Went with my daughter and two very young grandsons today for lunch. The boys both had nuggets and chips which was served with a salad. My daughter and I had their steak sandwich. The kids meals came out first, which was a nice touch as it quietened them down. Not long after came the steak sandwiches.
Now I consider myself a connoisseur of steak sandwiches, I have eaten literally hundreds of them, they generally are dry overcooked pieces of meat served with an egg, bacon and salad. Not this one, no sir! The steak was thicker than standard, and pink inside, juicy. No egg, no bacon, but awesome caramelised onions and a mustard and mayo replacing the bog standard tomato sauce
The service was excellent, the staff were exceptionally friendly, and we had an awesome afternoon together.
This was the 4th time I've been there, the other times I've had their hot rock steak which also was brilliant, I just wanted to try something different off their menu.
I haven't had a bad experience at the Hibo, and I doubt I will.
Full credit to the management and staff, you create a magnificent dining experience

We dropped in for lunch as it was next door to the motel we were waiting to check into next door. We had a bowl of chips which was huge. The barman was extremely friendly. Then we returned after visiting an exhibition for dinner. We had wals schnitzel and chips with salad. Omg the chips were awesome fluffy but a lovely crunch don't think I will ever find better chips. The dressing On the salad was great and the plate was full and a real great value for money. We had a couple of Jack Daniels and coke normal pub prices.thr bar lady and staff in the bistro were extremely friendly and loved a chat which is great. We had an early me and it was quite and lovely to be able to have a conversation with out having to talk loud even though sports was playing on the t.v. we will stop for a meal should we be in Bendigo again 😁😁😁

Great value for money. The chips were delicious, & the parmigianas are a perfect size. The salad dressing on the garden salad is very nice. Our friends who had vegetables were also very impressed. Plenty of them & cooked well. It was our friends birthday & there for received a free stein of beer which added to a great night’s celebration. Everybody left happy & with full bellies. Thank you. We will definitely be back.

Finally once we realised that this place was open (do not go by google) we had a lovely lunch. Hubby had hoy rocks lamb backstrap and I had flash fried calamari. Both were delicious and generous with chips and salad.
Furthermore, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable.

Busy. Always seems to be crowded. Popular. Usually a good sign.
Fast and friendly service. Prices are average.
Not the hugest chicken Parma I've ever seen, but tasted great with added bacon. Ice creams look very appealing. Playground area for the kids, and adjoining motel.

First visit in a couple of years and food & service were amazing!
Used to be terrible service/ food at the Hibo but we loved our meals (decent size!) and all staff were very friendly.
Visited on a busy public holiday and meals were delivered quickly. Will definitely be back!! Thanks for a great night!

Haven't been here for quite some time, but glad we did. Quick Service and the Parma's were really good, topping, chips & nice veg all well-cooked & presented. Staff friendly, definitely going again!

Small dining room which was full on my arrival. I sat in the bar which was also well populated.
Staff are friendly and polite.
Ordered chicken Parma which took over an hour but was magnificent. Best Parma I've ever had.
Definitely worth the wait.

Was looking forward to a hot rock steak for lunch but was disappointed.

i have been to the Hibernian many times - the last visit made it the last - worse meals in bendigo overpriced frozen food - nothing seemed made in house all brought in and charged The woodhouse prices
