Great food and service. The staff have so much patience explaining the menu and crayfish to all their customers. We enjoyed the waterside location and tasty lunch. Worth a stop for sure.

We ate here twice and it was fantastic each time. This is good old fashioned kiwi hospitality and sea food at it's best. I love the fish and scallops sitting on fresh bread to capture all the yummy juices, just like we used to do it when we were kids. All of the ingredients are so obviously fresh.

Small little kiosk by the side of the road, just a bit before the seal colony. Food was fresh, grilled nicely and came served with some rice and salad. We paid $49 for a whole crayfish and had a side of scallops and fish, total bill was around $73. Not exactly cheap but we did order an entire crayfish. They... More

As a family we decided to give this place a visit on our walk to the Peninsula as it had been highly recommended. Be warned there is a lot of midgies/sandflies in the area. Apart from gods creatures being a tad annoying the food was excellent. I had the salmon with salad and bread and my partner has scallops with... More

Fresh seafood, cooked to order. Staff were friendly. I wish we would have had more cash on us though as we had to cut our order a little short as there was no credit card facilities. Would eat there again though if we're ever back.

Perfectly situated along the foreshore on the walk back to town from having walked the Peninsula Walk, the kiosk provides a brilliant selection of fresh seafood at a reasonable price.

We had 1/2 a crayfish, 6 prawns, salmon & grilled fish. All the food was fresh and delicious. We spent $70, but I must say we were both still hungry and we are not the biggest eaters. Despite this, the food was yum, the staff were lovely and we really enjoyed eating from a Kaikoura institution!

Thank Mia W

Recommended by Lonely Planet. Freshly cooks seafood to order on BBQ outdoors. Very good and cheaper than the local restaurants. Everything served in a sandwich or with rice and salad. Open daily weather permitting from 11am
