Located right on the coast of Coson, Restaurant Luis is a beachside shack that serves authentic Dominican beach fare. Expect a long wait in high season but it is worth it. Grill or fried fish, grilled lobster by the pound are traditional favorites. Mine is the "lambí guisado" (creole stewed minced conch). Get your specials with side of fries, tostones,... More

You can choose to drive or to walk along the beach, but in both case, you can't miss the place on playa Coson We were there to eat fresh and grilled lobsters, and that's what we did ! Be focus ! We chose the animals, we weighed the animals and agreed on the price, we sat outside on the beach,... More

Don't miss a trip to Restaurant Luis. It's worth the effort to find the place. (After a wrong turn, the local police escorted us right there!) We picked out our fresh seafood from the day's catch in the cooler. Then we went for a swim while it was cooking. It was the freshest, best seafood I've ever head. The pina... More

So, let me preface this by saying this is not a restaurant. It's a well equipped shack with the freshest fish and pina coladas ever. We were lucky to get a picnic table and experience this well talked about restaurant. Ordered the best pina colada ever and a beer then the waiter took me over to the cooler where I... More

I have visited Restaurant Luis for many years and it always offers a good meal for a decent price. The whole or fillet grilled fishes are very good as well as the lobster and octopus. The sides as rice and beens, tostones or french fries are very nice too. The ambiance right at the Coson Beach is informal but vivid,... More

Everybody recommended to visit Luis restaurant at Playa Cosón because it is local, authentic and has the best prize to eat huge lobsters. Everything is true. However this is not at all my kind of restaurant. It is located in a series of improvised structures that remain more a slum settlement than a touristic place or even a simple place... More

This is such a casual, comfortable place. You pick your fish/lobster/langostino, they cook it however you like it.... and they serve it with rice and guandules, tostones, salad... Best margaritas on the island...

Fantastic place for authentic cuisine. Eating on the beach. Fresh catch of the day. A "MUST" on to do list

Seriously, once you try the piñacolada served directly in a fresh pineapple, you'll always compare any subsequent ones to that. Fresh fish and lobsters, served with rice and fries or tostones. Don't expect a fancy, elegant restaurant, but the views of Playa Coson fully compensate for the bit of shabbiness. Careful if you're allergic to dogs - there's a few... More
