We stopped at flying horse for tea while on our holiday. Fantastic service, so much to choose on the menu. I ended up having filo chicken with garlic sauce and vegies. Vegies were perfect and filo chicken so delicious... Definately get your money worth on a plate.. 10/10 highly recommend.

Each time I come here my food is delicious. The meal sizes are generous and quite tasty. There has been the odd occasion where our food was a bit overcooked or dry but we are generally happy. Lots of room for seating in different areas is a plus.

Great Pub with Excellent Food.

This is the second time I've eaten here and this time we were a party of 10 and we came here on my recommendation. The Flying Horse didn't disappoint. The service both on the floor and behind the bar was super friendly and helpful. The food was just as delicious as last time and not one person in our group was diappointed with their meal. Well done to all.

Food very disappointing

I have eaten here on a almost regular basis and have always found the meals very enjoyable, lovely and good value for money. My wife & I attended a presentation night last Monday. My wife had a seniors Calamari, while i also had a main calamari Which has always been my favorite meal there, however both of us found it very bland and I left most of it on the plate (not nice at all> We happened to return tonight for another presentation night. My wife ordered the lamb cutlets which she thought they were probably deep fried with the vegetables very al dente (rock hard & just warm) I chose the open steak sandwich, as did two other blokes either side of me. We all had trouble cutting the through the steak as it was very tough to say the least. I'm not certain what cut of meat it was, but it was not a good cut. Consensus was that it was most likely oyster blade. Very disappointed to get crap meals twice in the one week. Sorry guys I don't normally do reviews but had to say something. If you continue to serve meals like this you won't last long especially at the prices you charge ($29.50) not worth $10.

Family with children seated in the bar and TAB area

Very disappointing experience. We booked a few days in advance knowing it was a busy time due to covid restrictions, despite booking for a family with 3 children we were seated in the bar next to the tab betting area. (Picture multiple screens with racing and results flashing in your face). When we asked to be seated somewhere more appropriate for a family we were told that is all they had. As a result we walked out and were left to find somewhere else to dine at the last minute on a very busy evening. Had we have been told we would be seated in the bar at the time of booking we could have made alternative arrangements in advance and found somewhere appropriate to dine.

We are sorry you didn't feel comfortable in the allocated area. Now restrictions have eased we would love to accommodate you within the other sections of the venue so you can have an experience.

Disappointing After Change of Ownership

This was our first visit after they changed hands a few months ago. The menu was very disappointing - ordinary 'pub food', and nothing like the previous variety of interesting dishes. The food quality was average for the price and the service was disorganised. There are much betters restaurants in Warrnambool charging similar prices. we certainly won't eat there again.

Great place to dine for people of all ages

The Flying Horse - hmmm do horses fly? Perhaps they do here. For the celebration of the life of a dear friend of my partner, we attended a gathering of family and friends at #theflyinghorse It’s a very large venue with many spaces to gather collectively. We were seated in a lovely spot but wasn’t too noisy considering the number of people. Menu is traditional pub food at reasonable prices. My partner had a medium rare porterhouse steak which was cooked exactly as requested. It was accompanied with honey candied carrots, broccolini and garlic flavoured mashed potato’s. I ordered the penne carbonara and took up the option of chicken that was served with shaved parmesan. Portion sizes were good and taste not bad for a pub meal, considering the volume of food they were pumping out. The bar is well stocked and although I chose the house red, it was pretty good. Kids are well catered for and it’s an ideal ‘family friendly’ place to eat. Bonus - no poker machines humming in the background. Plenty of car parking. Courtesy bus available and that was well used by our group. Best of all, the staff were amazing. Helpful. Courteous. Friendly. Good Meal

We ate here for lunch and enjoyd our meals. It was quite busy but the service was good. You order and pay for your meal at the bar, the bar has plenty of TVs with different sports playing on them. Plenty of different areas to eat in, dining room, causal, bar and they have private function rooms as well. A good place for lunch

Drive thru Parma

I ordered the chicken Parma with vegies drive thru. I got salad and a few chips. The Parma was not real chicken breast and was awful. The sale was disgraceful mainly lettuce leaves with some onion pineapple and capsicum. No tomatoes or cucumber it was awful. For $25 Will not go again. Raffeetys Are $15 And a far superior meal.

Thanks for your feedback. We have changed the style of Parma which may prove better for you. So we can work on the process better did you order vegies and got chips and salad? Considering how awful it was for you it may not make any difference but on Mondays we offer Half Price Parmas. Thanks again!

Great pub meal

We had 4 different meals all great, it was very busy so book. On the way through Warrnambool to our accommodation. Lots to pick from roast of the day amazing Plenty of veggies one was cauliflower with creamy sauce. Drinks on tap went down well.

Fantastic dining experience

Fantastic family meal enjoyed by all ages. Quick and attentive and very professional service from the staff. Good selection of food what was all excellent. Highly recommend the Beer Belly from the specials menu. Even when we accidently broke a glass over one meal, this was cheerfully and quickly replaced by the kitchen. Can't recommend enough. I noticed the service staff all seemed quite young but was impressed at how highly professional and caring they all were. Whatever you doing to get such a good service culture, keep it up. Thanks

The staff needs a course in hospitality

Went out for a family dinner and it was the worst experience. The waitress had no personality and wouldn’t allow any small changes to the meals to accommodate any one. The calamari was overcooked and dark brown, everyone got their meals at different times and all the meals were stuffed up. The restaurant was way too noisy and just wasn’t a nice atmosphere at all. We won’t be back

This place was atrocious, meal of flathead was so oily and greasy it quickly became inedible. The schnitzel was ok but again greasy. Both meals left a bad taste in mouth, so washed it down with an aperol spritz: trouble is they don’t know how to make them, so ended up with a short glass of aperol and Soda, no Prosecco and no orange segments. They said they were short staffed but no excuse for such poor quality

We arrived early and we rang up for a booking arrived and they did not have r booking record they found us a nice spot to sit for. 2 they gave us a bit of time to browse through the menu couple minutes later they came straight over to take our order and pay for it there was a wait about 20 mins the meals were big i had a beautiful brisket burger which was filling the wife had a steak sandwich Said the steak was a bit cold other the service was great
