Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped for a breaky in Portland and thoroughly enjoyed the food and location. Do yourself a favour and try this place … the coffee and pancakes are terrific

Nice service, great views from the outdoor area on a sunny day – and delicious cakes with a good pot of tea. Doesn’t get much better.

We all had the Classic Breakfast which came with 2 slices of sourdough toast, 2 eggs, bacon and relish. It was very tasty, filling and reasonably priced.

Great location and coffee! Loved the smashed bennies for breakfast. We had the dogs and they were well looked after too.

Driving around Portland with the radio on, I heard about Cafe Bahloo and headed in to investigate. Situated across the road from Portland Beach and port, it makes for a perfect place to enjoy a meal or drink. This cafe opened a few years back,...and the staff are welcoming and hard-working. With a bar added to the mix, this would undoubtedly be popular on warmer nights and weekends. Seating outside is a mix of tables and picnic sets, and inside stools along the window facing bench. Breakfast: The menu I viewed was from Feb 21 but may have been modified for Autumn *Long black [sturdy take away cup] - medium strength *Bahloo Eggs Benny - bacon, cheddar, and poached eggs, plus a hash brown - $11 well worth the money [no lunch needed after this tasty, hearty serve!] Weekends they open at 8 am, not open Mondays, but the rest of the week 7.30 am - perfect for grabbing a coffee before work. Thurs-Sat opens until 7 pm and shorter days Tues/Wed. I have no doubt I'll be visiting here again. *photos taken with their permission **They are a smaller staff/venue and get super busy, so enjoy the view and know that great food and drinks are to come. ***There is a surcharge for credit cards- but I was made aware of this. ****I would classify this a cheap-medium eatsMore

The cafe has a great atmosphere, a welcoming vibe. However a 35 minute wait for coffee and over an hour for food. Did I mention they forgot a meal for the pregnant lady? When we asked one lady she rudely said it’s coming.. a bit...of a wait later we checked with someone else they said we didn’t know what we were talking about. A third person came out only to be told they needed to cook them because well it was busy. Be sure to check it out, the food was delightful just make sure you have plenty of time and don’t take younger kids who struggle to sit for so long.More

Nice to go back after some time and get the same top friendly service and fantastic food. I have to say that the salad with the Calamari was the best ever, wasn't just a bowl of lettuce, well done and thank you. Yes the Calamari...was pretty good too. Very clean and has tables with views but outside is best for views over the Portland Harbour.More

Excellent food & service. Only negative was the sting from their card paying device service provider. An extra $4 debited by some crowd called SquareUp.com showed up on my bank statement. Considering the cafe bill was $69.50 a 6% service charge that I was NOT...informed about is rather steep. $4 is not the issue, no informing is.More

Lovely little restaurant / cafe, seems to be a very busy place but the service was great, food was great and only waited 15 minutes for our food although it was busy! You can enjoy your good outside with an amazing view or there’s an...option to sit inside as well. Staff were lovely, highly recommend! Will be returning!More

Cafe Bahloo had plenty of space inside and outdoors, a great menu and very good staff. The lunch food (eggs, avo, choizo, etc) was very well prepared, and the coffee was excellent.
