Friendly staff in a stylish welcoming space. Wood fired pizzas were delicious and arrived quickly. Good wine selection. A nice casual place to chill.

Great place to catch up have a few drinks and a cheap feed, $14 for a wood fired pizza sure beats that other overpriced place where you have to sit & listen to other people chew & talk
A group of us had dinner at the Main Bar last month. The service was quick and friendly, and the good was really good (try the gnocchi, its delicious). Portion sizes are good and the drinks are a reasonable price. They let you split bills...too ;)More
I've eaten here several times. The pizzas are always nice, the bases are cooked perfect. I've noticed there are a lot of bad pizza places in Ballarat . The Main Bar is certainly the best in Ballarat.
we sat in the booth seats for the quaintness factor. this place reminded us of a Katoomba style old money coffee shop and we loved it. not a huge selection of cakes but they had a small lunch menu. we had the mezz plate and...all ingredients we really good quality - dukkah was on the hummus. a quaint place.More
Must I admit I've developed some kind of ill-informed perception that this place does not good so it's no good for me! HOW WRONG WAS I! A wonderful atmosphere and superb service and great value food that excites the palate! Highly recommended little establishment and...perhaps one of Ballarat's hidden little gems... Worth taking a few mates or even a double date to genuinely take it all in and enjoy a night of pleasant amenity and food with the odd bit of entertainment also appearing! To top off my praises I'd suggest any Risotto lover gets on in for what I'll call Ballarat's best risotto!More
Had a great night at the Main Bar last week. This venue hosts two outdoor eating areas and three separate indoor dining spaces. Ideal for a group get together if you are looking for your own space. Ate a range from the Pizza menu. In...my opinion these are better than the Forge Pizzas which have a strong following in Ballarat. Located down the Eastern End of the CBD parking is also more available than right in the centre of town. Recommended.More
Shame about the chairs on the ceiling. We used a smartphone to help see the Menu. The pizzas were a little small but delicious. Enjoy!
We have been here a few times and always great meals and Genovese coffee so don't need to say much more. The building is overflowing with history as well! Give it a go.
The Main Bar is a lovely little venue and I have always enjoyed the food. I was very disappointed however on my last visit for a light lunch. The choice was limited and prices had increased substantially. Bring back your toasties (which were reasonably priced...at $10 as well as being delicious). The paninis at $14.50 just aren't worth it.More
Versatile place. Coffee and cake offered during the day. Nice lunch and dinner. Friendly service with smiles. Music from local performers playing on the weekends. Leather seats. Island bar. Warm and inviting.
Our lunch here was fantastic ( I had the Mexican waffles ) and our experience was topped off with a lovely conversation with the owner about the history of the venue and their venture renovating the place into the beautiful cafe - restaurant - bar...it is today. We would love to visit here again and hope to see the live music too.More
Loved this place, food was great and the decor was awesome. The owner served us and was very friendly and gave us a lot of great information on the area.
Pizzas are good but the service incredibly slow. Coffee very ordinary and cold despite asking for it to be hot. Overall disappointing.
Simple, thin crust, quality fresh ingredient based pizzas. Better than most pizzas I have tried in Melbourne city! Highly recommended.....
