Tired from a long day of travelling we booked into our room and asked the receptionist for best place to eat. She suggested On Lee Chinese.Wonderful welcome the moment we walked in and excellent service through the whole meal. We love Chicken and Sweet Corn...soup and weren’t disappointed then a combination curry with large fried rice to share. We felt like we were in China - such authentic flavours, tender meats and fresh crisp vegetables. Great price, atmosphere and very clean restaurant- totally recommendMore
Delicious food, friendly service and impeccable timing of meals. We had steamed dumplings, duck and Chinese mushrooms and chilli prawns. All brilliant! Generous serves. What a surprise! Well patronised by locals on Sunday evening with brisk takeaway. Really not to be missed if you are...passing through!More
Cantonese speaking proprietor was very obliging. We had real Chinese food : 苦瓜炒牛，冬瓜湯，薑葱清蒸豆腐。（beef & bitter melon, winter melon soup, steamed tofu with eschalottes and ginger). The facade is deceiving. Have not seen so many rosewood chairs in provincial Australia. A tribute to their dedication. Thank...you. We had a special dinner.More
We stay in Narrabri often on our way to and from Qld. Over the years we have tried all the dinner options in town and now we only go to the On Lee. Excellent sang choy bao, chilli prawns and garlic vegetables, lovely service and...a really nice atmosphere. Just ask for a bowl and chopsticks if that's what you prefer (we do), there is a selection of wine and beer and the coffee is good too. We always look forward to eating here.More
I'm not sure why it is that Chinese and Thai restaurants always hold back on fully flavoured dishes in country towns. I tried the Chilli Beef expecting to be underwhelmed again. To my surprise, there was loads of flavour and you could actually taste the...chilli.
The steamed dim sims were also exceptional.
Service was above average and ambience was nice.
As is usual these days, we had to ask for chopsticks and bowls, which were quickly provided.
Certainly above average and well worth the visit.More
