Quiet location just south of Thames main centre and connected to a garden centre. Enjoyed a pretty decent flat white and excellent value Mussel fritters, salad included. Three generous sized Mussel fritters with salad for $15. Very good value and really flavoursome. Lemon meringue not so good. Friendly service and relaxing spacious setting. Browse garden centre beforehand. Will be back... More

We popped in here for a coffee and a snack. The setting was nice, and we sat outside and enjoyed the sun. The service was good, as was the coffee and food.

I have no idea why there is a photo of an inner city Auckland cafe on this review because Tastebud cafe is located near Thames in the Coromandel. It is part of a small but very nice garden centre and we sometimes go there on a Sunday afternoon. I really like the choices available in gluten free baking (the Ginger... More

Stopped for a brunch during a long road trip. Found prices for locally baked pies and some other food items was huge, and the selection of cabinet food was quite limited but looked good. Coffee was nice but service was very lack-lustre; no smiles or small talk. Wouldn't go back.

Coffees are good, cabinet food is really good.but we were hugely disappointed by the cooked breakfasts we ordered. My wife had eggs bendict which she told me were mediocre at best, i had the creamy mushrooms which they should rename the watery mushrooms. Absolutely aweful, cooked mushrooms in a watery sauce which caused the toast to go soggy. I can... More

We used to take a detour if crossing the coromandel ranges to head up from the kip u turnoff and stop for lunch here. The food was well worth it with some home made delights but with change of ownership which I found out about during my last visit which happened about 2-3 years ago it starts to explain some...
