Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our party of 6 enjoyed tapas at The Dock on Saturday night. They have a very wide range of tapas available and our party all had positive experiences. Great staff and food right on the harbour. What's not to love?

Had dinner at The Dock, small meal and order any number of dishes, scallops were to die for, salads are large, staff attentive and drinks cold. Place was noisy decor pleasant. Would eat there again as this is something different in Hervey Bay.

Upon arrival the waitresses and waiters were all very friendly, polite and helpful. There was constant cleaning making you feel in a clean environment especially during COVID times. The food was amazing, we had the cheesy garlic bread, chorizo and hallumi skewers, chicken wings and Greek lamb gyros, absolutely delicious! The price was very very fair, couldn’t recommend more!! Thank you!

Today I visited The Dock Bar and Restaurant, Hervey Bay with a group of friends who travel the state on “Fine Food Dining Adventures”. Our gourmet club has been in operation since 2010 and we were extremely disappointed in today’s event. I discovered, via Google, this restaurant while we are here on a week’s holiday and was keen to experience some of Queensland’s best local seafood and searched a Bucket of Prawns for a simple lunch menu.
I was unable to contact the restaurant by phone and had to rely on the Facebook page for details and bookings. Upon arrival, we checked in with our COVID safety regulations, was seated and given the menu to make our selections. Several members of the group have special medical requirements and we spoke to the waitperson regarding the options for alternatives. Sadly, this dining experience did not meet our expectations and satisfy our appetite for good food and great service that we have already experienced in many restaurants in the local area.
In my position as Travel Manager for an organisation with 5500 employees, I am aware that the fight for the tourist dollar in an area like the Fraser Coast is fierce and that word of mouth marketing is a powerful tool that all businesses should consider important especially in this age of social networking. You can be assured that our group has already begun describing the excellent restaurants we have enjoyed in the last few days and look forward to many more.
Likewise we are all very clearly describing the bad experiences that we would rather forget. Furthermore I can guarantee that, as the organiser of these events, establishments that cannot provide an appropriate level of customer service will not be considered in our future plans. As our group grows in popularity we will be returning, in increasing numbers, to previously visited great restaurants.

We were in Hervey Bay primarily for a whale watching experience. We had booked ahead for the restaurant as we had been advised by friends they are very busy normally. We stayed at the Mantra so it is a 2 minute walk and connected to the Hotel. Upon arrival they had a very efficient COVID check in system and we were then shown to a table overlooking the harbour. We were served by a fantastic young women Maddie for whom nothing was too much trouble. Drinks were served quickly whilst we perused the menu which is Tapas style food. We chose a share platter to start which proved to be enormous!! and very filling. Hence we got no further with the menu. Judging from the food being served around us and the happy faces all items were good. The man of the house had a desert during which we had a long chat with the owners Mark and Lisa. As we are involved in a similar business in Noosa it was interesting to find out from this lovely couple what they had gone through in these last few months. They have obviously survived and we hope they go from strength to strength. A great venue, lovely staff and fabulous food. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hervey Bay.

The business incorporates "Restaurant" in its commercial title but, at lunch time anyway, the Restaurant part is a definite misnomer. The menu - such as it is - is disappointingly limited but the prices don't match that. Our trio of dips ($13.00) was superb, as also the baked bread accompanying them, and was presented on what appeared to be a hand-made, lumpen dish of grey clay. My rock pear and parmesan salad ($11.00) was also superb with the chicken ($5.00) added. My partner's Oysters Kilpatrick ($23.00) was a steep price for the 4 oysters, again on that moulded grey container and resting on granulated ice. But what floored us was the outright refusal even to contemplate a larger dish for 6 oysters or even 12: that is, unless you ordered 3 lots of 4 each! The bottle of house chardonnay was an OK $28.00. But the memory of the plate of 4 oysters lingers, not helped by the incessant bar "music" and the raucous laughter of a group that clearly had had one too many.

Whilst visiting relatives who are locals we had lunch based on the reviews and I’m sure we were in the wrong place.
The view is lovely, service okay, decor average but food was terrible!!
Very expensive and not good value for money.
Was told the oysters were coffin bay. They were the biggest bluff oysters ever and we all gagged as we saw the table next to us also did, $24 for 4 mornay is rediculous.
Calamari and duck pancakes very average (wouldn’t order again) and the rump was soaking in its own blood and tough. Honestly I couldn’t believe how bad this place was, very disappointing.
We won’t be back just terrible.

We love The Dock. The Food is always fresh and delicious. The Managers Lisa and Mark and every staff member make you feel very welcome. The view is breathtaking.
Whether it's Lunch or Dinner,, The Dock is a great place to spend time slowly eating your way through the menu. The sharing plates are a great way to try different dishes.
The Dock is always the same - Fantastic!!!
Food and Wine prices are not excessive, because of the quality of the food the variety of dishes and the stunning view of the Boat Harbour. There is a great atmosphere and vibe which makes it a special place to spend time relaxing and enjoying the wonderful hospitality you will always receive at The Dock.
We'll be back soon.

This restaurant is customer focussed and all the staff smile and look pleased to be at work and the food is delicious and well presented! Tara, our waitperson, was bubbly, gave advice on cocktails, amount to order and was friendly and efficient. The COVID compliance started at the door when we were greeted and the staff constantly hand sanitised. It’s so unusual to be able to give positive feedback. Just keep on doing what you’re doing as this restaurant has a great staff culture! We’ll be back the next time we’re in Hervey Bay

We rocked up tired and worn after all day behind the wheel and really felt looked after. Very prompt, friendly and engaging service. Atmosphere was lovely with polished wood and dim lighting in an industrial style space. very well stocked bar and solid range of cocktails. Great range of the menu made choice difficult but we were both very happy with what we ordered and it came out so fast! Would make this our local if we lived here xx

We made a booking for dinner quite late through a website they no longer use, but when we arrived they managed to fit us in even though it was busy! Food was amazing, drinks were fantastic, service was also 10/10 from every staff member we talked to. The cv-19 precautions were there, it was nice to see everything being sanitised before being used. I also love that they were supporting a local event and will definitely be coming back.

Staff were very professional, very friendly and interacted with customers. Each customer was welcomed with some friendly banter and it was easy to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.
The food was superb, staff were attentive to customers needs and nothing was too much trouble.
Overall, our best experience in Hervey Bay, we will certainly be making this our preferred eating out establishment in the future. Well done guys & gals! Top marks...

Typical club bistro food with a local twist. Generous servings served by friendly and attentive staff. Lovely position over the boat harbour. Definitely worth a visit. If you do their sunset cruise your ticket obtains a 10% discount on food that night.

The food was wonderful. The variety was glorious. The staff were very friendly and knew, or found out any information we wanted to know about each dish.
The drinks list was almost endless.
If you could not find something to suit you here for food or drink you should stay under your mushroom.
Absolutely beautiful.

We love tapas at the best of times, but not everyone does it well. We ordered garlic prawns for one of our dishes. The prawns were generous and flavoursome without being drowned out. The Companying aeoli was so incredibly light. Wow. We also had oysters kilpatrick, duck pancakes and arancini balls. All delicious. The staff were dealing very well with new covid restrictions they were handed only hours prior, including beautifully polite enforcing on non co operative patrons. Well done all
