Went for dinner with my husband and 3 young kids. Was very pleased with the fast service as our kids are not the most patient. Best pizza I've had for a long time.

We've eaten a few times at the Forge, at both their Armstrong St (CBD) and Sturt St (Alfredton) locations, plus takeaway. As far as tasty wood fired pizza and indulgent pasta, combined with a glass of wine and a cosy, relaxed atmosphere goes, Forge hits the spot. I wouldn't say anything I've eaten here has been the best I've ever... More

OMG have not had a dessert pizza this good. Not that I am a pizza fan at the best of times. White chocolate, marshmallow and strawberry delight. My mouth loved it, my body not so much. However, a few laps around the lake will get it off

Up there with one of the best pizza's I've had. Good service, great atmosphere and the 50's music is funky. Worthwhile experience.

Visited on a weekday lunchtime and was disappointed with the spicy prawn pizza. The base was sloppy, the top was oily, very scant topping compared to usual and it was not spicy. Only the rocket was good! I love this restaurant, when it works well it is the best pizza in town and world-class, but it does seem to lack... More

100% recommend. Nothing compares. All the pizzas on the menu are amazing so it makes it difficult to choose just one.they cater for large groups so I suggest you all order something different so you can try every thing. Forge have friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Oh and don't forget to try the dessert pizzas too.AMAZING!!

New to Ballarat I found this restaurant purely by chance! Delicious 'boutique' style pizzas and beers! My smoked salmon, capers & boccini cheese was to die for. Very friendly and efficient service. The icey cold beers on a scorcher of a day was heaven Wonderful set up for dining, from tables for 2 up to large family tables.

Had lunch @ Forge on a rainy day in Ballarat 28h March. Had tortellini & a pizza. We both enjoyed our meals - my husband thought the tortellini was fab - open pasta shells filled with delightful filling not usual commercial stuff. Pizza was great - thin crispy crush wood fired baked with spicy salami on top. Great building with... More

We were blown away by the extensive beer list to begin with and were then totally impressed with the standard of the pizza we had. These would seriously be among the best pizzas we have ever eaten.

Our grandfather Frank was a well-known Blacksmith in the Ballarat region, and at the heart of a Blacksmith's shop is a fire they call the Forge. With a combination of the fire, great skill and plenty of hard work, great things are created. Take a look at our wood fire oven and you'll know why we are "The Forge".

Established in 2010 by brothers Chris and Tim Matthews, The Forge Pizzeria creates delicious woodfired pizzas made with fresh local produce and high quality deli ingredients. We pride ourselves on pizza perfection, passion and a fun laid-back atmosphere. There is a fully serviced 200 seat restaurant in Armstrong Street, Central Ballarat, which complements the 20 seat take-away store in Sturt Street, Alfredton. We also now have two rolling mobile pizza ovens which operate at various events and private functions.

Once your pizza is ordered, its action a plenty. Using our fresh healthy dough recipe, the stretcher starts stretching the base, great viewing in itself. The makers add the right amount of ingredients, which have all been freshly prepared on our premises, into the woodfire oven and then the magic happens. Fresh, healthy and woodfired.
