Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The six of us ordered coffees, mushrooms on toast, salmon x 3 and the cheeseburger. All the salmons came out raw... only slightly seared- basically sushi in the middle. Iced coffee came out warm. Salmon was recooked and iced coffee was remade but no discount at all. Poor form. The rest of our orders were delicious. Lovely courtyard. Centrally located.
We won't be back.

So good! We got takeaway, egg and bacon pie, a vanilla slice, orange juice and coffee. All was amazing. I didn’t think that the pie would come with salad as I was getting take away , but there was a beautiful huge salad and a serve of home made chutney, together with a package of bamboo knife fork and serviette. The vanilla slices also were in a cardboard box with a serving of cream.
I’m se pleased we stopped here, they certainly exceeded expectations by producing tasty food with good sized serving at reasonable cost.
My only disappointment was that the meat pies were boscastle. I can’t help feeling that these guys would make a much better meat pie, if their egg and bacon pie is the standard.
I highly recommend!

I dined here with two friends on the Monday before Cup Day when almost all restaurants locally were closed (go figure!). Their COVID protocols were terrific and we dined outside in a comfortable setting. My friends chose beef tortellini and I chose pumpkin, spinach and feta ravioli. My friends enjoyed their meal; I enjoyed my flavours but the pasta was a little chewy. Two of us drank house-made juices which were beautiful and we took away some nibbles for afternoon tea. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch.

I live reasonably close to Percy and Percy and its such a shame. To explain, there is usually one woman there each time that is most interested in chatting with other staff than serving you, she always seems angry or huffy when you ask for anything (including to order) the other staff can be quite pleasant but tend t follow this one woman's lead. The food is generally pretentious, over reaching and poorly executed. Which is a shame, if they dialed it back a little it could be quite good. From my experience they appear to use cafe milk which is generally a 2% easy frothing milk that will leave you blotted, combined with burned coffee due to over tamping or too fine a grind, its frustrating. The positives are that the location is a nice leafy inner Bendigo street and a laid back ambiance.

Had the green eggs and ham +mushroom +smoked salmon. The best thing about the meal was it’s size. Nice and big and thank you for giving me TWO pieces of bread. The last few places I went to only gave me one piece and the whole meal winds up being too small. Also it was very tasty too. 4/5 . It would have been 5 if the spinach & rocket was dressed and there was more hollandaise. Nice1 Percy - with the great service too. 👍😊

This place used to be very good. The last 3 times I have been there have been unenjoyable, to the point that I will never return. The coffee is substandard, the food seems overly commercial and predictable, and the banana bread I ordered was awful. What was once so enjoyable is now a disappointment and a loss for Bendigo.

We visited this cafe on recommendation as it was a very short walk from our motel. On arrival this cafe was a buzz with people eating breakfast and those waiting for this early morning shot of coffee. The staff was friendly and the food and coffee was very good.

We were looking for some good coffee and good food to get our day off on the right foot. After our visit to Percy and Percy, we felt we had achieved this. They have a combination of indoor and outdoor eating areas, with a flavourful and inspired menu, with a combination of classic dishes as well as Persian infused dishes. The coffee was enjoyed and the food devoured. A real stand out to our breakfast experience was the hash brown - it appears that this little treasure is made in house and is comprised of a delightful balance of unique flavours. This was no ordinary hash brown, making this a delicious treat. We wouldn’t hesitate to come here again.

A disappointing meal and unfriendly staff.
We ordered the Persian eggs which were very underwhelming. The so called “topped with goats cheese” was minimal. The eggs were not poached well and the sourdough was full of holes and very dry. The watermelon juice was tasteless and seemed watered down and sugary. The staff were more intent on closing up for the day and the staff member at the register was dismissive and quite rude. A pretentious cafe without customer service and poor quality food. There’s plenty of other far better cafes in Bendigo.

A nice-looking venue with friendly and efficient staff. Most of the seating is stools at benches, however, and some of these are higher than average. This can be a deterrent for people with back issues, older patrons, or people with toddlers. The seating mostly lacks back support and can be a little unsafe for the elderly or toddlers. There are some tables with better chairs, but there is no guarantee you can get a spot at these tables.
The menu contains a good mix of classic standards and more interesting offerings. The coffee was OK, but the food was mostly well cooked and well flavoured.

From Covid checking in, service from the friendly staff, menu selection, the good coffee and hot chocolate, everything was spot in. I really enjoyed Dr Marty’s Crumpets- the lemon curd they make themselves- delicious.
Nothing to fault here and everything to enjoy.

What a great place to grab breakfast/brunch. A wide selection of meal options, would highly recommend the Granola, excellent beverages and staff were very friendly and accomodating. Will definitely be going back again.

Unless you are prepared to wait over 45 minutes for food, I would strongly recommend not coming here. At the time of ordering, I was told it would be 15 minutes. 45 minutes later, the food still had not arrived. The wait staff do not even offer an apology and are unhelpful- they make it sound like it’s my fault that the food is late. When I said it was unreasonable to wait this long, the waitress told me that it was actually reasonable when they are full! Maybe warn diners then so they can choose to go elsewhere. Either hire more staff or close tables but it is unreasonable to expect people to wait over 45 minutes for food. The food was nice when it arrived but I’m never coming back.

We ate here today following a friend’s recommendation. Three of the four of us ordered the Persian eggs which were tasty although a little incongruous. Poached eggs with bacon, cherry tomatoes, toast, spinach, goats cheese and dukkah. The goats cheese, spinach and tomatoes were delicious on toast and the bacon and eggs went together with the other slice of toast. The coffee was a little underwhelming. In my opinion the price point is a little high.

Cute little cafe, staff weren’t super welcoming but slowly warmed up once they realised we were out for an enjoyable breakfast. The food was lovely, the only improvement opportunity I would have is their bacon. Short cut bacon doesn’t allow you to crisp it up and it was the only let down for me. I would encourage you to have full rashers of bacon.
