Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've lost count of how many 'roast pumpkin salads' I've had in country pubs, typically chunks of boiled pumpkin and packet salad thrown into a bowl. Or you might get a fake meat burger. At the Settlers there were multiple vegetarian options on the menu...and I had excellent cauliflower tacos. Doesn't sound promising, but it was top notch. The burger options were house made - no fake meat here. While the mythology suggests Margs is full of hippies, there is less vegetarian food than you would imagine and just token efforts by a number of the the posh wineries. Relax at the Settlers with a beer and something better. The wine list isn't bad either.More

Good pub food, nice ambience and a good selection of local and imported beers and wines. A family friendly pub and a nice outdoor area. Worth a visit.

We’d been here for a drink a few nights ago and sat outside. Tonight it was raining so we went into the bistro. It was really busy, but they found us a table. Service was excellent very efficient and rapid given how busy the place...was. The food was really good, lamb koftas- beautifully spiced - and a lamb curry- absolutely delicious. The desserts were excellent too, a large creme brûlée, one of the best we’ve had.More

The Settler's Tavern is on the main street in Margaret River. We had a 6:30 reservation and drove to the parking lot behind the building. They seated us right away at a table in the main dining room. I had a good lamb curry and...my wife had fish tacos. My wife's daughter had a vegetarian dish with rice, cauliflower and green beans. The dinners were all good as well as the house shiraz.More

Six years since visiting this pub and visually it hasn’t changed a bit. Good range of tap beers, and everything you could possibly want available in bottles. We watched food being served in the main bar, but when the bistro opened, food service was no...longer available in the bar, which I found strange. Went around to the bistro and was told by one staff member that they were full and no tables were available. Asked another staff member and was seated immediately. The lady taking the meal orders was clueless and told us the 300g rump was sold out, until suddenly it wasn’t. I worked out that staff training doesn’t seem to be a priority at this pub. The meals arrived quickly and they were fine, but the arrogance of the wait staff behind the bar in the bistro, especially one male member, is something I don’t strike often and clearly he would have preferred to be somewhere else. All in all an average venue, with (surprisingly) little pub style competition in the area which allows them to thrive with minimal effort I believe.More

Country pub packed on a busy Friday. Fast service. Lats of choices on the menu. The famous Steak sandwich was not a disappointment. Entertainment after 9pm

The Settlers Tavern is renowned for its slow cooked beef brisket on the weekends. The servings sizes were considerable and the food was delicious. Service was friendly and very fast! The Tavern's wine list is like a book with plenty to choose from. It had...been 8 years since our last visit and we were not disappointed!More

Hard working team. Very involved manager. Book a table because this place gets busy. It’s a shame about the noisy music, but I admit that I’m probably older than their target demographic. Fabulous tender beef brisket. Not a bad kale salad (but the pumpkin could...be baked a little longer for more flavour). The bible was amazing including rare Italian wines. And the wine list prices were very reasonable. If only there was a quiet place to sit and enjoy them.More

Whilst in Margaret River we visited Settler's nearly every night for food. It is lively but relaxed place with good variety of food and excellent variety of beers and wines. Had different meal every night and all were good without an exception. Live music some...nights outside eating and a separate bar. Prices very good and food quality good. Try the brisket you won't be disappointed.More

This spot is awesome in the centre of town, portions are large and the food is of good quality for the price. Pick of the menu was the steak sandwich, perfect in every way and the ginger beer was also sublime. Great place to eat...relax and chill out.More

Had a fab meal here to celebrate my husband’s birthday got there before the time we had booked and it was not a problem sat at the table we had booked and ordered our food after having a drink. Food was fantastic but the portions...are massive so to be quite honest we could have shared the starters and main courses. Staff were great and so many of them that you were not left sitting waiting. However if you want to have a bit of a break after your starters just ask them otherwise there is not any respite between courses. Great atmosphere family friendly restaurant.Well done to all that work there you work extremely hard but because of this you have made it the success that it is .More

Been here forever and you know what you will get every time. Would’ve visited a dozen times and not had a bad meal yet. Can be busy but parking generally available and lots of tables. Need to order separately at the bar for food and...drinks, but staff always friendly and helpful. On this occasion bar staff helped me take all the drinks to our table. Old bar type decor but always clean plus the range of food / drinks is always good. The BLTs where huge, fresh and perfectly cooked. The last visit was probably our best, with the food and service top notch. Thanks for a great experienceMore

A small group of friends looking for somewhere cool on a hot day. Outside seating at the bistro. Thick green artificial turf, sun shades everywhere, fans and this was our spot! Drinks and food reasonably well priced. Meals ordered and delivered by very friendly, attentive...staff who were super busy. We had a fussy eater amongst us and he praised his meal (bangers and mash) over and over. Well done team! Happy to recommend 💥More
