Was there the other night for a meal with family and friends and was left pretty disappointed with my main meal. Ordered the Asian Style Tofu and when i received it it was a bowl of rockette with 6 medium sized cubes of tofu. Very underwhelmed with the amount of tofu especially considering how cheap tofu is!! The dressing was nice but overall it was just an overpriced salad. Other people on the table seemed to enjoy there meal but was still overpriced. I personally won't be back.

My wife & I ate at the Mill tonight & came away very impressed. Although a Monday night, there was quite a number of guests. Although not on the menu, we requested & were given damper bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar, absolutely superb. The bread is actually baked in house. For our mains my wife enjoyed the crispy skin salmon & for me the kangaroo loin which although a little chewy was full of flavour. As far as wine, we both enjoyed a two glasses each of the Heathcote Shiraz offered as a glass or a bottle, The building is a beautifully restored former flour mill. Staff excellent.

We had dinner with our teenage children on a Thursday evening after some COVID restrictions had been lifted. Everything was clean, the staff were lovely, friendly and relaxed. The menu has been a little reduced in size but in no means quality. The 5 of us ordered a different meal each and we all thoroughly enjoyed them. I had the Murray Cod and it was one of the best fish dishes in a long time. The setting was lovely and cosy for a cold evening. Would highly recommend.

My wife & I ate dinner at The Mill Thursday 9 July & will never return. The service staff were first class, but the food offering a shocker. My wife ordered the grilled calamari, but couldn’t eat it due to its lack of temperature & leathery consistency. Her replacement dish was half the size of the first, making us think (hopefully not), that it was simply the remainder of the first reheated. Her replacement dish was still as tough as boot leather. My meal was the duck, which I also returned due to it being lukewarm only & like the calamari, as tough as boot leather. My replacement dish was marginally better than the first, but still tough to eat. We didn’t give sweets a second’s thought as we’d had enough. Thank heavens the red we purchased was a fine bottle.

Whilst the food was nice, the service was abysmal. I had to ask them to come and take our wine order, then I had to ask them to take our food order at the same time as reminding them about our wine. The food came out staggered, so some people had finished before the others had started. The table wasn't cleared. We weren't offered the dessert menu or another bottle of wine. We had to go up and ask to pay. We won be back.

After checking with staff to see we were not too late for dinner (7.40) we were seated quickly and given menus. We made our selections from the starters and sides menu so we didn’t put the kitchen under too much stress. We told the waitress it could come out whenever it was ready. The food was a little bit not great. Our pork belly had no crispy top, the fat not rendered and the meat tough and chewy (cooked too quickly). The scallops were a little raw in the centre (bacon jam was good). The dumplings FULL of some mushroom pasty stuff (eat everything but mushroom). The broccoli Was way over cooked, mushy and wet. The sausage was over cooked and dry. Not a great experience. 1 star for ambience. 1star for service. Shame because it’s usually quite good.

We had high hopes for the mill but were very dissapointed. My $55 steak was thin, as dry and tough as a peice of leather and very cold.. Also found the dumplings to be cold and lacking flavour. Everyone else at the table were as equally dissapointed with their meals.. also complaining that their meals were cold and over priced for the quality of food.Definently would not return nor recommend. Luckily the cocktails were good- the only upside!

Ate here for dinner on weekend break to Echuca. Lovely setting but sadly that is the highlight. We ordered the pork belly and the lamb cutlets. We were advised to order sides as there was little veg on the plates. So we ordered a side of roast pumpkin which although was very tasty was overpriced at $14 for a small slice and lacking the blue cheese which was supposed to accompany it, only a few crumbs were on the plate. Half the pork belly was overcooked and the skin wasn't crispy making it inedible. The lamb cutlets were well overcooked. Both dishes were pushing $40 each which I am happy to pay if the food is properly cooked (and not overcooked) and have a little more than sauce on the plate. Not recommended and will not be returning.

Ordered the duck maryland and a couple sides with two cocktails. Cocktails were very creative pieces and the whole drinks menu comes across as considered and the local products all feature very heavily. The duck itself served with it's croque were both delicious, definitely taken a quality over quantity approach with smaller servings, but, we eat to enjoy! The duck was perfectly cooked, easy to pull apart and done better than competitors around town no doubt. I do wish the wait staff had table checked though for one grievance, just a nice habit to get into, checking if customers have enjoyed their drinks, food and service. Only grievance however. A good experience for sure, will be back to further explore the food and drinks menus. Kudos.

Party of four three ordered the over priced lamb wrack the fat was never rendered and remained all over the plate no sight of the sides. The bowl of chips $10 was soggy the other dish steak at $65 was barely passable but over priced. OMG how on earth do they continue trading

Recently visited The Mill during our visit to Echuca. It was recommended to us. Service was OK. The wait staff were friendly. The menu was very interesting with a lot of promise. The boss ordered Sous Vide chicken who proclaimed it delicious. I ordered the Orange Glazed Duck Maryland. I got a shock that the duck potion I received comprised one, not overly large duck leg (not a Maryland). It was delicious, but given the serving size and its cost, was not impressed. I did complain to the waitstaff after, but of course they can't do much. Hopefully the feedback was passed back to the kitchen.

Friendly staff welcome you to a great venue with charm and ambience. Unfortunately both dishes of $52 Wagyu scotch fillet were disappointing in taste, were not seared, and a fatty cut bedded on a ridiculously small portion of truffle mash (about a teaspoon, almost enough for a mouthful) , raw onion shell was not burnt as described in the menu, but with excellent spiced pumpkin so at least had something to eat with the meat. No return intended.

Me and my wife had 8pm dinner yesterday on 21/12/2021 at The Mill. We ordered 2 Salmons (with roast kipfler salad, black hummus, mustard & lime dressing (Large Plates)$38 each plate and before that 1 small plate of Haloumi served with tomato paste and zucchini slice. The salmons were just as untasteful as it looked awful. All in black hummus with no particular taste of any dressing, just like fatty dirt. It was hard to swallow. We were hungry but as we tried the food, our appertite evaporated. We did not finish it and let waitress know that we are not happy. No one made any gesture to resolve it and we just paid $$$ for the dishes which were completely disgusting. Haloumi dish was a bit better however its taste was lost in sourness of tomato paste .

Last night's meal for five of us at The Mill in Echuca couldn't be faulted on anything. The staff were excellent - friendly, welcoming, efficient, and helpful. The food was delicious. The menu is divided into small and large plates, with about five large plates listed, all meat based. There were about ten small plates listed, half of them vegetarian. On our table, two meat eaters shared plates, and three vegetarians shared five small plates, and everything was voted excellent. My favourite was the sev puri, but I would have been happy to have any of the vegetarian dishes. Beautifully presented dishes, and reasonable sized serves. We all managed to fit in dessert as well - again all beautifully presented and delicious. The old flour mill has been done up very nicely and the restaurant felt comfy and welcoming, and not at all stuffy. Nicely presented toilets, although I have a personal preference for hand towels rather than electric hand driers. The wine list had a good range by the glass, well priced. The four year old at our table was made to feel very welcome by the staff, and she enjoyed sharing food with the adults. Although we had brought activities with us for her to do, it was great that the restaurant provided coloured pencils and a colour-in sheet for children. I want to go back! But my daughter is moving from Echuca next month, so we may not have a chance sadly.

The Mill is an example of trying to be different to the run of the same old same old trendy restaurants. It does achieve that objective, however, my opinion is that with the menu they have gone out to "left field" a little too far in that I felt there was a restriction on choice to an extent. I didn't feel like meat or fish and that left me with little to order so I settled on a starter of whitebait (delicious) as my final option. I don't really mean this as a criticism - more of a comment - as we enjoyed our evening very much.
