Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Being born and raised in India, one would expect that I would know something about Indian food. You are right !!!. The food here is SIMPLY THE BEST INDIAN FOOD ONE CAN HAVE ANYWHERE OUTSIDE INDIA. My wife and I have have lived outside India...for the last 30 years or so, the Middle East, USA, Europe and now Australia. We make all kinds of cuisines at home but when we have a craving for Authentic Indian, we just go to Shiraaz or call in for a pick up. They have never disappointed us or countless number of friends we have recommended this place to. The ambience is simple yet warm, soft Indian Instrumental Music in the background, Service is absolutely Top Notch, attentive but not intrusive. One can truly have a great evening with family and friends without the staff butting their noses into your conversation, as happens in many restaurants. Hats off to Mr Ashwani, the owner, for training his staff well. He also cooks occasionally and does a great job. The only down side is that parking is difficult to find but a little walk never kills anyone. Our family and friends, who visit from India, have always been delighted to come along to this place. Highly Recommended !!!More

Six of us were in want of some Indian food and a local resident recommended this restaurant. We were not disappointed at all. Had a wide selection on the menu, the quality of food/service was really good. Each of the dishes had a flavour of...its own. A must visit place on our next trip to GeelongMore

Atmosphere is very good. The food is very nice as well. My favourite is Daal Makhani and chicken korma for mains with butter or garlic naan. They use fresh Garlic

Amongst COVID restrictions the staff at Shiraaz were incredibly accommodating and squeezed us in (8ppl) to watch the grand final with perfect seating to watch the game. Great hygiene and access to sanitiser at every door, incredibly friendly and prompt service. Amazing food and generous...serving sizes (highly recommend the samosas & tikka masala). Overall such a happy experience, will definitely be back soonMore

We took note of the sanitizer at the door and the scrupulous attention to cleanliness in the restaurant. Luckily the imposition of reduced numbers in the venue did not seem to have reduced the quality of the meals, which as usual were up to a...very high standard. All the flavours were right on the money, and the serves were generous. This really is a venue to go back to.More

First time at this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. We started with papa dams (can’t go wrong there ) and some Kashmiri Nan (they call it something else) have to say it was the best I have had in many years, so full of...fruit and light, really nice. Went with chicken tikka, very tender and 2 vegetarian curries both lovely. Great spices which gave real depth. Service was prompt and friendly. Only down side was the wine we bought from their list, it was undrinkable . I must find out if they BYO as well??? Otherwise stick to a beer.More

The pictures depicted by their website and description are not quite as claimed. Whilst the food was acceptable the service was very ordinary, not warm or friendly. We had to ask for, napkins and forks. Some of the items we had ordered never arrived and...some items were dupilcated, so when ordering ask the wait staff to read orders back to you, also we would advise taking a picture of your order when it is served to your table as this will assist when paying the bill.More

I had a very poor meal from here. Tandoori mushrooms were soggy, the chargrilled corn was inedible (I think they served me left over corn, microwaved) and the coconut rice was oily. The curry was ok sauce was tasty but chicken rubbery. Seriously woeful.

Met my sweetheart for a quick CBD lunch together. Wisely suggested Shiraaz. Terrific value lunch special for $12: 2 curries, rice, naan, raita & salad on a big silver tray. All delicious and served with sweet attention by lovely waitress. Will become a regular. Can’t...wait to try a bigger dinner feast & dine nice and slow.More

In Geelong for work and tried Shiiraz based on Trip Advisor reviews as somewhere different to go for dinner. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with red balloons and flowers for Valentines Day! We ordered the Butter Chicken and the Aloo Baingan and Peas with peas...to share. My colleague had the garlic naan and I had the flaky parantha to accompany them. Everything was delicious and arrived promptly, even the second parantha I ordered half way through to finish off the butter chicken sauce. Good value at $25 per person (without drinks). The staff we welcoming and friendly, and prompt to respond to requests. Would definitely go back.More
