When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delicious generously sized curries, also enjoyed the onion bhaji. Friendly and prompt service. Was worried about timing due to previous reviews, but our family of four had been served and finished eating in about 1 hour.

Food looked good and smelled delicious, just wished I was able to try some! Arrived at 6.20 pm, it started off fine, was shown to a table and given a menu, but it soon started going downhill. After five minutes I said to a waiter...that I was ready to order, he said he was busy, but would get someone. Someone finally took my order at 7 pm. I left at 8.10 pm, I had been served nada. Understaffed? No, two in the kitchen and three front of house. Busy? No, there were no more than ten customers in the restaurant and a handful of takeaway customers. A first for me; 65 years old and the only time I have walked out of a restaurant. Two hours of my life completely wasted - front of house staff said they were sorry.More

Indian cuisine we had at Seaview Indian restaurant was very tasty. Beef Kashmiri (hot) and Kadai Paneer with Butter and Garlic Naan was an excellent combination. Meal was well presented. Mango lassi was very good. However, we had some disappointment about the wine we ordered...as we were served only a half a glass of it stating that the Cape Jaffa Shiraz we ordered was over. All that was acceptable but we found that we were charged the full rate of the glass! The interior of the restaurant was not impressive and the place might benefit with a proper uplift.More

I went with a group of friends and ordered a mixture of dishes for three courses. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes with the medium hotness providing lots of great flavours. After eating at a lot of places while travelling around Victoria we were particularly...impressed by the quality of the staff here. They were genuinely friendly and took care to ensure that we had everything we needed. This certainly added to our enjoyment of the evening as we hadn’t found the same quality of service at a lot of other places.More

If you are after an Indian meal, save yourself a bad case of indigestion and bellyache, and look elsewhere. We were a group of 9, celebrating a special occasion, that had our dinner ruined by this poor excuse of an Indian restaurant. To start with,...our reservation for dinner was "deferred" by the restaurant, by 45 minutes. No reason provided or apology extended. Then when our table had finally been set up, we found ourselves seated on a split level, with come diners lower than the rest of the group. By this time it was too late for us to change plans to another restaurant, as it was past 8:30 pm. Our order of 5 biryani's, left a particularly bad taste in our mouths. Although we asked for the spice level to be hot, we did not expect the rice to be stirred through with raw red chilli powder. It was impossible to eat the rice, as the only 'flavour' was 'hot'. Despite there being a few spices in the rice, the overpowering taste was raw red chilli powder. To their credit, the meat was cooked well and very tender. The biryani was not served with the typical accompaniments, such as hard-boiled egg, papad, raita and in many other places pickle too. The waiter told us that this is how they served their biryani and that raita could be purchased separately. When asked why it is that this biryani wasn't served with their usual accompaniments, the response was that this isn't actually a biryani, but a pulao instead - contrary to what was printed in the menu. Apart from the disastrous biryani, the lemon chicken was a standout for two reasons, it is not a typical Indian dish, and was nothing more than an extremely lemony gravy with some pieces of chicken. Food aside, the toilet and smoking section too left much to be desired. The single ash-tray was overflowing and a serious fire risk, and the exhaust fan in the toilet was covered with a thick layer of greasy dust, and also a fire risk.More

The food here was very good. Naan was fresh, portions of curry small though. But waiting almost an hour (and drinking whole bottle of wine) was not good enough, especially as there was one only other table. Takeaway on the Friday night was booming and...the clear priority in the kitchen. Pity not to take care of in house diners better. Needed to order another bottle, but the wrong type was delivered which was only noticed after opening. When advised, staff changed wine and made no charge which was appreciated. Waiter didn’t know the difference between Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. A bit a basic training would have saved this Proprietor the cost of a bottle. Would patronise again but only for takeaway!More

The food is flavorful and made to order. This is not "fast food" which is a good thing. We had Mango Chicken, which I was told by an Indian acquaintance is only found in Australia. We also had another dish that we have never seen...elsewhere, Beef Bollywood. Their naan is authentic and the Kashmiri rice was a good compliment to the two dishes. The restaurant is one of only a few in Portland that are a fully "sit down" restaurant.More

This restaurant does not have the overwhelming curry smell most other places do. Service is polite and fast, the menu is versatile but not not too extensive. The dishes are tasty and good size - mild is mild, hot is nice and hot. I loved...the hot lamb rogan josh and kashmiri rice. I ate there twice in 5 days during my trip and was happy both times.More

My partner and I love a good Indian feed. We came across this restaurant while staying in Portland for the night before heading home to SA. The service was friendly and the food was good and fresh. Not a fine dining kind of atmosphere, but...we were lucky to get a window seat with a view of the port. Would definitely recommend for anyone craving a nice Indian feed.More
