We visited the restaurant on a reasonably busy Friday night and arrived at about 7:45pm. We queued up at the counter for a table, there was a member of staff at the cash register who seemed completely oblivious to the fact that we were standing there.
When another couple approached the desk, the staff member then proceeded to take payment from them and the couple behind them. Still not paying us any attention, I asked if there was a table for 2. We were informed that the kitchen was closing and that they would have to check with the manager.
We waited a further 5 minutes before we were told that they could seat us. I am diabetic and by this stage my blood sugar levels had dropped and if there was another restaurant close by I would have left.
Eventually we were shown to a table and again had another wait before our order was taken for both food and drinks.
Most of the staff members appeared to be quite young and didn’t seem to have a clue what was going on, or who was serving on which tables.
Eventually our food was brought out, we had both ordered a steak. The quality of the food was amazing and was cooked to perfection. I would even go as far as to say that the steak was one of the best that I have ever had.
If the customer service was improved this restaurant really would be outstanding.

Having got up and left the neighbouring restaurant Ventura after not even being offered a water after being seated for 20 minutes. I stormed through La Marina in my Hangry state. Yet ever staff member I stormed pass or cut off all smiled and acknowledged me. I stopped at the end of the path, turned around a took in a deep breath of their amazing aroma. I noticed the buzzing atmosphere and decided to ask the maître if he could squeeze in two with no reservation. He then introduced me to Max who was going to my waiter for the night. Max got me a drink and water immediately while I read the menu. I called my friend and notified her of our new location for dinner. She gave me permission to order. Max took that promptly. Food was ready before my friend arrived, so they kept under the heat lamp for about 2 minutes. Friend arrived and Max was there with a drink both of us. Then our seafood pizza and seafood risotto was presented with share plates as requested. Max checked in on us enough to know he was there, but not disturbing enough to interrupt our gossip session. Thank you to the whole team who turned a bad experience into an enjoyable one for us locals.

We were a large group of 21 people and when we arrived we were told we didn’t have a booking ….. and maybe we had booked for their other restaurant.
Staff agreed to arrange tables and after a wait we were seated. The wait time for our meals was extremely long and I feel they cooked all other tables meals first.
Once meals arrived everyone was very happy with the flavours and would eat there again.
Music was a little loud and we couldn’t hear conversations much at all unless you were speaking to the person right next to you.
Unlike a lot of other restaurants that won’t spilt bills, we were able to pay for what we ordered individually.
I imagine if you weren’t with this number of people our evening would have been a little different. So we do recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful location and setting over looking the boat marina. Unfortunately, the food and service does not compliment the setting. We arrived at 5:15 PM with hardly any other customers. Our order was taken shortly thereafter , whereupon the meal itself it was not served until almost an hour later( only after we asked what the status was as to our order). Thereafter the meal itself was extremely bland( the pear salad had no taste and barely any dressing). The Veal itself was tender, but the mushroom sauce had no flavor . The Lasagna would have tasted comparable to a frozen TV dinner , if that . The meat Sauce was bland and no flavor. Way over priced. If one wants such a bland meal, go to a fast food diner and pay one quarter the price as well as get much faster service!

Nice place and mostly nice food. Asked for tap water and charged at the end for still water. Entrees of meatballs and squid very nice, as was my wife’s veal mains. Unfortunately my risotto was over cooked and mushy and lacked fish pieces as advertised. The tomato sauce was nice it was served with and this was the redeeming feature.

I had no intention of writing a review but things changed. I took my lady for dinner which was very enjoyable, the meatballs were soft and delicate and the cannoli delicious as were both pasta dishes. I paid the bill $206 and when we arrived home I tossed it on the table and the good lady picked it up and had a look at it. Shock horror I had been CHARGED $2 , did you get that CHARGED for Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on our pastas. This could well be a worlds first, maybe one day they will charge for ice as well

I love my Italian food, I had the spaghetti carbonara which was just the right proportion with a strawberry daiquiri yumm !! Price was affordable and the staff were nice.
However.. thats where the good ends unfortunately.
My partner had the marina fettuccine which was tasteless, he ordered a beer the same time I ordered a cocktail and he never got his until having to ask again as they forgot.
The kids chicken was dry but thankfully our son didn't have much of an opinion.
They sat us outside when it was raining and windy which we didn't mind but were surprised at their tactic.

Hubby and I chose this place because it was close to our hotel.
We asked for a menu to make sure we wanted something from it and then waited while 3 staff were talking.
Nice they sat us down the food and the cocktails were amazing.
Service was definitely slower than many restaurants I’ve been to but not sure if this is an ‘island time’ thing or the staff just aren’t onto it.
They took our cutlery with the entree plates and didn’t return more so we had to grab some from a table next to us as we tried looking for someone but again kāo one was around.
Nice view of the marina to enjoy while eating.

After booking over a month prior, we turned up and they insisted we never had a booking despite me showing proof on my phone they had confirmed. They proceeded to not apologise over the mistake and put us on a table with no heating on a chilly night, saying the other tables that had had heaters were fully booked (despite still being empty when we left and is actually booking a table).
We then ordered drinks, their choice of Prosecco by the glass was a Victorian one which I unfortunately wasn’t a fan of.
Entree was the garlic focaccia which we enjoyed and would recommend. The mains were lovely, a sopressa pizza and seafood marinara. Although the pasta was a little starchy, the overall sauce and marina was lovely.
I was disappointed to later hear the specials being told to another table, which we hadn’t been told, which we would have definitely would have been interested in.
After paying the cheque, after a disappointing evening to say the least, they tried to charge us for a bottle of Shiraz after only having a glass. Goes without saying, we were not a fan of the service here!
In review, if considering booking this restaurant after seeing the relatively good views, perhaps look into others at Airlie Beach…

Lovely place! Good service and nice food! there was plenty! You can easily go there with the whole family as there are many different dishes for both large and small.
It can definitely be recommended and the prices are reasonable.

The staff were very helpful and the food overall was very good.
I thought because we had 2 children they would definitely do a table inside for us as it was very windy and chilly. I will definitely ask next time.
My only suggestion is for the chef to ask the stewards to take the food out quickly, so the meal doesn’t sit and go cold, as I saw my son’s pizza sitting there over 5 minutes before it was taken, and especially since I had to ask them to heat my chicken dish up as it was luke warm at best. The flavour of my chicken was excellent but I couldn’t taste the gorgonzola in the sauce. Maybe also selecting a different type of vegetable other than pumpkin as the vegetables on the plate, as pumpkin was already inside the chicken breast. Some nice green beans would have been great.
Also my wife’s Barramundi dish was nice except the portion was extremely small.
The rest of the meals were very nice.

Huge disappointment when a pizza the looked like it just came from the eagle boys. The Mussels though fresh were not cooked properly lacked technique, boiled and had tomato puree and raw garlic tossed over it. I would not recommend this restauranr if you are looking for authentic italian cuisine.

Family dinner to celebrate last night at Airlie Beach. This restaurant was recommended by everyone. Food was lovely. But that is where it stopped. From mixing the reservation after ringing twice to confirm numbers, to mixing up drink order to no drink service and having to attend bar, mixing the entree up with main so one of the children missed their dinner, to having to wait over 3 hours for the experience. While locals came and gone why we waited. Service was poor throughout especially when we spent exorbitantly. Basically treated like chump tourists. We had people travelling all over australia the following days plus elderly and new born baby. Poor form. Will not be back. Other patrons were also commenting about the length of time it took to be served. There are better options.

Pleasant meal and experience. We had a lovely time at this restaurant, however just a few little things got in the way of being able to give a 5 star review. I am gluten intolerant so was very pleased to have so many options, especially on an Italian menu.
We ordered a bottle of the Barossa Shiraz and some gf bruschetta to start. The wine took a surprisingly long amount of time to arrive and when it did, was actually the mclaren vale Shiraz. The waitress who brought it (not the one we ordered from) seemed confused but then went off after having poured half a glass of it and came back about 5 minutes later with the correct bottle.
The gf bruschetta was very delicious and the sticky balsamic was terrific - feel free to up the balsamic on the dish even more.
It did start raining then and us and a couple behind us were getting wet. It took a little while to get the attention of someone to put down one of the blinds. However she only put down one so rain was still coming in on the other angle. The man who appeared to be the manager came by a little later and noticed and put the second day and commenting on the silliness of this not being done before. I don’t think it was rudeness or anything non behalf of the waitress just oversight.
Then we had a good wait before our mains arrived but that was no worry to us with our bottle or Shiraz to enjoy. Risotto and pasta were both delicious and enjoyable.
For dessert we ordered a gf sticky date and the chocolate mousse. After ten minutes someone then came and told us that the sticky date actually couldn’t be made gluten free (unsure why, it was listed as gfo on the menu) anyway we said that would be fine and just the mousse to share. Well they then arrived later with two mousse! They were not upset and took the extra away.
When our bill came it was a little surprising as it had both the sticky date and two mousse on it! The manager immediately corrected this when we brought to his attention.
Overall a lovely experience and we would go back. Just a little more attention to detail needed to reach a 5 star rating.

One of the best Authentic Italian Meals i've ever had! (I'm Italian and I think that's saying something)
I ordered the Chilli Prawn Creamy pasta (I selected a gnocchi as my choice of pasta) this was so delicious, there aren't enough words to describe how yummy this meal was. The gnocchi was so light and fluffy. The creamy red past sauce was also so light.
The service was incredible, all the staff were wonderful and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
