Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very casual place. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, they don’t currently have table service and can only sell to takeaway.
Their bread and danishes are absolutely delicious. Their breads are all sourdough, and very genuine sourdough with the deliciously crunchy outer and lovely, moist inside.
Their pastries and danishes are rich and buttery, just like the French bakers make them.
And they have a Roquefort sourdough fougasse that it just delicious with very few comparisons from any bakery.

Took me a little to find as side-streeted off Pako … not ON as address.
Anyway, worth the hunt as opened to a huge variety of sourdough on rack.
Hard to choose .. went the olive & rosemary .. delicious plain or toasted.
Usually not a sweet fan but couldn’t resist array of tempting pastries.
Tried the sticky pecan - flaky & yum.
Plenty of customers, happily served.

Found this little bakery when I was searching for a decent coffee and croissant on my recent trip to Geelong. It did NOT disappoint!! The coffee was creamy and the croissant was fresh and simply divine.... Special shoutout to the staff that let me use their staff bathroom - after a nearly 2 hour drive I was desperate and they took the time to look after me even though they were busy. Would definitely recommend if you are after a quick bite!

I call in to this place often. Great coffee, a good range of lunch options, very friendly and efficient staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Good for take away or eat in, although it is a small place and the eating spaces are limited. You can also purchase bread from a delicious range of specialty options. In a word - YUM.

Before you even enter the front door, you feel your pace quicken up. This place looks GOOD! Small but a great fit-out to display food made with love. Coffee, chicken sandwich and croissant for lunch- so good. White sourdough loaf to go with soup that night, bliss. Can’t wait to return for work to Geelong- B&B just turned work into a picnic

This small suburban coffee shop was very busy the morning we called in for coffee but I'm glad we made the detour. Service was fast, the coffee very enjoyable but the highlight was the almond croissant. I bought two more to take home.
The choice of sourdough breads was amazing/

We discovered this little bakery by accident, but have been back a few times. Why? When I enquired after a real European style rye bread, a special Thursday only bread was recommended. It is like a bread that was issued to the army - rectangular, dense, wholegrain, and heavy - but ever so tasty (if you have a taste for continental food), albeit a bit dearer. Excellent with strong flavour jam such as Powidl or Rosehip, or sliced ham or sausage - one slice will keep you going for a while. On the other end we tried Danish pastry with mushrooms or with Rhubarb - I could go on and on - so many successful experiments in flavour. Only problem is parking or rather the lack of, , and you may have to queue up a while.

The BEST bakery in Geelong. OMG, the breads, cakes, sandwiches, quiches & pastries are absolutely delicious. My favourite is the long seeded baguette with prosciutto & cheese. The croissants are excellent and the prices very reasonable.

We stayed in Torquay for a week in early Feb 2019 and found out about this Bakehouse from a local person, who brought us back 2 almond croissants during our stay.
Many years ago while I was working in Melbourne CBD, a fellow worker used to remark on a certain cake he purchased as God's Gift - now I understand how he felt about his special cake.
I call out these almond croissants from Born & Bread Bakehouse for what they truly are - God's Gift - the best I have ever tasted in almost 40 years of living in Melbourne. No pretend almond paste filling - but the real thing - oozing from the centre and also with a layer on the top outside, beneath a bed of sliced roasted almonds.
Needless to say we stopped for another supply of these delicious croissants on our way back to Melbourne, they actually ran out of supplies shortly after we purchased.
Just to clarify the address is listed as 364 Pakington Street, Newtown, Victoria 3220 (a suburb of Geelong) - which I had set into Google Maps - but it is not actually on Pakington St but just around the corner in Marshall St - in the small white washed brick shop front.

When passing by to go to the Dominican Hair Solutions shop, we would see a line wrapped around the corner. One day we saw a friend on line and asked what was being given away free. He told us how good the pastries were. My daughter came home with about 7 different items. Everything was so fresh and flaky. The slice of chocolate cake was so delicious, some almond croissant looking pastry was good and a Griffin stuffed with a nice creamy filling. We went as a family yesterday. We had the cheese grits and chorizo, spinach and cheese, berry marscapone, chocolate banks, bananas foster, Turkey and Swiss, ham and cheese, the everything croissant with cream cheese and of course, a slice of the delicious chocolate cake.
Take note! They are only open on Saturday.
