Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came for breakfast before work, always a nice place to visit. I had poached eggs with spinach, mushroom and avocado. Eggs were cooked slighted over but better that, then eggs yolk running out!!
Just a little cold in the cafe as it was a cool morning yesterday and heater wasn't heating the room up.
Overall nice breakfast with pot of tea!

Amazing cafe offering something a little different. The food was delicious with a predominantly Eastern European influence. We ordered the lunch share platter, suvlaki and pierogi. The dishes were enjoyed by all - well worth a visit!

Had the breakfast platter this morning and my oh my it was amazing! I do question if it's really for only two people as there was so much food but I couldn't stop eating. The coffee was spot on as well. Staff were really friendly and happy to help. Will definitely be back again.

Not as it used to be. New owners have no idea what their menu represents or how to prepare the meals traditionally. If you are from a Balkan background you will be bitterly disappointed. The Pita is just pita bread, they don’t know what a Burek is, even though it’s on the menu. The chevapi look as they were deep fried and rubbery. The Kupus salata is just shredded cabbage with NO dressing of any sort ( disgusting). If you order the grilled calamari it is presented as the calamari salad! When you question any of the menu items be prepared for a blank look at first, then frustration and contempt. What once was is no longer so look elsewhere.

Could improve customer interaction in initial interaction. After being to Sodi across the road the day before we were excited to try another local cafe for breakfast but after no welcome we just ordered coffees to go. To be fair the coffee was very good.

Whilst I appreciate the difficulties with Covid I didn’t appreciate being left standing out on the footpath waiting. We had a booking after a friend highly recommended this place. When we finally asked they cleared a table. The table was so sticky everything stuck to it. Very unpleasant. We all ordered a drink and our meals and whilst our drinks arrived we waited an hour for our meals. We queried the delay but the waitress appeared totally disinterested and did not offer any reason for the delay. It certainly was not busy. We found the service so slow and the waiting staff fairly disinterested. Our meals were okay but not good enough to overcome the delay.

Breakfast platter looked amazing but everything was dry and our poached eggs were close to soft boiled. The sourdough was very tasty though. Also took 30mins for coffees to come out. Staff were very pleasant. Perhaps they were understaffed due to covid but it didn’t seem crazy busy. Won’t rush back

Our highly anticipated family breakfast ended with disappointment today after being informed the chef would not scramble two eggs without milk four my one year old niece who has a dairy allergy. Apparently this thirty second job was too challenging despite the exact same action of egg cracking being carried out when patrons order a fried egg off the menu. Upon payment we informed staff of our disappointment as it really was not an unreasonable request. The waitress was happy for the chef to take time out the the kitchen to discuss this with me which I appreciate. However was she not “too busy”? After all she was “too busy” to crack two eggs and whisk for thirty seconds, but not too busy to come and discuss the matter with me? This face to face time out of the kitchen would have taken more than thirty seconds. I’m confused! Anyway I guess my point is as a hospitality owner myself I do understand that changes to menus can be a challenge, but not when the preparation of the food was not any different to what you’re already doing. The refusal to that request was plain and simple laziness on the kitchens behalf! This was not requested because we were making a “lifestyle choice”, this was requested because the patron wishing to dine had a medically diagnosed allergy to contents which could easily be removed. Whilst I appreciate the waitress coming to the rescue of the supposedly over worked chef, I would like to remind you that 6 people at a table who have ordered prior to any other patron arriving and ordering meals in your venue does not put you under pressure. It merely highlights the ignorance of the chef and the level of “hospitality” the business chooses to show its patrons. I really wish I had something more positive to share about this business as I have previously dined there and enjoy my meal. Today the service alone has me not to consider going back in the future.

Tasty food and coffee but my birthday breakfast was a bit disappointing due to the worker with the tattoo on the back of her neck and piercings. Very disinterested, rude and grumpy.

Have never been into a cafe around Melbourne....or Geelong...or Europe for that matter that does not do poached eggs Mmmm
Very interesting but do fried...very healthy!!!!
So ordered the FRIED eggs and mushrooms on sourdough and the Calamari Salad with a Chai Tea and Long Black.
No crema on the Long Black but then thats normal with most cafes around they simply cant do it... The Chai Tea was very nice...waited for the milk but that didnt come so had it without.
The calamari I could not even chew. Very over cooked and tough so I sent it back and said I would have the eggs but no we are not cooking anymore the kitchen is closing. This is at 1.30 and yes cafes had to close because of covid but could they not have tried to keep customers especially new ones which we were having never been there before. But no was the answer so this is such a shame as most little cafes may close after all this and never reopen again.
So all up not a great start at a cafe we have never visited before and will possibly not return to as there are so.many wonderful ones all along this street. However they did of course refund for the meal which we could not eat
