Maybe because there are few winery dining options around Mildura and Trentham Estates came well recommended from various reviews read, we expected more of a finer dining experience. The reality was the food was basic and deliverd in what could be described as average 'pub'...service where you order and pay at a window and collect your own meals some metre's away when you are 'buzzed'. The setting on the banks of the Murray River were excellent and the wines good and reasonably priced.More

One of the best winery lunch experiences I've ever experienced!! The food and wine service is a professional, well managed and delightful experience which many other restaurants could well do with replicating. Wines pleasingly surprised me with their complexity and flavour and the food was...amazing. The part you can't miss is the incredible view. Wow what a special place to enjoy lunch!More

Tried to visit 2 days ago only to be told that as we were from Sydney we were not allowed entry . Considering we live 2.5 hours from the northern hotspot we were not happy . Hypocrites as the sign on the door said they...were practising social distancing and only 9 people allowed - there would have been triple the people and no social distancing. Sydney people don’t bother going here as you won’t be welcome . Plus won’t ever be purchasing your wine againMore

We picked the furthest corner of Victoria when the ring of steel lifted. Mildura it is! Little did we know this would be a weekend of 46° weather! We tried booking in for lunch on the website, but it said no seats available. We decided...to just turn up to see the place and try some wines anyway. We're glad we did. Apparently they had more than 100 people cancel their lunch booking because of the heat. We got in with no trouble. I did a seated wine tasting then lunch outside, under the shade of lovely trees and overlooking the Murray. The food was excellent. The staff very friendly. The wines were good value. We left with a dozen mixed bottles, including their reserve chardonnay, reserve shiraz and balsamic which are only available at their cellar door.More

Some years ago we visited this venue for lunch and we were treated to a fine meal in the restaurant with impeccable service. This meant that we very much wanted to visit again for lunch. I duly made a booking which was received in a...rather nonchalant way which rang alarm bells right away. The operator explained that he didn’t have the booking screen open but that “he would put us down”. Upon arrival we were told by the waitress receiving us that she didn’t put our booking down as there were only two of us. We were then told that the air conditioned restaurant, the scene of our last excellent meal, was only available for wine tasting and that we could sit outside where the temperature was 40 degrees. At no time in the booking process were we told that this would be the arrangement. As we are both in our seventies, e would not have made the booking if we knew that we had to eat outdoors. Anyway we duly ordered a meal even though I felt like just leaving and going back into Mildura to find somewhere air conditioned. When the food was ready, my wife was presented with a dish she hadn’t ordered. The response was to send her back round to the ordering window. There was absolutely no interest in putting things right. I had finished my meal by the time her meal was ready and she had to pick it up again from the serving window. In the past I have taken overseas visitors to Trentham Estate and I have been proud to show off a fine example of Australian fine dining. I’m very sad to say that the service has declined to the standard of a very average pub. We have made our last visit to this venue and we will be advising our friends of our experience.More

This winery is dog friendly, set us in a lovely spot outside for wine tasting (as we had the dog) we called before coming. Inside tasting (for people without dog) Large outside grassed area, looked like most dining is outside, set on the river, very...peaceful. Mist sprinklers for cooling under trees and shade structures. It was 41 degrees when we were there and still lovely. Tasted a few wines, loved the "Frizzante" chilled red Food was lovely, we had the vege stack, satay coconut chicken scewers and porter house steak. All very nice. Staff were very friendly (explained no table service due to covid)More

There is no better place to share a bottle of wine and grab a shared plate from the kitchen then sit on the river bank in the sun. Always a great experience!

Unfortunately we couldn’t stay for the lunch we had booked as the table was outside on the grass with no heating on a 14 degree winters day. We were the second group to leave for this reason. I am not sure what they were planning...to do if it had rained. Highly recommend calling to book and check where the table is before confirming. We love alfresco dining in the right weather! Everyone very disappointed.More
