diners out to celebrate 2 birthdays.
As said by many, the service was excellent and the food could not be faulted for flavour. Sadly though, we did not enjoy our visit simply due to the amount of food we received throughout the evening.
As locals, we were excited to finally try this restaurant that has had many positive reviews. We didn’t mind paying that bit extra as we had heard so many good things.
As we were a group of 6, we were expecting to share plates of food but we assumed it would be 1 plate between 2 people (3 plates for our table). Looking around at couples and groups of 4, this is what they were getting. And, seeing the plates given to other diners (as they had them in their hands when delivering ours) they looked to be the same size. We however, were given 2 plates of food to try to share between 6 people. They are not huge plates (as expected for a tasting menu) but certainly not enough for 3 people to share. We were even more disappointed when the prawn dish came out as we thought this would be slightly bigger as a ‘main’ style dish. We had to pick our jaws up off the ground when we worked out there was only 1 prawn each. When you are paying top prices (which this is) you expect a little more than that.
Our dessert came out with a lovely ‘happy birthday’ on the plate, but it was a small quinella of mousse, which, once again, had to be shared between 3 people. One little spoonful each, definitely just a taste.
As stated, we can’t fault the service or taste, however we will not be returning (which is sad being long term locals). Over the night we spent well over $700 but feel we perhaps got $50 worth of food.
Seeing other reviews, this is why I felt maybe they mistakenly served us as a table of 4 instead of a table of 6 that evening.
I was hoping to be able to give a positive review but, in fairness to future diners, they really need to know what they should expect when booking, especially if you are a larger party.

Hi Karen,
It is truly disappointing to receive this review especially stating that you are a local, one would think our locals would like to see a small business thrive. We are taken back by this review as you have only dined with us once and through the email correspondence we had regarding this issue we did try to clarify the issues you thought were disappointing.
We are so pleased you loved the flavours and our amazing staff. We strive to give the most memorable experience to our guests. We are not sure why we have received this review as we looked after your table all evening and asked how everything was.
I do need to clarify for the future guests who may read this that our serving sizes are proportionate to the amount of guests that dine on the table. Unfortunately your expectations of receiving more plates on the table was not met due to the fact that we would have had to send out too many plates that would not fit on to your table. These dishes/plates however were much larger and of the correct portion size. Upon asking how your meals were everyone said they had a lovely time and the food was great and nothing was mentioned to us about portion sizes or guests leaving hungry so one would assume you left feeling content.
I also need to clarify that the menu in no way states that prawns are a main dish, this is completely incorrect. We offer a tasting menu where as you stated you get a taste of everything. The prawns are large U8 prawn and one is definitely plenty for a taste however if you wanted more we would have loved to prepare more upon your ordering. More food comes out after the prawns and you do have the option of adding our delicious pork rib chop onto the tasting menu if wanting a little extra. Our prices are very reasonable especially for the quality and quantity of the food being served. I would also like to state the portion of mousse would have been a portioned size for 3 guests to enjoy the final course.
We did email you back regarding this and received no email in return. Being long time locals we would have loved to have you dine with us again and maybe the Ale Carte menu might be best for you as this is chosen by yourself and larger portions are served. Perhaps our venue is not for you and that is ok however hopefully we can welcome you again soon!

Eating at a 5/5 on Trip Advisor, the expectations were very high.
It seemed like a perfect restaurant, the view, the menu, the waitresses, everything was very good. One major issue though : we took the "chef's full course menu" , for which you share all the dishes. Some of them ( 3 out of 7 or 8) were so small we thought they made a mistake and gave us a 1 person's share (the dessert was small, even for 1 person, let alone for 2...) . When you pay an extra 26$ or so to get the full experience, this is a major issue. We told them at the end that some of the portion sizes were too small.
Again, the food was very very good, but at this price point, that kind of mistake is problematic.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are so pleased you loved the food and service and are happy to know it was a memorable dining experience. We are sorry to hear you thought the portions were not up to your expectations. We thank you for the feedback.
Please know the extra $22 per person is for an addition of the Cape Grim Sirloin Steak not for any other dishes. We again appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

The layout and view from this restaurant takes me back to Amalfi coast and is a definite wow factor when arriving. Originally we were booked on the deck but the staff kindly called in advanced to offer inside dining on account of the weather which was appreciated.
The food did not disappoint.
A few simple things stopped this from being an outstanding experience.
The menu is not extensive, with only a couple of meat dishes. We ordered lamb backstrap and were told this was not available. The only alternative was a more expensive eye fillet. We also ordered couple of sides. The mains arrived in good time but without the sides. We were told the sides would be a couple of mins. As our steaks cooled and the sides didn’t arrive it became obvious that the sides hadn’t been prepared.
It also came across as an imposition when we asked for the fan over the table to be turned down.
It was a Sunday evening with only around four tables of guests so not busy enough to justify not nailing the basics.

Superb meal. We had the chef's tasting selection... all good, most great! The sirloin (as an 'extra') could have been more tender and no option requested for how we'd like it. A bit well-done for our taste. Beautifully furnished restaurant, excellent service. There are few tables on the balcony... would be lovely on a fine evening. Will try and book this next time. Only a small restaurant- suggest you'd need to book well in advance to be sure of getting a table. At last- good to have truly fine dining in Airlie Beach. Fine dining has a price to match, $239 for the two of us with a bottle of red so not our 'everyday' choice but very welcome in our little town.

Nice location and balcony and good service with kind waitresses.
The dishes were ok but not excellent: the burrata was very very small and not particularly creamy as it should be. And the whole plate was covered by oregan eliminating the taste of the dish. No bread was served with it. When I asked, instead of the bread, they brought me focaccia with butter (dish from the starters) and made me pay for it. This would never happened in a real Italian restaurant.
For the salmon tartare: full of chips but not so much salmon in it.
Generally was ok, not terrible. But I would suggest to review a bit the dishes and offer the bread.

We are so pleased you enjoyed the beautiful location and amazing staff we have here.
We would have loved to rectify any issues you had if you had told us on the day. Regarding charging you for bread you ordered off the menu that is standard when ordering in a restaurant. Our house made focaccia is the bread we serve and the only bread we serve.
We hope to welcome you back again soon!

A restaurant in a great location with splendid views. On arrival we received a warm welcome and the service was excellent throughout the evening. The bread with paprika butter was good, but did it really need the nuts to accompany it? The next courses of Tuna ceviche and steak tartare were thoroughly enjoyable. The stuffed fig lacked any texture and the ham that it was wrapped in was burnt. The next courses of Zucchini, Potatoes and Sprouts all arrived together, is was akin to a traditional British roast without any meat, fortunately we had ordered a portion of the tasting steak. The Steak was excellent, but the portions of accompanying vegetables were simply too big for a tasting menu, the sprouts were meant to be charred, but you could smell the aroma of burnt sprout leaves on the terrace before they arrived. Once the outer burnt leaves were peeled away, then they were good. The chocolate dessert had texture and depth, but after the size of the portions that preceded I could only manage one spoonful. For me lots of good elements masked by the quantity and occasional mistake.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed the service and the beautiful venue.
Our tasting menu is an array of 7-8 share style meals and you get a taste of everything from our menu. A great way to dine tasting many different flavours and courses. We love crispy bacon so we always serve what we think our guests would prefer. The Zucchini, Potatoes and Sprouts all come together to be shared with the optional Cape Grim Sirloin which we always highly recommend to our guests to order. This way you get to enjoy even more amazing flavours. We are glad you were full and felt the serving sizes were of a decent portion. All our guests clean up the plates and leave with full happy tummies!
The sprouts are not charred and have a nice golden brown crunch to them as we quickly fry them and toss them in a special house made sauce. This would be the outer crunch of the sprout to add texture and no one likes grey boiled Brussels sprouts.
I say there is always a second stomach for dessert.
We pride our selves on yummy food to be shared amongst good company. We carefully curate the menu and no mistakes are made in the cooking or preparation as we purposely designed this menu to be yummy, wholesome, enjoyable and flavoursome. We look forward to welcoming you again very soon. We are very happy you enjoyed our lovely venue.

We couldn’t be more thankful for the team at Belvedere for making our engagement dinner so special!
The staff went above and beyond for us night 1 when I was sick and asked to reschedule to the following evening. Without a beat they made arrangements! We came back Sunday night and was sat at the table with the most spectacular view of the water. All the beautiful waitresses were attentive and offered cocktail selections that went with particular dishes. We ordered the Chefs selection tasting menu which progressively got better and better with each dish! Who knew Brussel sprouts could taste that good!! Our dinner was finished with a congratulations dessert while we watched the sunset.
10/10 would recommend and we will be back for our anniversary! Thanks so much

My wife and I had dinner here upon recommendation from our captains/tour guides on a sailing tour to the Whitsundays back in November. We are supremely glad we took the recommendation. We had an exquisite culinary experience here. It was somewhat unexpected for a place like Airlie Beach. My wife and I had gotten used to more mundane/usual fare on our drive across the top of WA, NT and FNQ.
We had the degustation/feed me option. Each dish was excellent to outstanding. The chef uses seasonal, fresh local ingredients so the menu won't be the same. However, based on our experience we would be supremely confident that whatever will be served will be to a very high standard.
The environment was rustic Italian. By the time we got there it was past sunset, but I suspect it would be a sensational spot to watch the sunset and the lights come on.
Service was professional and attentive and we were never left wanting.
If you're after a well above average feed after some less than desirable options along your travels along FNQ, you must stop in at the Belvedere with an appetite and some time on your hands to enjoy a meal with a view.
