The Palms Restaurant & Bar is located at the Colonial Palms Motor Inn, straight across from The Sebel and the Coral Sea Vista on Hermitage Drive. Free covered parking is available to patrons. The Palms Restaurant & Bar has an amazing outdoor deck over-looking Cruise Whitsundays for everyone to enjoy, now offering barista made Takeaway Coffees, Coffee on the Deck & amazing Pre-Dinner Cocktails ($15) from 5pm. Open for Breakfast & Coffee 7 days a week from 7-9am. Open for Cocktails from 5pm, and Dinner 5 nights per week from 6pm, Tuesday to Saturday. The best fish served during our one week stay in Airlie beach we got in The Colonial Palms Restaurant located in the Colonial Palms Hotel.
You should ask for the fish of the day.
The meal was accompanied by cooked vegetables and mashed potato; the fish was a big portion of local salmon and the taste was very delicious.
The service was very friendly and fast.
Thank you fot the fine meal!

Such a great restaurant! The food is delicious with great flavours and the service is impeccable. The wine is hand picked by the owner and the selection is excellent. MUST VISIT! The owners show passion behind their food. :)

Absolutely fantastic! Ambience is great, nice and quiet, we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves for dinner. Beautiful view of the marina. Best thing- the staff! So attentive, sadly I didn’t grab the name of our waitress, think she was French and she was so lovely! Felt very special for a very ordinary Thursday evening. Great wine, food was delicious and fresh, nothing felt like it was ready-made. Had the fish & chips, scallops and the pasta and it was all very tasty and very generous portions. I would definitely recommend this place as a little hidden gem in Airlie Beach!

Unfortunately, breakfast was hugely disappointing.
Our poached eggs were hard and both of us had the toughest bacon we've ever eaten. You had to take the bacon off and try eating it with your hands because there was no way a knife was going to cut that bacon. Definitely not freshly cooked. The bread was soggy and there was a lack of hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict.
We should really have said something to the waitstaff but since there was so many things wrong with the food, we feel that they would already know but happy to serve it anyway. It was quite comical how bad it was.
It's a lovely spot with nice views but that's about it.

We loved this place. We had a reservation for Saturday night but arrived early and got great outdoor seating. The service was friendly and quick. And unlike a higher rated pool bar in town where we went on Friday, here we had solitude and personal service. Argentine inspired food was delish but we relished the excellent service. Truly an undiscovered gem.

We decided to go up to Airlie for our 47th Anniversary and as we had previously stayed at the Colonial Palms Motor Inn in the past we decided to stay there again (I've done a separate review on our stay). On our last trip a few years ago there wasn't a restaurant so after reading the menu online we decided to have our "Dinner Occasion" there.
Given that Airlie is renowned for over-priced food and entertainment I can honestly say we discovered a gem of restaurant that probably few know exist. The menu covers all tastes and food requirements and my wife and I had great difficulty in choosing from this innovative menu and our choices were first class. The food was well prepared and presented and the service could not have been more attentive. The best thing were the prices. You won't find better value for money on food and wine like this in greater Airlie Beach.
The next time you are in Airlie I strongly encourage you to try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

I held my mother's 70th birthday party, with 30 people, here. There was so much space, inside & out, for everyone to sit. I also had a section for photos & dancing & as a bonus we could use the pools so the kids were happy to swim.
The food!! My goodness it was delicious!! We had roast lamb, beef & pork with potato bake & delicious vegies. I'm salivating thinking about it, it was THAT good.
The staff are some of the loveliest people I've had to deal with, making my organising & the night run smoothly.
There was air-conditioning to help make it more comfortable on those hot, muggy nights in Airlie Beach.
We had photos running on the tv, chose our own music, & even let them know our favourite alcohol so they could cater for our needs. It turned out to be the most perfect night.
Thank Jamie & Sally for your exceptional hospitality. We will be back đź’›

Romantic setting on the hill. Alfresco on Terrace or inside if it rains. The menu is tight but showcases some amazing flavour choices. The food was cooked to perfection with decadent sauces worthy of plate licking. Great attentive staff who know their craft in the bar and on the restaurant floor. So very professional. New owners...so if you tried it before....try it again now. 5 stars for everything from us. Steak was melt in your mouth and the linguine just superb. Flexible enough for me to have a half portion too. I have the feeling nothing is too much trouble for this team. We found our best meal of our week long holiday on the last evening. And for what it's worth....I have left no other reviews for any of our other food experiences. It has to be out of the box for me to bother.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in Airlie Beach. Located directly opposite the Port of Airlie with the most amazing view!!! We sat on the balcony for our meals and were very impressed with our bug and prawn linguine. Full of prawns and a whole bug, this pasta meal was so big I had to leave some pasta behind!
The staff are super friendly and professional and you feel like you are in a 5 star restaurant.
We were staying over the road at the Sebel and after seeing how nice this place is we kind of wished we had stayed here too!!
They also serve continental and a la carte breakfast AND do takeaway coffee!!
I went back in the morning and sat on the balcony enjoying the superb view with my morning coffee which was also top notch!
I cant recommend this place, service and ambience highly enough! You must try out before leaving Airlie!

The " Winterbottoms"enjoyed our dinner so much the first time we went back another night...the steak was cooked to perfection and all the meals expertly described by "Wendy the amazing Allrounder"...thankyou for feeding us so well!! if you want to eat here you need to get in quick...very soon you will have to wait weeks to get in:) We wish you every success x

We stayed on location for a few days and opted to try their restaurant downstairs. A hidden gem that you should give a chance and try. The menu is simple but the food was phenomenal and price was very reasonable for the quality of food. Highly recommend!

We went to Colonial Palms restaurant on our last night in Airlie Beach. Best food of the week! The food here is delicious, not too complicated but quality ingredients cooked to perfection. The chef must be well trained and really take pride in his/her work. Staff very friendly (thanks Mary!) and nothing is a hassle. Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s a “motel restaurant”, it’s definitely a big cut above what comes to mind. Simple menu but done REALLY well. We had the dumplings, scallops, garlic bread and pumpkin salad for entree; steak, barra and veggie tart for mains; choc pudding and sticky date for dessert.

My fiance, myself and our 4 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. The food was delicious and far exceeded our expectations (we had previous meals out in Airlie and were disappointed). Service was friendly and professional and the restaurant has an ambience about it with great views out on the deck, we would highly recommend this restaurant during your stay in Airlie, you won't be disappointed!

It was our last night,family of four, across from our hotel. I wish we had found it sooner! The food was cooked to perfection. Steak, grilled fish, prawn and bug linguine, pancake rolls, Delicious potato's! Great deserts. The menu is small, but we like that because then you know it has been prepared fresh. We had an amazing view across the harbour. Joss sticks about to deter the mozzys.
The staff were so lovely too. All in all, a truly great experience

My partner and I came for dinner. I asked to customize my order and they did. He had bangers and mash, I had salmon - both meals were cooked perfectly. We loved the mash and gravy so much we asked for a plate of just that and chef has delivered. Lovely service.
