What a great place! This was our first time here but we’ll be back. The starter bacon pesto Cobb bread loaf ($12.90) was cheesy and wonderful - enough for four people. The pan-baked Asian barramundi ($35.90) was delicious and plentiful. The sous vide duck breast on cashew mash ($39.90) was also delicious and beautifully presented. The Pondalowie Shiraz ($50) was the perfect drop. The staff and managers were friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Worth a visit.

This is a nice contemporary pub slightly on pricey side. The decor is modern but cosy. The menu sizeable and slightly on the pricey side however very good quality so justified. Flavours are perfect and portions are good too. Bar staff aren't hugely knowledgeable on cuisines but are enthusiastic, polite and attentive. Well worth its high rating and definitely worth a visit.

We dined at the Broughams Arms Hotel when visiting Bendigo last month having read the great reviews, and were certainly not disappointed. The staff were all excellent and provided great customer service. - especially our wonderful waitress Ashley who explained the menu, answered our questions and came by regularly to see if all was ok, even though the restaurant was full and she had a large group of diners beside us to cover. Our drinks arrived promptly as did our meals, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We felt our dining experience at the Brougham Arms was far superior to other restaurants we have visited in our travels and highly recommend visiting if in Bendigo.

Well decorated, service was impeccable and the wine list extensive. The vegetable lasagne was huge and full of flavour. Hubby had steak which was cooked to his liking. Sadly, the Panacotta dessert was very busy with too many flavours and the panacotta itself was very rubbery. Not light and wobbly like it should be.

This was absolutely terrible! I had the duck special which was overcooked so that it was chewy and tough, the fat was not cooked so slimy texture. There were only two pieces bites of duck (luckily and could barely get though that leaving half. I also had honey carrots on the side, which were inedible. They were cold and raw. I write this review because we were very polite and gave them feedback on the night, as a courtesy. The surprise was they barely acknowledged the problem, didn’t offer an apology. We expected the chef to at least speak to us, particularly as we’d been so polite on receiving an inedible meal. This was a $200 meal to boot. D Bad form.

We had a family girls lunch and all of us absolutely loved our meals. The food was delicious, it did take quite a while to come out but was definitely worth the wait! We all agreed it’s by far the best pub meal any of us have had. The butter chicken, the satay chicken, the golden prawns and the duck breast are all highly recommended.

Great pub in a side street of Bendigo. Lovely ambience, bright and roomy. The lunch was delicious. Entree of crispyt battered prawns so fresh and tasty. Chicken parma outstanding and the slow cooked beef cheek in a curry sauce on bed of rice, delicious. Dessert of sticky date pudding, unfortunately a little too cold to enjoy. Staff are accommodating and friendly. This pub is extremely fortunate to have such amazing chefs. Plenty of room so no one is sitting on top of the together. Highly recommended and we will return. One small issue was on a cold winters day they had overhead fans on, upon request they turned the one off above us, but then a staff member put the air conditioning on. Its like 16 degrees. Management need to be aware of this one silly issue.

We came here as a business group for dinner. They were very patient with us as our group came in one by one over an hour. They brought us ice water as a matter of course. The food was interesting with a good portion size and the restaurant offered some vegetarian dishes. The bar area only had "pub favourites", with a meat orientation and no vegetarian options.

This is a popular venue with locals in Bendigo. The service is good and it has a pleasant atmosphere. My companions enjoyed Rabbit Ragout pasta, which looked tasty. I had the extremely rich Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder, generous portion served with mash and crisp beans with a tasty jus.

Left the Brougham arms extremely unsatisfied with meals. Meals were extremely small for the price point and for being a pub meal. Waited over an hour for our meals and left still hungry. I am by no means a big eater either. Very disappointed in managers response when given feedback about meal size and quality ( 2 of our groups steaks were ordered medium and came out rare). Will not be going back.

Terrible service in the bistro. Got there 1.30pm didn’t get the meals until 2.30pm and the place was not that busy. Ordered battered whiting and Asian crispy pork. After waiting an hour for the food the pork was very disappointing. It was chewy, not very tasty and nothing crispy about it. Very expense dish for $36 and was terrible. Don’t order this dish. The whiting was just ok. No apology for the lateness of the meals. I noticed when we paid the meals it’s standard to be asked how was your meals? We were never asked anything about the meal. Very disappointing. Will never be back and never recommend. Only attended because of trip advisor

Booked online due to covid19. They called back within 10 minutes to confirm with a warm conversation. As soon as we walked in we knew were in the right place, we greeted at the door by a waiter who served us wonderfully well all night. Sorry I can’t remember his name but he was very efficient and friendly- particularly to our 9 yr old who felt very special and loved her simple fish n chips. Kids menu was full of choices and little bonuses that made this place more appealing online. We, especially our 9 yr old, were not disappointed. The food came quickly and was outstanding. The slow cooked lamb shoulder on mash.... with a nice Heathcote Shiraz was absolutely scrumptious. Tender with a lovely jus and perfectly blanched greens. Bookings during this period of uncertainty advisable as the place filled very quickly due to limited seating. As an ex Melbourne publican I highly recommend the Brougham Arms Hotel. Great food, service and ambiance. Well worth the visit. Thinking about going back tomorrow night to try something else the menu while still in Bendigo. If not will definitely go back in the future. I hope you have a similar experience as us when you go. 👍👌 Myles

I’m told by locals that this pub has been a well regarded watering hole and dining spot for ages and it’s easy to see why. Nicely styled with different areas available for diners, drinkers and partiers this is a well run and very smooth operation. My porterhouse was cooked as requested and the mash (could have had chips) was good. Price was right and noise level perfect. I’ll be back.

I went for lunch here on 6 th Jan.The spring rolls I ordered were tasteless and were served on a bed of very wilted rocket and the lime slice was bone dry, not a drop of juice in it. My friend ordered chicken schnitzel which was mainly crumbs, with a sliver of chicken. My other friend ordered fried whiting which was very greasy. Also ,I doubt that it was whiting as the pieces were too big to be whiting. All up a very disappointing birthday lunch !

Not impressed - the mushroom risotto wasn’t the best. All I tasted was cheese - and lots of it, very harsh and over the top taste. Clumsy. No taste of mushrooms whatsoever, barely any on the plate. Not the right consistency either - watery, gluggy and just really odd tasting. Expensive for such a crap meal and not much of it!
