After hearing some recommendations we dropped in for dinner while passing through town. We felt welcome and the friendly staff seemed to enjoy working there. After a beer we sat down to a rib eye steak which was tender, perfectly cooked and at $30 was...also excellent value for money. All in all a great meal and we will happily return next time we are in town.More
Decent pub feed. Meals quite large and we could hardly eat everything on the plates. Special shout out to Troy who provided exceptional customer service. Troy is how all hospitality staff should be - kind, courteous and acts like he is interested in his job.
Staff are rude and not welcoming. Been on a couple of accaisons for dinner. No hello how are you, pushy to order so they can get you in and they can get out. Patrons generally know what times meals are open too. Majority dont need...to be told the minute you sit down without welcoming you or letting you know what the nights specials are. Turned us off even having dinner so left and went elsewhere instead. Have had not so good experiences with wait staff. Not a lot of variety and meals are not that good from past experience. Thought we would give them another chance. Wont be eating there againMore
I ordered a dozen oysters Kilpatrick which had a teaspoon of bbq sauce on each one , this was our second meal here , you know what they say fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me 🙈never again
Tasteless food. Roast meat pre heated but not roasted on site. Retired butcher says meat is just reheated not cooked on site
Absolutely best Parmi around. Parmi night is Thursday and the Parmis are great and a very generous serve. Chips are so fresh as well. I get either the meat lovers or haeaiian and love them both It's the only place we eat in town. Troy...that works there has always got a smile on his face. Could not be more helpfulMore

I dined here twice last week. One night I had the roast Beef, good size serving, meat slight tough I thought but not too bad. Good veggies. The second night I had the sea food platter for one, fresh prawns and deep fied fish and...shell fish, chips and salad. That was excellent. Service very good from great staff. Prices moderate, perhaps a touch high for a club. Very busy both nights. Highly recommended, I would return. I rate it 8/10 for food and service.More
Reception was great. Dinning service poor when asked for well cooked steak it was served rare. Staff said change it with the other which was supposed to be med rare. This was also served rare. Young woman got the steak put back on the grill...but really didn’t want to know about it. Vegetables and Salad were good Chips cold and had been sitting around.More
What a totally disappointing experience, didn’t even get to try the food. My wife and I arrived in the afternoon before bistro opened and had a beer. This is on a Thursday in February.Nice staff and lady at front desk very nice. At 6.00 pm...I went to bistro counter and asked for menu. I would say 15% of the tables were occupied. The girl said have you booked, I said no I can book now, any time will be ok. Lady came from kitchen and said we a fully booked and I am short staffed. No chance and I can’t serve you and went back to kitchen.Obviously having bad day. The younger girl said maybe after 7.30 pm but can’t promise. Mind you after 8.00 pm lakes entrance is shut down for food. So they couldn’t fit 2 people in and one staff so rude and no apology or compassion.Went to Nicks and was welcomed with open arms. Lady in kitchen was just horrible and rude and cold. I was only trying to spend my money there. Never will step foot in Lakes Entrance Bowling club again. After turning up, not booked in for the restaurant we did have to wait, which was fine; the staff were very friendly and nice, only thing I would question is that they said the restaurant was full, but there were so many empty tables, not...being used; and with not a lot of seating options available, could have opened up a part of the tables for seating only. But the food was FANTASTIC! Our waiter, was lovely, service with a smile, we did receive a compliment cheesy bread due to the wait time, which was appreciated but not necessary; as the meal was served within 45 mins. And the food was perfect, hot and well cooked. I had roast of the day, hubby had a scotch fillet - it said it was one of the best steaks he has had at a restaurant for some time; that is saying something cause he can be picky. Good place to go for a Monday night steak in Lakes Entrance. The food was pub orientated and geared towards families, tourists and elderly members. Happy to eat here again.
I was asked by service staff to write a review about last nights dinner experience but I don’t know why they would especially After they knew what we experienced We arrived at 7pm to our booked table. It was snitzel night. Our 2 older children...and my partner and I looking forward to a hearty meal after having takeaway fish and chips previous night. We ordered our meals. 2 scotch steaks with sauces and veg and 1 snitzel, 1 parmy. We were sat right in front of kitchen so we could hear and see everything going on. Duty manager came and informed us sadly they had ran out of chicken snitzels and said kids could order anything same value so they decided on pasta. Half hour later came back to tell us out of pasta !!!! Duty manager said they could order anything but sadly wasn’t many options left. One son decided fish n chips (again) and one steak same as us. Then we heard chef yell out no sauces so we got garlic butter with our steaks instead, which sadly was disgusting more just butter if anything. No one could eat it. We understand how busy they were and kitchens run out etc etc but we were left in the restaurant eating dinner 1hour 20 mins later when restaurant was basically empty and staff packing up. The service staff were friendly and tried to go out of there way to make us happy but one free pot of beer just didn’t cut it sorry You asked how our meals were at the end and didn’t care that my partner and my steaks and veggies were cold before we even ate half of it. Our sons wasn’t so I can only assume ours were already cooked waiting to bring out while you sorted out our children’s meals disaster resulting in our meals being cold and our child’s super hot I simply cannot write a nice review as our experience was horrendous You couldn’t even bring us our garlic bread to eat while waiting so long for our meals and to charge $40 each for steak with veggies that are cold is sad. All The duty manager said to that was yes my meal was cold too but if you come back shout out and I’ll get you free drinks Wow I simply cannot applaud 2 cold meals with no care We will not be back for those free drinks sorry I suggest a better approach to issues that arise in the kitchen. The club looks fairly new and modern. The meal was fine and we had a good night out here. The service was very good and friendly.
We were passing through the town on an overnight stay and were recommended this place by a motel manager. But I was VERY disappointed. We were directed to our table by a very surly waitress. I ordered the soup of the day - potato, leek...and bacon. But it was COMPLETELY INEDIBLE as if the cook had poured in a packet of salt! Spoke to the same waitress, handing back the uneaten bowl and explained the problem. “OK” she said as she took away the bowl. There was no apology or question about ordering another dish. So I sat there with no food in front of me. Definitely won’t be going back there…More
