From the first contact with ‘Matt’ to book, this was a great experience for us and our tastebuds. I’d requested a table with a view and wasn’t disappointed with a lovely view up Hopkins River and out another window towards the inlet.
Dinner started with a generous entree serving of Fried Calamari. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pork Belly for main served with a lovely salad of apple & fennel and a potato croquette. Hubby had the Eye Fillet with potato gratin & veges & mushroom sauce and claimed it to be the best he has ever had. I got a bite to taste and it was perfectly cooked and the mushroom sauce was one of the nicest I’ve had. I’m wishing I’d taken photos of the mains cos they looked great as well.
For dessert I had Chocolate Semi Freddo which was a block of creamy semi-frozen chocolate mousse served with fresh honeycomb & berries sitting on chocolate crumbs. Positively delightful!! Hubby had the Creme Brûlée with a perfectly torched toffee surface.
Service was courteous, friendly and attentive.
A thoroughly memorable night!!

Went here for lunch with some girl friends. Lovely atmosphere but not a lot of selection for lunch. The meal that I decided on was way too big to eat at lunch & no desserts or cakes were available which was disappointing! Great table service tho!

We made a booking here especially, on the recommendation of friends. As we were travelling from Portland, we made it a late lunch booking. It was requested that we arrive at 1:30pm because the kitchen shut at 2pm. After being swiftly seated at a fantastic window view table, it then took a while to have our order taken. Ordering a drink while we waited for our entree, 35 minutes passed before anyone came back near our table. Garlic bread was sat down, followed by our mains 2 minutes later. Food was fantastic, so I would highly recommend on that front- so too is the location. Having other plans that we needed to head to straight after lunch, meant that we had to rush our meal. It’s just a shame that the poor service has let down what would’ve otherwise been a 5 star review.

This place has an unbelievable setting right on the river, with ocean views as well. The food was O.K, but nothing to inspire. The usual menu of Parma, fish and chips, Calamari etc. Large servings and reasonable presentation. The day we were there, the fish was unavailable???? But the service was awful at best. Flippant about the lack of menu items, very slow delivery of drinks, very slow meal orders and bad attitude when they made a mistake with the bill. Very disappointed.

We walked in, place wasn't very busy but it just seemed too difficult to put us in a spot we wanted. It was very windy so we wanted to be inside but with near a window. Then my wife asked a question about a salad as she is allergic to certain vinegars and was promptly told by the waiter "well you can't eat it then" and he walked off. We got up and left and won't return

We celebrated a 90th birthday with our family and had a wonderful afternoon enjoying good food and lovely views of the Hopkins river.
Prices were reasonable and good variety of food to cater for everyone. Coffee was also very nice.
Staff very very helpful making our celebration a great event.

An occasional visitor to Warrnambool, I always look forward to dining at Poudfoots. Usually it's for a long, lazy lunch with close friends. One can't help but feel relaxed at this boathouse. Weather permitting, I prefer a table on the verandah. The menu offers something to suit most tastes. The pork belly has become one of my favourites. Consistently good. The mostly wine list is not extensive but afforable. Some local wines are included.mThe service is usually friendly and unfussed, as one would expect in a regional city. On my visits to, lunches can go for 3 hours. Time just slips away. Highly recommended.

The location of Proudfoots is beautiful, and the team who served us were extremely generous, kind and helpful.
The kitchen staff were amazing and the meal they produced was beyond expectation.
Certainly a restaurant I will be returning to on my next trip!

We had a pleasant evening with 2 courses and wine and beer. The restaurant was short staffed the night we were in but we hardly noticed as the wait staff worked tirelessly to ensure we had a great night. The meals were tasty.

The restaurant has a lovely outlook and we sat outside as it was a lovely sunny day. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food is well presented qnd is very flavoursome with clever use of native herbs.

Stumbled upon this place at the last minute.Wasnt sure to do breakfast or lunch, we ending doing lunch. Beautiful view with lovely setting inside. Food was good with good prices. Staff were a little to busy to stop by the table for a longer discussion about if we were staying for breakfast or lunch. Felt pressure to order quickly as breakfast was near over! Staff seemed like they were too busy to stop and chat calmly with us, they seen not interested for that extra few mins of their time! They cut the conversation short! Very weird but the food was good.

An institution in Warrnambool that does not disappoint....ask for a table with a view inside or out.....helpful staff, great food, good wine list...what more could you want! A booking is advised to get the best table.

Great service by our waiter and excellent meals. Calamari entree the best I have ever had. All members of our group enjoyed their meals as well. Recommend highly to people who enjoy fine food from Warrnambool or out of Town.

We absolutely love the food choices and service here. Everything is second to none. With a new menu just arriving, they have taken it up a notch again which is amazing. I had the crocodile pie and it was superb. Well done team

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the position is stunning and the food was very good. We ate here twice and it was very good both times. Highly recommend. The service was good too, friendly wait staff.
