On holidays from the Barossa with friends so shared entrees and mains. Someone else described this place as a hidden gem and they were absolutely correct. Service was excellent. Meals came out quickly. Food was fresh and full of flavours! It was our first time there and it won't be our last! Do yourself a favour and get down the other end of the Esplanade and enjoy the Asian inspired flavours of the Beach Almond !

We had the Salt and Pepper Squid for entree and it was cooked perfectly. Very soft and not chewy at all. The Banana Leaf Barramundi was so tender and full of flavour. Delicious. The Butter Prawns were cooked in their shell and the sauce was beautiful and with plenty of flavour. Both were served with a salad, which was lovely and fresh. The staff were very knowledgeable of the food they were serving, explaining to us in detail how the dishes were prepared and the chef came and introduced himself and gave us more insight to the restaurant. Fantastic local restaurant, serving very fresh local ingredients. We highly recommend Beach Almond.

I wish they had somewhere that did chilli mudcrab like this in Perth, I would go once a week! It was the best dinner we had in queensland in the two weeks we were out there! Not too spicy, full of flavour and the crab was cooked perfectly! We also had the butter prawns just as an extra but they were absolutely delicious too! It was raining and the lighting was putting on a show which was awesome. The staff are all so kind and super friendly. The owner even comes to make sure you are happy, he really cares that you have a good meal. I would 100% recommend trying this place....I wish I had time left in my trip to go again!

Had dinner here on Mother’s Day. We looked at the menu lit up outside and decided to give it a go based on the food options listed. We were then told that some items listed are not offered any more! Gluten free options were not marked on the menu making it hard to select but the waitress kindly went back to the kitchen to find a few options for me. I opted for Chilli prawns which were sadly overcooked and no flavours. (I told them this when we went to pay and I was asked how was your meal? They did not respond). My husband had black pepper prawns which he really enjoyed and my son had the ribs which were tasty but there were very few on the plate (we asked for main course portion from the wok) and the small cup of rice on the side was definitely not enough. The service from our new waitress was friendly and she did her best to answer our enquiries about the food.

We stumbled upon this small, unassuming restaurant during our stay in Palm Cove in the pouring rain, and it turned out to be a highlight of our trip. Don’t be deceived by the modest exterior—this place takes immense pride in its food, and it truly shows. The food was absolutely sensational! We only had two nights in Palm Cove, but after our first meal here, we couldn’t resist returning for the second night. The service was warm and friendly, with the staff taking the time to explain the menu in detail. Everything is freshly made, and the flavours are nothing short of outstanding. The restaurant is in a prime location with a lovely view of Palm Cove, adding to the overall experience. We sampled a variety of dishes across our two visits. For entrées, the handmade prawn and crab spring rolls were a standout, as were the tender and flavourful calamari and the perfectly cooked soft shell crab. For mains, we enjoyed the crispy-skinned white fish, succulent pork ribs, chilli prawns, and a delightful eggnet salad. And don’t overlook the desserts—especially the sticky black rice and the crème brûlée, both of which were the perfect end to a fantastic meal. If you find yourself in Palm Cove, this is a dining experience not to be missed!

I only chose this restaurant because it wasn't crowded. The one I wanted to go to was closed. It's a seafood restaurant & possibly a very good one. For a vegetarian meal the owner cooked me tempeh & tofu which was the best tempeh & tofu I've eaten - it was truly delicious. I had this with a salad which was pretty average. The meal was over priced at $35 considering that the same salad with prawns, squid, scallops, and sweet pork was $39.90. I guess I paid for the privilege of having a meal 'off menu'.

We came here after reading good reviews and seeing their smart website. In real life it is completely different. Sticky plastic menus, grubby interior, disinterested staff & worst food we’ve had in Palm Cove. The soft shell crab was just a lump of extremely greasy crunchy tempura without actually tasting of crab. The scallops were sliced so this that you couldn’t really taste the scallop. Somehow the chef even managed to spoil the really lovely big prawns used for “butter prawns”. All we could taste, was sugar. No coconut, nothing spicy, just sickly sugar sweet. What a waste of good ingredients! We did comment, but nobody seemed to care. Very curious as to where all the good reviews came from…New owner? Chef’s night off?

We ate here with our parents and two kids. Everyone seemed to arrive at same time (6.15pm) to be seated which put waiters in a spin. We had booked online. After sitting there for 20mins we had to catch the waiter to order drinks each time as they didn’t return to offer drinks. One waitress was running everywhere…..literally run off her feet. We ordered food which came out at seperate times (we were told kitchen were under the pump). My dad and husband ordered barramundi in banana leaf. One meal arrived (my hubby said fish tasted frozen, not fresh) but they didn’t bring second fish and by the time we alerted waiter, dads meal came out after we had all finished eating. My husband had to complain and told the waiter we were not paying for the late meal. Food was overpriced for the setting and portion size (other restaurants in town have similar pricing but a more fine dining experience eg. Vivo). Disappointing experience here which is a shame because we booked here because it had good reviews online…..not our experience

We stumbled on this gem, created in the style of a Singaporean or Malaysian beach seafood shack, after despairing that good seafood was not to be found in Palm Cove. Don't let the simple rustic style deceive you. The food is excellent. The chilli prawns were fresh and excellent, as evidenced by the meagre remains and the mopping up of every last skerric of sauce. The crispy full barramundi was moist within whilst delightfully crispy on the outside. The service was friendly without being obsequious. We will be back for the mud crab!

Friendly staf doesn't help with the prices and portions of the meals. Starter: Spring rolls. Tasty. But... two smal spring rolls cut in half say 150g of springroll. 20 dollars. Mains: Prawns with rice and beef in lemongrass/peanut sauce. Six prawns. 100g of Beef. 40 dollars each. Childrens portions. When asked for some additional rice they added 12 dollars. What ever you do go somewere else! Tourist trap! The scores must been made by themselves. Avoid!

The menu consisted of a lot of food that needs handling. Like peeling prawns etc. personally not something I like to do. Very messy. The serves were very small and overpriced. The main dish we had was very tasty but overpriced

We had the Mud crab "seafood platter" which was as underwhelming as it was small and expensive. Spent approx $250 for the platter which consisted of 4 small chewy prawns, 4 mussels, 4 small fillets of barramundi no bigger than my fingers and some calamari. The crab came covered in a chilli sauce that made trying to get a grip on the shell to break it open impossible without bashing it on the table until one of the wait staff finally brought us some nut crackers we asked for. Overall the flavours were ok, but not worth the stupid premium for poor ingredients and small serving sizes.

Don’t waste your money. We were so disappointed after being recommended to dine here by locals. Entree of salt and pepper squid and flat bread was nice so we were excited for the mains but what a disappointment. The beef curry had a very nice sauce but only 4 or 5 pieces of meat and some rice. Eggnet salad was something you wouldn’t serve to your worst enemy. The scallops, prawn and squid were chopped up into tiny pieces and the pork was non-existent. There was a lot of salad and coriander and the eggnet was soggy. $55 for a bottle of $15 Dan Murphys Prosecco and a total bill of $174. There are a lot of great places to eat in Palm Cove but this is certainly not one of them. Save your money. The staff were lovely but it must be difficult for them to talk up this below average food. We advised them of our concerns but the care factor was zero!

I went there for the mudcrab. The owner had just bought fresh ones and promised that they make a pretty decent Black Pepper Crab, They delivered on the promise. I was very happy with my meal. It was fresh, had lots of meat and the sauce was amazing. I am so glad I ate here. Out of all the tmost popular restaurants I had tried in Palm Cove and Port Douglas, this was the highlight for me. Highly recommended. These guys know how to cook a mud crab!

I booked online and tried to find a menu, to check prices, all I can find was old menus ,mostly was seafood not everyone like only seafood , O got the whole fried fish which was ok , I got my partner the pork ribs cos that’s all she liked (fair enough) the me was way so expensive, was only 5 small pieces on the plate I couldn’t eat with all the flies around my food ,I suggest that should get a fan or a zepper . It was hot and humid , no back music or something. And if u watch Gordon Ramsey , episode about Allan Love in Brighton , where he tried to see expensive seafood but no one wants it and was loosing big money , Gordon came along he got him to serve simple Fish and chips , that’s all and made $2000 in one nite , you should sell nice fish and chips for a decent size and good price and you will make more money then a lobster for $160 , it’s hard these days to pay that kind of money , Thank you and good luck
