Authentic, delicious Italian food. We ordered stewed beef homemade pasta, Arrabiata sauce pasta and fish dish. The food taste good but main complaint is we thought the Arrabiata pasta is a seafood marinara dish except that there is no seafood for the price that we paid (Aud 37)! Just plain tomato sauce pasta.

Food was great. Service extremely poor. Booking was for 8pm. When it was time to order dessert and coffee were advised that the kitchen is closed. No one advised us that the kitchen was closing. We had to call the staff to order our dessert.

Hello there, it seems like you might have posted the review on the wrong business.
Our kitchen closes at 9:30pm, but only for new orders and take away and the restaurant is open until late to allow all our customers to really enjoy their experience at La Scarpetta and would never be refused a dessert or coffee, also the bar is always open. There’s another restaurant underneath us, maybe you’re confusing us with them.

Highly recommend this place. Arancini was very good and the pasta in lamb shoulder sauce was absolutely delicious. My partner had the eye fillet and the serving was huge - big piece of steak surrounded by veggies, good luck finishing the whole lot!
Service was prompt and friendly. They were quite busy especially for an early sitting so glad we booked ahead. Couldn’t really fault the place, will definitely be back if visiting the area again!

Went for a birthday meal while visiting Margaret River. Have been several times before and although the menu has hardly changed over the years what they produce is great Italian food. Made the mistake of having starters then struggled to finish mains. Absolutely no room for desserts unfortunately. Ambience and staff were great too.

Solid Italian food in quaint surroundings with friendly and efficient service. My barramundi was excellent as was my wife’s ravioli. The desserts were also delicious – panna cotta for me and gelato affogato for my wife. You have to go to the bar to order, which can make for heavy traffic in that area.

My husband & I were looking forward to catching up with friends whom we had not seen for years. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food and the abrupt way we were asked to vacate our table because the 2 hour time limit was up. Furthermore, we actually had not finish our main , no opportunity to order dessert and most importantly our wine was half drunk , so we were told to stand outside in the corner to drink the remaining wine.
By adopting a fast food mentally , La Scarpetta has lost the restaurant vibe where people wine and dine and appreciate the dining experience.

We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your meal, we can assure you that all of our meals are made with the freshest ingredients, daily, by our highly qualified chefs. Unfortunately, regarding the two hours limit, we promise we don’t take any pleasure in telling our customers that the table is rebooked, but we make sure we tell everyone about it and it only applies to our first sitting. When booking online, it is in fact a policy our customers need to agree to in order to secure the booking and since your reservation was made online you would have been aware of the time restriction. This is quite common in most hospitality venues especially those of a smaller size in order to accommodate demand as well as making it viable for us to remain in business. We do however make accommodation for longer sittings where possible if you had reached out and told us this was a concern for you.

Every time I visit Margaret River, I make a point of booking a table at La Scarpetta Trattoria at least two weeks ahead of my trip. Everything about the experience is divine and indulgent. Just the compliment Margaret River needs to go with all the amazing local food and beverages available. The staff are both gracious and knowledgeable and make my time most enjoyable. Hence I keep returning year after year.

Was rather disappointed with the overall experience, including the food. We dined here on Saturday evening a late booking of 8.30. We were greeted warmly and taken to our table but after that the service with a smile and general hospitality was non existent. The two European waitresses were rude, or just moody and very unhelpful.
We ordered Entree’s Arancini and Octopus, which were nice. Though the brown paper bag wrapped Arancini on a plate with dipping sauce didn’t exactly excite me.
My partner ordered the Eye Fillet (to the waitresses horror, I think she was more concerned about the possible 45 minute wait than us) and I the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. The steak was cook perfectly and the sauce tasty, but the way it was thrown on the pIate was something you would expect from a pub. The Bolognese looked amazing and the pasta was homemade which is always a bonus but the sauce was extremely bland and dry. It was definitely missing that richness, garlic and seasoning.
We ordered the cheese board for desert, but more crackers would have been nice. and again it seemed the waitress was not happy about us ordering. I even wiped down our own table as she stood there before the cheese board was rudely placed down.
Overall I class this place average, I wish I could say better things as I really wanted to enjoy it.
Maybe last bookings should be 8.00pm as I felt the staff just didn’t want to be there.

Fantastic I had the ravioli my wife the fish of the day pink snapper. Complemented with an authentic Italian Pinot Grigio couldn’t ask for more with friendly enthusiasm by all staff. All the best Barbara and Geoff Inglis

Quirky little place but was a bit disappointed with the menu. Couldn’t remove anything from any of the dishes so was limited on choice for me. Don’t really cater for kids especially fussy ones as they could only do Linguini with no sauce, not pasta or spaghetti just linguini. Good sized meals but would have been a lot more enjoyable if we could have minused one ingredient from the dishes.

What a great dinner. It’s really unusual for us both to order the same and here we both had the Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder Pappardelle. It was so good for a cold winters evening. The food arrived so quickly. And nice to be able to get a carafe of wine.

Located near entrance to Margaret River, La Scarpetta Trattoria has the best fillet steak in WA perfectly cooked to your requirements. Served by lovely friendly staff in a vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommended for consistency of good food and good service.

Sadly we were disappointed with the food after being told that it was a great place for pasta and a great Italian in Margaret River.
Over priced, I’m a vegan, so had the salad option with pumpkin and feta. The worst salad I’ve had and lacked flavour and flair. The Pumpkin with feta was lacking in a feta and big chunks of Pumpkin was lazy:
Pasta with sausage was cold and lacked flavour- one pasta dish was great but not enough.
Service ok- over priced and very disappointing:

A starter and three out of four mains were bland and disappointing.
The lovely decor and beautiful crockery did not make up for the high prices and small portions. When asked, we remarked to the waiter that our dessert of cheese filled pastry with honey sauce ( Seadas) was mediocre and slightly rancid tasting, no discount or apology was given.
What we really wanted was a pizza, but none on menu.

Bruschetta was excellent with the tastiest tomatoes we had in years.
We had to ask twice for a pepper shaker that actually had some peppercorns in it.
Partners lamb shoulder pasta was good.
I ordered fettuccini gamberi, pasta was undercooked and crunchy, I sent it back to the kitchen.
When it returned it was cooked but lacked flavour and was overly salty.
I was reluctant to order dessert after this.
