The setting is average and needs a lot of work, it was however clean and friendly. Hard to judge the service due to Covid but this review is for the food. If you can cope with the basics the food will by far make up...for it. I have to say the Rib Eye was one of the best I have ever had, maybe the best. The flavour was exquisite and cooked to perfection. Everyone said their meal was delicous and they all looked good.More

Have been twice now since new management. I have found the staff friendly and helpful as I am gluten and fructose intolerant . They made every effort to cook me a lovely meal on both visits. The food was delicious. For a nice evening I...would recommend the grange . For outing for friends or couples.More

It was nice to be met and welcomed as we arrived which made for a good night. Friendly service and a good price, the Grange restaurant can only get better and better.

I had dinner here recently and was very surprised at the quality of service and food that I received. The steaks are generous in size and cooked to perfection, the Seafood Sauce was fresh and tasty, thanks for a great night.

Had the pleasure to do Dinner at the Grange and sampled Chef Gildo's homemade Rissoles. Saw them on the menu and said to my wife they would have to be god to beat Mum's !! Well, in a word, Fabulous ! My late father was...number 1 in the MB Stakes, he taught Mum , but Guido's were superb ! The meal with drinks was a steal and I got to discuss the meatballs with Gildo at the bar after a great night ! Highly recommended the Grange Restaurant (and Motel) if in Hamilton.More

Living in hamilton you are spolit for choice with the amount of restaurants the town has on offer considering the size. Whenever my friends or family ask me where i would like to dine out i always say the grange as my first preference. The...deserts, mains and wines are all delicious. The characteristics of this beautiful facility make you feel like you're somewhere else. The staff are so approachable and caring, i can't wait to visit again!More

Ok, well this has been long time in coming. For $95 for two, within a big group for a party, it was some of the worst food we have ever had. Inedible, cold and tough, among a few choice words. The food took so long...to come out; understandably that you may not have experienced this amount of people in one group, around 70(?) but that is no excuse to give us horrible tasting food. When one cannot eat the steak, something is wrong. When you take a bite into "citrus asparagus" that tasted so bitter that all the people on your table spat it out, something is wrong. When you open up a hassle-back potato and it is grey inside, something is really wrong. Also on top of everything, the service, was disgusting. How dare you treat your patrons the way you did. The manager on the night, was absolutely horrible, and the way you treated your own staff was appalling! How dare you talk to young girls trying to do their best, the way you did. As you were the restaurant and hotel manager, I cannot believe the way you treated the asian group that was staying in the hotel, the way in which you talked about them once they walked away was again, disgusting. If I had your name, I would have wrote it here, but I do not sadly. Save yourself a trip, go somewhere else.More

average meal very expensive. No trimmings. Service average. Had to ask for water. Food was not hot and had some condiments which were not cooked on plate.

Dined here during a meeting, first time in a couple of years. The place has been freshened up with some new decor, some booths added anda couple of walls removed to make the space for roomy and inviting. Service and food was just ok, nothing...write home about, but no complaints. Menu is limited but has enough variety to suit most people.More

The menu has sufficient variety for a small restaurant, the venue is light and comfortable. The food, however, was a bit disappointing. It all seems to be cooked in a hurry, too hot when cooking and as a result the battered fish was overcooked on...the outside and just cooked inside, bacon with breakfast tends to be partly blackened (cooked too hot and too fast) even the eggs were blackened around the edges. The chef needs to understand that people are prepared to wait a few extra minutes for quality food to cook. The ingredients are of good quality and portion sizes are great. The salads could do with some reinvention - rocket, cherry tomatoes and spring onions with a bit of a vinagrette dressing - unimaginative and bland. Wish I could rate it better as the staff are great (including the chef) easy to talk too and the table service could not be faulted. Pricing is fair but the quality of the cooking could be improvedMore
