We enjoyed a very nice dinner here. Flavours were really good. Service was wonderful. We had a lovely, pleasant waitress- she smiled all the time. A great experience if staying in Palm Cove

Delicious fresh Thai food. The seafood and fish were particularly delicious and you could choose your preferred spice level. The staff were so friendly. We went twice as it was one of the best places we ate in Palm Cove
SOO disappointed.Ordered Samosas….not Thai I know but my husband fancied them. The ones from Coles are better!Thai beef salad…..the meat was tough and grey and I’ve never seen celery in a Thai salad before!I have never had meat that I couldn’t eat before but this was...awful.Tamarind roast duck….quite tasty …but the roast duck appeared to be several days old! you can tell.I hate doing this but people need to know.We asked to speak to the chef or the manager.A really nice lady came and arranged for us not to be charged for the duck and the salad. Also my husband is in a wheelchair and the staff were very attentive and organised with a ramp to help him in. We live in Cairns and I hate to give a local restaurant a bad review but I couldn’t believe how bad this was. There was a guy who was in the kitchen who was definitely not Thai wearing a back to front cap if he is the chef …….!More
We got takeaway. The food was ok but it was I was disappointed with the portion size and there was a lot of filler with little meat - about 4 small pieces of beef in a beef salad and the same the the curry and...stir fry. We had 4 Dishes plus an Entree and everyone was still hungry (2 adults and 2 small children 6 and 3).More
On our trip to Palm Cover we found Choc Dee. A nice Thai Restaurant. Yes unfortunately the public toilet is right outside but it actually doesn't do anything to deter a lovely dinner. Good seating, Great staff, fast and efficient service. Menu had a lot...of delicious choices, everything cooked perfectly. Only downside was some dishes were sadly lacking taste. Something they could possible consider to fix. Choc Dee is recommended if your hanging out for a Thai dinner.More
We ordered take away this evening and each dish was underwhelming. Pad se Ew, Pork Fried Rice and Panang Curry. Each dish had the exact same vegetables . . carrots, bell peppers and onions- very little differentiation in recipes. The curry sauce was very thin,...almost like soup broth. The fried rice was the best of the three main dishes- just know that there is more veggies and pork than rice. If you are ordering take away, make sure you ask for napkins and cutlery. take-away orders from most places include these items so My husband assumed they’d be in the bag when he picked up the food- nope! Like most in palm cove, we were staying at a hotel and needed cutlery. Final note: there is no white rice to accompany the curry. I know some Asian restaurants charge separately and don’t always include rice, but many do. Or, at least the server will ask if rice is wanted. when we ordered the take away, the staff member (bartender) who took our order didn’t ask “would you like any rice?” Definitely suggest asking before final order is placed - customers will be happy and it’s an additional sale for the restaurant. When looking for restaurant options in Palm Cove, and if you’re a discriminating foodie, consider Espresso & Company (breakfast, terrific coffee and lunch- take away sandwiches if you’re heading out to explore) Vivo (fine dining) and Kushi Yakitori Bar (skewers, tempura and Sukiyaki all delicious!!)More
What a nice surprise this restaurant was. Enjoyed great food in a lovely setting. With very nice attentive, but not overbearing staff. Did not try and rush you in and out. Able to take BYO which was a bonus. Love the food and really enjoyed...ourselves. Would highly recommend. The Fish Cakes were great and Tom Yum Goong really good. Take their warning as to the spice levels on the menu. We love spice and had medium. Wouldn’t have ordered any hotter.More
We received a takeaway order from Choc Dee Thai restaurant and we were so disappointed with the portion size. The three stirfrys were half full. Two of the chicken dishes only had 4 pieces of chicken in them. I called to give some feedback to...the owner and his response was ‘I will talk to the kitchen staff, sorry about that’. Nothing else was done, which was disappointing. This is our third time receiving food from this restaurant over the past 3 years and we have always been happy. We understand times are tough for restaurants at the moment but when you’re paying $25-$28.50 for a main meal you do expect a full portion size. Sadly we won’t be dining here again.More
The menu looked great and first impressions were very positive - it felt like a Thai restaurant, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered chicken satay, spring rolls and fish cakes to start. They were perfectly acceptable, but uniform in a way that...suggested they were possibly purchased rather than handmade. We then moved on to our main course, which was duck curry. We have eaten a lot of Thai duck curries in our time, in Thailand, the USA, UK, and Australia, and this was without doubt the worst duck curry we have ever had. The duck looked and tasted like it had been boiled; the kindest thing I can say is that it was overcooked. When the waitress looked at the almost full bowl of duck curry and asked us how everything was, we told her that in all our years, we'd never tasted anything worse. she said that she would pass that on to the chef. Five minutes later, when I went to get the bill, the duck curry was still included. I told the woman at the desk that the duck curry was the worst I had ever eaten, and she nodded, smiled, and put the total on the credit card machine. The total on the machine indicated that the duck curry was still on our bill. It took further conversations with the chef and the manager before the offending item was removed. If you like duck that looks and tastes like mutton, this is the restaurant for you. Needless to say, we will not be returning.More
A quick check in process, elegant ambience and delicious Thai food. For those food lovers, please follow wait staff's instruction on spice level as it is authentic thai spice taste. Good options for vegetarians too - we are one and our dishes were to out...satisfaction. Can go there again & again...More
Stingy take away - 2/3 full containers, tough meat and watery curry. completely disappointed... 😞🤐
My partner and I went here last year and it was amazing, we were blown away with the vegan options and flavour, we returned to celebrate our anniversary this year and we were so dissapointed, smaller serving sizes, no flavour, the fried rice had about...2 tablespoons worth of rice in it, the pad see ew was bland with no sauce and half a serving size, still the same price point but half the size and no where near the amount of flavour we expected from our last visit. and I’m convinced my rose’ wine was watered down!!More
Without any doubt, the food here was so substandard it was not amateurish. The Thai fried rice, (Khao Pad Gai) was full of big chunks of chewy chicken and they must have forgotten that this dish is about the rice and the flavour of the...rice. (There was no Thai flavour) The Gang Keow Wan was not even palatable. My wifes Satay Chicken was deep fried and lost all taste. I complained and suggested they mention to the kitchen staff but there was little interest. Too much focus on money they will receive w/out any consideration to the quality. ($92 for this rubbish) NOT GOOD. I have brought my comments to the attention of the Palm Cove tourist management committee. Time for the restaurant to take note of comments or get out and let someone else occupy the space.More
Last night in Palm Cove, 2nd April, went to this restaurant. Ordered Chicken skewers. TOUGH. Then ordered Scallops. Very small, size of 5 cent pieces. At Raintree resort the night before, the scallops were size of 20 cent piece. To me all about PROFIT. A...rip off. Never again. John.More
Foo d was terrible - water and paste, slab chicken thrown hastily in. No coconut milk in. Dishes, they are just waster. Fried spring rolls ok. Warm only. If yiou cant cook, don’t try.
