The service was friendly but as other reviewers have noted, this place is in real need of a refresh or makeover, both with its decor and its menu. My coffee was fine but sadly could not order anything to eat as there seems to be...More

This café used to be beside the bus stop which has shifted to be beside a better café! The coffee is of the cheaper variety and sort of made OK but not worth the price. The food follows the same 'cut corners' philosophy and is...More

I always got my takeaway coffee from here. Two reasons.... Coffee is good and the staff are exceptionally nice people. They always know what I want and are nice chatty folk.

Bayon Expresso is at the edge of Thames. It offers a variety of low cost meals and the decor is very 1980s. But the veggie pie I had, which was one of the best around. And the coffee was rather good with rather neat coffee...More

Stopped for a driving break at Bayon Expresso in Thames recently and was served the single worst milkshake I can remember. Ordered the thick chocolate shake (NZ$4.50), which came out as a highly-liquid and odd-textured drink that tasted of soft ice-cream that had been blended...More

We have not visited this cafe for several years, but did while in Thames again recently. Great food, great layout and REAL dining chairs, that you can sit on comfortably. Good table size and spacious layout.

This cafe offers the standard fare for an NZ Breakfast...eggs benedict, poached eggs/bacon etc etc as well as "healthier" options. Staff were friendly. The cafe is located right where the Intercity bus drops off/picks up passengers so would be handy for travelers.

Ordered the combo of hamburger and chips, chips were very salty, hamburger was just a basic hamburger. Just an average place to eat, prices were average. Took a while for the food to arrive but that was not really a problem for us as we...More

Cannot recommend the Eggs Benedict. Advertised as being served with Hollandaise sauce (to be expected), but came covered in foul tasting mayonnaise!

Not exactly the coolest of cafes if you judge a place purely by the decor and ambience but was very surprised how good the pancakes were. Served with a combo of bacon and banana, everything was cooked to perfection with the syrup making it as...More
