We happened upon the Bees Knees and what a find it was. It is in the perfect location to stay at before starting out on the Waikato River Trail. We stayed in a bunk room but they also offer camping and more private accommodation. The owners are very welcoming and full of local knowledge and on top of that make... More

Frequently stop here for coffee and snack after weekend exercise with friends. Great coffee and a good selection of cabinet food. The staff are always friendly. Lovely to sit outside in the sun.

I think since the Cafe has changed ownership there has been a bit of a decline in service and some of the food. The coffee is always good, however it seems to be taking a long time to arrive. My visit last week was disappointing as I was greeted by a not so friendly woman, it seemed a massive big... More

The scone was great. My wife likes the tea - best in town according to her! The staff are (mostly) friendly.

A simple little big breakfast with a latte. Couldn't have been better. Great to get proper quality bacon instead of that often served watery tasteless stuff. Coffee was hot and strong. Service friendly. A happy place to be.

The location is easy and the good service nd quality food was most pleasant. Its a unique setting but still provides a good variety of Café food and drinks.

Does a one-off bad experience amongst other more pleasurable experiences warrant a bad review? I'd normally say no, but today I was served the WORST. COFFEE. EVER and cannot let it pass. Finding and retaining a talented, consistent barista seems to be the one key challenge faced by this business. Don't get me wrong - I like this place: it... More

As a stop on the way from Havelock North to Wellington it is a bit out of the way, but this quaint cafe is well worth it. The staff were very help dealing with kids who had been locked in a car too long and the food and coffee well fantanstic.

Regularly pop in here for one of their muffins, they are really good! An interesting place to sit & eat, quaint little shop. The scones are yum too - and there is always an array of food in the cabinet. Wouldn't recommend the seafood chowder - it was thin and not creamy; but that could be personal preference. Has full... A lovely small cafe, with fresh inviting food. Friendly staff, and friendly atmosphere, Cosy would be a good wayof putting it. There are a couple of outside tables, which is lovely on a sunny day..
