Mediocre Lunch Menu

Great location & well covered outdoor seating on Echuca hot day. Chose to come here for as it all looks so impressive. Lunch menu is mediocre to say the least. We ordered fish which was okay. Rather stodgy battered fish & thin chips, nicest part of meal was the salad. Had a nice bottle of Chardonnay as lunch was a special occasion. When waitress told us the price of the bottle (expensive) she said she would ask chef if he could do a special price. On returning we were told it was his “special & if we didn’t want to pay full price he would take it home” ... all good & we decided to have it. (Glad we did as it was beautiful) On paying the bill we were charged an extra eftpos fee of $1.83 🙄 This was not pointed out at the time, I discovered it when home checking invoice. It’s not much but it’s the principle, Whole experience has left a rather bad taste & we won’t be returning. Plenty of fab cafes / restaurants in Echuca to choose from who don’t charge eftpos fee. I will know better next time.

Lovely family meal

This gem offered up a great variety of well-priced, fresh food options, with generous serves. Staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. We enjoyed our lunch in the beautiful alfresco area. We’d definitely recommend a visit here.

Excellent eggs

We had brunch here on the pleasant outdoor terrace. Staff were very good; COVID compliance excellent. I had poached eggs with bacon and roasted mushrooms. This was one of the best poached eggs meals I have had - they even asked how I would like the eggs - soft, medium or firm, and they came as ordered. Even the gf bread was good quality instead of a tasteless white slice. We will go back.

We were shown a table and nobody attended to us so we sourced some menus ourselves, after making our choices nobody still came so I went to the counter to order where I was told it was table service. So I sat & waited & waited....again no service, again I went to the till where I was again told it was table service.....finally somebody came & we were advised we could only place an order for drinks as the kitchen wasn’t able to take any more orders for 45 minutes.......surely we could have been told this when we were shown a table. We left to go to another venue where we were offered prompt & friendly service. We do not recommend this cafe.

Too busy to take payment

Very busy as many cafes were closed on Boxing Day. I don’t mind waiting for my coffee and breakfast but I do not like to wait for more than 5 minutes to pay for our meal. An occasional sorry but staff continued to make coffees and deliver them whilst we waited for a simple tap and go. Definitely not good enough. Back to Shebani’s next week.

The staff was so lovely and attentive. Sat outside beautiful morning. Great selection of food. The meal was large and good quality the bacon was great. The coffee was beautiful in a mug/cup. On departure the staff wished me safe travelling as I was on my own. Be my next dinner stop next visit. Reasonably priced.

Busy, great service

Ate here for lunch today and even though it was busy and restrictions due to COVID. You could not fault the service. Food was really good and hope to get back before heading back to Melb

Customer service was terrible, took 45 minutes to have our order taken, waited for more than two hours for breakfast. Poor form!!!

The lady in here was very friendly and gave help in directions even when I did not buy anything!. It was a former Post Office and an impressive building built in 1877 and national Trust classified
