As part of our stay we had a $25 voucher to spend at this restaurant. It is a tapas menu so we chose 3 main and a side which suited us fine as we were not overly hungry. The dishes were excellent and would recommend.

There was nothing enjoyable about our experience at this place. To start with, you have to get your own cutlery and water, even though there was literally no one else in the restaurant. Our waitress had no idea about the wine or food when asked....After waiting 15 minutes for our bottle of wine, we approached the waitress asking where it was. She came back with the wine and blamed the ticket system (not sure why she didnt get the bottle straight away when there was no one there). The food labelled GF was not GF, so if it is an option should be labelled GFO. We ordered their recommended two dishes each and a side, and everything tasted bland. The pork belly only had flavour as it sat in a bowl of soy sauce/"sticky sauce". So many better options in town. This place should not have a tapas style menu or at least drop its prices to reflect the value.More

We came across the Willow Grill while walking around Margaret River. Looking for somewhere to eat that night we asked for a menu so we know before hand that it is a tapas restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. I can highly recommend the...steak and mushroom skewers, the pork belly and the bruschetta with a side of parmesan and truffle fries. Excellent meal with good, attentive service. Will definitely go there again next time we're in townMore

My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend and I googled best places to eat and this place popped up. The menu only had tapas to choose from, no steaks or burgers or anything for main meals. We ended up just staying and...eating here which we really shouldn’t have. The food was a dogs breakfast and we didn’t eat any of it. We got meatballs, pork belly and onion rings. ALL of it was overcooked and over priced. The recommendation on the menu was to order 2 tapas and 1 side PER PERSON. Each tapas was 16 dollars and a side was 10 so that’s 42 dollars for one person. My boyfriend ordered a Jack Daniels and they put a shot of jacks in a glass with some ice and no coke... it was 10 dollars and the waitress told us it would be extra. The whole meal ended up being around 70 bucks, literally just throwing money away. Will never ever eat here again and will tell anyone going to Margaret river to steer clear.More

Had looked online for a local restaurant where we could get a good steak and this popped up. Sadly when we got there they only had a tapas menu. Trying to make the best of it we ordered a couple of dishes and their ‘special’....Not good. Ordinary at best and the ‘special’ was almost inedible. The waitresses were very sweet .. but the ambiance was awful due to what appeared to be some micro managing male supervisor. Seriously horrible evening out.More

Stayed in Margaret River for our 50th anniversary and decided to try Willow Grill, a tapas restaurant situated in the grounds of Stay, Margaret River. We ordered the special, prawn gyoza plus salt and pepper calamari, slow cooked lamb ribs and green vegetables from the...menu. Loved them all, the broccoli and green beans tasted as though they had just been picked from the garden, so fresh, juice and sweet, the gyoza and calamari had subtle taste of chilli and perfectly cooked - often not the case with calamari. My husband, who is not keen on lamb ribs raved on about the tenderness and seasoning, I think now a fan. All this topped off with a glass of bubbly each. Total cost $75 which I was pretty happy about and we were both pretty full loving the walk back to our accommodation. Staff were very friendly, yes you do have to collect your single plate, cutlery and napkins from a sideboard, but I’m sure if it would upset you the staff would be more than obliging, not a big problem for us. Lovely outdoor setting which would be lovely in summer or lunchtime overlooking a pond.More

A most pleasant night with great food and service. I rarely compliment the chef but this was the best.

We opted to dine here while staying at the hotel and were very, very pleased we did. The meal, tapas style dishes, was absolutely excellent as was the service. The wine special was also delightful. Looking forward to dining here again when next in Margaret...River.More

We had breakfast included in the deal we had and it was excellent. Cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, fruit juices, porridge, toast and hot choices. Filter coffee was great. Everything was constantly topped up. Staff were great and very pleasant. However, if you were only...having continental breakfast, you might expect a muffin or pastry. Nothing to complain about here. But dinner was pricey for what it was. Dishes were small and nothing was very special. Not for the price. If you were big eaters it would be an expensive meal. Especially as there are lots of other choices around. We went down to "The River" the next night and was much nicer. Better ambiance too. But felt like better value for money.More

I was so disappointed with the food and service. Must mention the staff are wonderful and friendly. I had to get my own plate and cutlery. Had pork belly in a tiny bowl. Also ordered the salad. Basically lettuce drizzled with generic dressing. Food did...not look appealing which is so important. Partner ordered steak, which came chopped up in a bowl! Food was cheap but small so required you to spend more, which is not nice because you end up spending more than if you ordered a standard pub meal somewhere else. Basically if you spent $6 more you could eat a fantastic burger with hand cut chips At “the River“. Lift your game. Don’t be sneaky with pricing. Serve proper size portion food, offer a main, and don’t make it feel like a retirement dinner, with food coming out on trolley with wheels. Would eat at The River every night instead. $22 for a burger and chips.More
